What does that even has to do with anything?
The point being that the reason Kojirou is "The Greatest Loser" is because he constantly improved with each duel, but never once claimed victory.
He wins against Poseidon because the latter believes the gods to be absolute and above humanity, prideful and arrogant.
Kojirou, meanwhile, only ever sought to imorove himself, never caring for glory nor looking down on the people he surpassed to reach the height of swordmanship, he's humble and represents humanity's capacity for self-improvement.
If you just pick any random "only fucked up" historical figure, the entire theme of the fight goes down the drain.
Seriouslt, this isn't complicated.
Fine, you do have a point. Even if the philosophy of enlightenment and self-improvement is not exactly exclusive to Japanese martial arts, so it's not like Kojiro is the only choice to pit against Poseidon in that regard (especially since Kojiro himself is frequently depicted as a self-centred glory hound in many other works, with a personality not too different from how this manga portrays Poseidon).
Come to think of it, Tesla might be a better choice for that theme, given that he's an inventor, and the entire point of innovation/invention is to seek improvement. Oh, and he's apparently constantly screwed over by Edison, which means he fits the "loser" aspect as well.
As I said in the previous post, I'm not too concerned with the current Einherjar line-up because the fighters' personalities and backstories are like 99% made-up, so IMO it's going to feel arbitrary no matter who they put in there. I'm just saying that I can see why a some readers may be unhappy with the choice of heroes, which so far is pretty skewed towards East Asia (we already have 5 of them right now).
With 13 spots available, ideally, there should be 6 Eastern reps, 6 Western ones, plus Adam.

I wonder if the human will fight for the gods in this round, or if they'll simply pick another god to throw into the fray.
Definitely one Hell of a wham chapter there.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Probably
7 lucky gods vs Buddha
New chapter.
We Bleach now?
Wake me up at your own risk.I'm waiting to read again when the normal translators get to them. The one released is....not good, to say the least.
Watch SymphogearHuh I like how Shiva and Thor took Buddha’s betrayal in stride compared to all the Gods. They really don’t wish for humanities destruction.
Also Infinity Man from the New Gods.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Bishamon straight up just added kanji to his name for each god that combined with him. Zerofuku looks sick!
Hope Shiva grows his arms back. I think they mentioned that the gods had advanced healing facilities or something.
Zerofuku has some real Kid Buu energy to him.
Well, Kid Buu mixed with Android 13.
Even the initial fusion sequence of the lucky gods was a humorous parody of the way names merge in Dragon Ball when people fuse. XD
Watch SymphogearEven if the result is more like an Arrancar or the like.
Wake me up at your own risk.I just now realized this match-up is essentially China vs Japan.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Isn't Buddha Chinese?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."No, Buddhism was born in India.
Ah my mistake then, I thought he was Chinese.
So its India vs Japan.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."...same thing as last time
They still have Qin Shi on the line, apparently. Let's see if they are going to make him fight Susano-o or Fujin or something.
Wake me up at your own risk.Holy fuck your right its the same match-up but in reverse.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Alright so we got a new season visual showcasing how many fights its gonna adapt.
Huh if the current fight ends by the time the season premiers or ends, then they already have enough content for a second season.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Makes sense to end the first season on Humanity's first victory after 2 losses in a row.
It also gives the chance for each fight to have breathing room.
Watch Symphogear
You missed the other half of my argument: Sasaki is a martial artist, which includes the entire search for self-improvement and enlightenment.
