So, I decided to try out this game against my better judgement, and I got to say I like the exploration and story so far, though I often forget that Aether/Lumine can speak on their own. I'm about to go to Inazuma but I want to finish all story quests before that.
Also Baal, Morax, Barbatos...is this a stealth sequel to Fate/Grand Order or what?
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.No, the archons and a few other characters are named after demons from the Ars Goetia. So it's not a Fate reference, just both used the same inspiration.
Also I hate scarab farming. Tighnari barely helps since they only register on the map when you get close enough for them to pop out of the ground. Not helping are a large chunk are underground blocked behind a quest.
It's not as bad as violet grass or the flowers Dori needs, but it's keeping me from trying out Cyno.

So err, is Venti still good or is he this game’s HoV (super strong when released but now collecting dust)?
I'm 99% certain that Raziel knows it's not a literal reference
My understanding is that Venti is still highly rated, he's gotten somewhat powercreeped by Kazuah but as much as the meta exists in a game like Genshin he's near the top of it for his category.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnVenti's burst still deletes any encounter that involves groups of small enemies. He's actually better than he was last year, since some of Inazuma's monsters on release were resistant or immune to it until they were nerfed in later patches.
Honestly? This game is probably one of the better games when it comes to avoiding severe powercreep. So 1.0 characters are still very much viable as far as gameplay goes. Sure, they're not as shiny or fancy as newer characters, but they're still good as is. Hell, the inclusion of Dendro actually brought life back to some of them, Keqing in particular.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. It helps that the game is entirely PVE.
The higher you get above "this character works" the more tier deliberations become mostly academic.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah, powercreep is obviously less of a concern in a non-competitive game like Genshin.note
Anyway… You guys weren’t kidding when you said Liyue suddenly went from 0 to 100 at the end. I expected the fight against Tartaglia to be the beginning of the third act and, yeah, it was… only the third act lasted a whole 20 minutes and literally everything happened in that timespan. Tarta wasn’t as hard as I expected, but that might because I prepared like crazy before it. I still don’t quite get how artifacts work though… like, when do two artifacts form a set to trigger the 2-pc/4-pc? They’re all different…
Also Traveler spoke a whole sentence! Maybe she’ll deliver a full monologue at the end of Inazuma?
Meanwhile, I started the Reputation missions which… uh, I don’t know, this game already gives you a metric ton of quests and missions, not sure adding yet another layer was needed. Also did the Klee quest, which was pretty cute and funny.
PS: Still not sure why Jean or Amber had to be redesign to avoid censorship but La Signora was given a free pass. >.> Not that I complain because… oof. She gives the hottest Honkai characters a run for their money.

When 2 Artifacts from the same set are equipped, then the 2-piece effect is triggered, same for the 4 piece. Artifacts are from a set of 5 items; Flower, Plume, Sands (usually looks like some timepiece), Goblet, Circlet (usually looks like some form of headwear), and for a 2-piece set bonus, you need any 2 of these, and the same for the 4-piece bonus. For the name of the set, look underneath where the substats are.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*I've partially gone through Act III of Sumeru's Archon Quest and am now in the desert. So what brought me here? Well... it's been surprises left and right.

"There's no such thing as pure freedom in this world. Even the wind cannot blow forever."The Traveler's gonna start speaking in whole sentences during a particular quest in Sumeru
So if I recall correctly I saw some people complaining about Eula's story quest being bad a few pages ago and I just finished it...yeah I don't see what's wrong with it unless you dislike Eula as a character. If anything to me it's just kinda mid, like most of the Mondstadt story quests that aren't Klee (bad) or Venti/Diluc (good).
I feel nothing towards Eula, before or after the quest. I think it's bad because for certain things to happen the characters involved have to be stupid. Eula walks up to people with no heads up and starts insulting them in order to "teach traveller how to talk to prissy nobles" and the story seems to expect us to feel bad for Eula for how mean and prejudiced people are to her.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysHey, I liked Klee’s quest! Granted, I haven’t done the others yet…
Klee indirectly killing a person and them going "murder is okay if you're fighting the bad guys" was a bit wild but the biggest criticism I'd give the quest was mostly it's how barebone it was. Klee was cute though
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysUh, yeah, that part was dubious. Then again, I kinda expect such slightly screwed up reasoning from Paimon.
Get used to it. Morality is a bit all over the place in this game, and trying to analyze it past the surface level will just make your head hurt. If you think it's bad now just wait for Inazuma.
And I don't mean all over the place in a shades of gray way either. I mean having organizations go from "why is everyone so mean, I just want to pick berries" to "I'm okay with child experimentation."
Just don't think about it Morty!

5xThat's basically how I feel about it. Hard to feel bad for the Lawrences when all of them, Eula included with her ridiculous pride, bring it upon themselves.
Seriously, they could just have moved to Liyue and avoided all their problems, or decided to grow some damn humility and do what the Gunnhildr and Ragnvindr clans did and just accepted slavery wasn't going to be a thing anymore.

Oissu!Well at least I’m warned.
So, Dragonspine is still a hellhole, but a slightly more manageable hellhole now. I no longer fear the Cryo Cicin Mages, at least. The lost father quest is thus finally done. That said, the "beat all enemies in one minute" challenges with falling stalactites and four million cryomages and cryo archers assaulting you simultaneously, all in the middle of half-frozen lakes to make it more fun… that’s a test of patience.
Meanwhile, I got… *checks notes* Chongyun? while pulling on the weapon banner. Oh well.
…Kinda funny because there’s also a an ice-using young boy called "Changyu" in Punishing: Gray Raven.
Edited by Lyendith on Sep 29th 2022 at 6:42:58 PM
Yeah, Chongyun and Changpoo Changyu are pretty similar in that they're the characters that kind of... exist but not much else (apart from Chongyun opening the door to ice infusion meme builds of course which, to be fair, is still more than I can say for poor Changyu).
Still have a soft spot for Dragonspine even if there isn't much to encourage you to come back once you've finally cleared it out. I think the journey leading up to unlocking Dragonspine's artifact domain in particular still stands out as one of my favorite pieces of level design the game has to offer.
Aw, man. The continuation to that was a seasonal event quest, wasn't it?
Edited by KnownUnknown on Sep 29th 2022 at 9:22:27 AM
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I’d say Changyu has a pretty interesting backstory that expands on some aspects of life on Earth in PGR’s world… but personality-wise he’s quite bland and gameplay-wise he’s a pretty terrible support unit. A shame cause I like his design.
And yeah, Dragonspine’s puzzles are pretty stimulating. Makes you want to figure out how all the barriers and mechanisms are connected. I’ve only done a smal part of it yet but I’ll try to finish it before Inazuma.
So, a temporary one…?

It helps that the game is entirely PVE.

Yeah, this and it's not particularly challenging PVE.
With the exception of the Abyss, which sucks anyway, you don't need to be optimal to complete 99.9% of the game.
They didn't hate her for anything she said, if anything they were more confused by her word choice. The hostility was purely because she was born to the wrong family, which... is something that you should be feel sympathy for. Because it's an obvious injustice.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnYeah, how about convey that in a scene where she's not walking up to people and acting like a condescending prick.
