There was a failed TRS thread for this one that pointed out that it's used for a character who comes back in an Alternate Continuity.
Also the Put on a Bus tropes need work. Long Bus Trip is The Same, but More.

Most times I see an entry of The Bus Came Back, it is when a character got used in one episode of season 1 and is now reappering in another episode in season 2 because the plot demands it. They were never written out of the story, in fact, they were not important enough to get such treatment. Do we have a trope for a reuse of side characters after some gap?
