• The villain is a Romantic Asexual but is still explicitly asexual.
• The villain is aromantic but allosexual (having sexual attraction).

Would these be downplays or subversions of the trope?

Downplays. Subversion requires that the audience is set up to expect a trope to occur, and then it doesn't. (In other words, about half the time you see "subversion" on this site, it's being misused.)
