Hello! I'm wondering if one person is allowed to have multiple (well, to be exact, two) active accounts, provided that they aren't used for nefarious purposes like ban evasion or impersonation?

I thought this should be already answered somewhere, but searching the site, Welcome to TV Tropes!, What Goes Where On The Forums, and the forum rules proved futile for me (or maybe I missed something blatantly obvious...). The latest relevant forum thread I could find was from 2011. Quite a few threads talk about creating new accounts, but they all seem to be with the intention of no longer using the old account.

Since my account is only a week old, I'd like to make sure this is allowed and not get myself flagged for suspicious activity.

We don't encourage the creation of multiple accounts, mainly because it makes it difficult to track your activity and it can also be a sign of ban evasion or intent to vandalize.

That said, there's no rule against it either. Since you told us in advance, we'd have no problem approving your account.

Thanks so much for your answer! I'll do my best to be a rule-abiding Troper.
