"I definitely prefer using some magic stone or whatever to murdering a kid," Ryuko said, deadpan, "unless you've done something to me, I'm not going to kill anyone."
"So, are we not from here?" Mako asked. Ryuko's expression softened greatly at that, appreciating that Mako wasn't the best at catching up on simple stuff, the poor girl was very out of her element.
"There's some magic stuff going on," she gently explained, "but we're gonna fix it, alright? Just stay by my side."
"I know, that's the safest place to be, anyway!" Ryuko's face felt slightly warm at that, which she tried to hide by smiling at the ground and not Mako herself.

Returning to the park from the new hideout at Ryuko's mansion, Vito decided to join up with the rest of the group, feeling a strange and indescribable sensation almost as if he was near some kind of energy or aura that he didn't quite understand.
Addressing those who had gathered in the park, Vito spoke up.
"Okay, now we're all here and we've got to figure out what our next task is and why we were all chosen in this mission. God is NOT a being of chaos. He picked us all for a reason, be it for our talents or to fulfill a certain duty and prove ourselves faithful and dutiful. I have seen what my past life was like, and I know I have to atone for what I have done wrong. Seeing as I'm the only one here with no real supernatural powers or special abilities, I think I was picked as a way to redeem myself. Or at least, I hope that's why I'm with all of you in this."
Tears formed in his eyes, and Vito made the sign of the cross, whispering a Latin prayer underneath his breath before sitting down on a park bench.

Nelle nodded in agreement at Vito and Ryuko.
"Having an HQ would be pretty nice. Not only we would have a recurring place where we gather and plan things up, but it would also give an opportunity to get to know each other better...", she said as she was starting to recover from the shock of Midnight's revelation, "...But how can we get to know what the Guardians want without that becoming a wild goose chase? I mean, to me, nobody looks like a divine messenger or something...", she expressed her concerns, with a doubtful frown.
People were now starting to remember their real names or some important events in their past lifes. Jules, or now Julius, in particular, has given some closure about Loptous, that sick "alter ego" of his. Gohan proposed a possible way to deal with that murderous entity, even though he doesn't fully remember the basics behind: one that involved a magic gem...
"Well, even though we don't know the rules behind that stone, we gotta try it out anyway!", Nelle said to the group, determined.
However, Vito's return and eventual meltdown made the girl in pink's heart drop. Nelle, while she didn't really subscribe to a religious faith, being agnostic out of a lack of care was kind of familiar with the mumbo jumbo involving gods and stuff. In fact, she recalls her mom telling various stories to the children in the orphanage, and one of them involved the god she thinks the former mobster is reffering to.
Nonetheless, Nelle approaches the despairing Vito and sat beside him, gently patting him on the back.
"I don't think they put you against this multiversal crisis to punish you. They probably saw some hidden potential in you that would really help the lot of us, giving you a chance to redeem yourself even without having superpowers...", she tried to reassure him, with a small smile.

"You really think so? Thanks...I do suppose that would make sense. God probably does see a talent of some sort in me, and who am I to question His decision? We need to figure out the next plan of action and what our next immediate goal is. There has to be more out there in all this beyond this little Wisconsin town, right? After all, this is about the Multiverse."
Standing up again, Vito immediately asked Ryuko, Julius, and Gohan a question.
"So, what all do we need to resolve here in town? And after we tie up the loose ends here, should we go on the road for our next goal? We need to form a plan, after all."

Caitlin nods in agreement at the suggestions to not kill Julius. "Knowing what I've done...I can't stand the thought of any more blood on my hands."
Turning to Kaito, she says "Call me Caitlin. It...reminds me of who I used to be. And it's more of a name than 'Killer Frost', anyway."
"Alright. We'll stop at your place and grab this...gem," she says, looking at Gohan, "and we'll head to Ryuko's house."
It's then that her heart begins pounding profusely.
A massive, red-violet cloud begins forming in the sky.
"And, based on that thing, we'll want to hurry."
Noticing Julius struggling, she places a hand on his shoulder. "Just keep fighting it off as long as you can. We should be able to find a solution soon."

"Sounds like...a...plan..."
Julius's voice died out as he noticed the massive cloud. A harsh mixture of red and purple, glaring down at the town as though it were a stain on an otherwise pristine tablecloth. "What...is..."
Storm clouds, Loptous said. It's been years, surely you must know what those look like by now.
"Y-yeah, I can see that, but...why are they so..."
Evil? Loptous offered.
"That."
Well, if we're lucky, it's just an omen of things to come. If we're not, it will spawn horrifying monstrosities from the uncaring void and you will have to fight them.
Julius blanched. "F-fighting?! Again?!" A few memories reached for him, of helplessly watching from his own body as hundreds fought and died—for him, against him, it really didn't matter.
Oh, don't worry, dear Julius, Loptous said sweetly, voice like poisoned honey. I certainly won't try to kill any of these lovely folks, but if they end up in the way of a magic blast, there's only so much I can do.
Julius's hands clenched into fists. He looked up at everyone. "We have to go," he said, voice shaking. "Now."
"Kept me waiting, haven’t you? Tch. No matter. Dawdle all you’d like. In the end, your defeat remains inevitable."

Whatever inspirational speech Vito had tried to say. Caitlin. And then... the clouds in the sky. A slight sense of dread, like fog, seemed to be forming around.
Kaito looked at Julius.
"I've dealt with lots of stuff back in my old universe. From what I can remember, posessions are one of them. But I think we always kept hope in our hearts. That, along with willpower and action, can eventually solve anything."

A plan in motion, Ryuko started herding Mako back to her bike. "I'll get home and get Jeeves out of the way," she announced to the group. Enough of them had already been to her mansion that she figured she wouldn't need to be with them.
"This is gonna be so cool!" Mako cheered, "I get to hang out in a mansion and watch a bunch of people save the world! Whatever we're saving it fr-?" She cut herself off and pointed up at the sky, "oh! That's what you're fighting against, right?"
"Huh... what the hell?" Ryuko muttered under her breath. Well, at least there was something that they were maybe going to fight. She had no idea what the plan was, though.
"Perhaps if we used Shippu to fly up, we will be able to report what exactly that is," Senketsu suggested.
"Wh- you can fucking fly, too?!" Ryuko sputtered. Why didn't she remember that part?

Freeman rushed to his apartment and put his backpack and other stored stuff quickly in his bed. Immediately, he went to grab any single illegal stuff he had, going to a hole in the wall and putting some of them in there to hide it.
Alright. That should do it for now. No pesky cops finding my oxycodone and other stuff...unless they get a search warrant. Now time to go with the weirdos...wait...
Glancing at the closet that was formerly empty when he put all his clothes...was the HEV Suit that saved him countless times from certain death...and all his guns.
Wow. At least CIA could had painted my suit with urban camo if he was going to give it back to me after the brainwashing ended. If going about this place with armor that is a huge notice me sign wouldn't be obvious enough sign to arrest me, carrying an arsenal that would make the second amendment proud would do.
Freeman would suddenly hear the sounds of thunder and see the sky darkening a color...it shouldn't look like at all.
...Well, if this doesn't justify the second amendment, I don't know what else will. Immediately, Freeman went to put on the hazard suit, as he'd rather take being alive than arrested. A few minutes later, Gordon fully put on his suit.

"Oh come on, not this again!" Freeman yelled in annoyance. He didn't expected the stupid voice to reactivate after CIA and badger lady took it off him.

With no time left, Gordon rushed to equip himself with all his weaponry. Once he was done, he quickly rushed out of his apartment as fast as he could to find the guys again.

Nelle smiled a bit. It was good to see that she was able to console him.
However, things went from 0 to 100 real quickly.
"That—", she swallowed, "T-that doesn't look the nearest bit reassuring!"
A magenta-colored cloud started forming in the sky, sourly standing out.
Nelle certainly is now unnerved. And Caitlin's and Julius' warning didn't really make things better.
"I-I think we s-should go...to G-Gohan's house."

"Alright...we'll meet up at Ryuko's house. Anyone who wants to come with me, my house is this way. Mom should still be home, I should tell her I'm taking the ball..."
Gohan starts heading off, grabbing his books on his way. As he walks, he looks up at the storm clouds.
"...I've got a bad feeling about that...it looks familiar, but I don't know why...whatever it is, it can't be good. Maybe the ball can help with that, too...wish I could remember more about it..."

Gordon hurried as quick as he could out of his apartment, and holding his MP 5 in case something nasty were to come out.
I hope this kool-aid isn't radioactive or some suit. If it is, I really wish CIA at least left my damn helmet so I could not die from cancer! God, for Being a agent of the CIA, he is very dumb!
Freeman pulled out his cellphone, as he looked at the location where they were supposed to go with the angry girl. Once he checked the way he needed to go, he put it back on a magnetic holder of his suit, before continuing running.
If those who were on the park paid attention, they would see the same man with the glasses running...but now he wore a bright orange coloured suit of armor, and carried in his back a rather illegal amounts of weapons and explosives.
"Unless you guys want to die via kool aid tornado or radiation, let's get to some god damn cover right now, shall we?!"
He yelled as he sprinted past the team, and went straight to where Ryuko's house was supposed to be.
Once the group had made their decisions, Ryuko and Mako took off for Ryuko's mansion. Ryuko did her best to ignore how it felt to have Mako clinging to her back and just focused on the road.
"If you do not remember fighting in the Naturals Election, what do you remember?" Senketsu asked as they rode.
"Eh, just up to fighting against that bitch, Satsuki, as she pulled out her own kamui," Ryuko replied, "I mean, your memories started later than mine, right? You just awoke in my dad's basement when I bled on you. Catch me up on whatever you remember."
The conversation after that was mostly just Senketsu explaining what he knew, which included a few memories Ryuko hadn't unlocked yet, but she trusted Senketsu not to lie.
Thanks to riding on a motorcycle, the girls made it to the mansion before anyone else, which gave Ryuko the chance to get Jeeves out of the way.
Mako was simply beside herself. "Wow! This is the biggest house I've ever seen!" she cried, spinning in circles to see every inch of the foyer, "are your parents rich?"
"Yeah, rich enough to think throwing money at a problem is the only solution," she muttered, glancing at one of the few pictures hung up that she was there with her parents. All of the others were her parents or herself alone.

her dad insisted on. A nearby camera on the wall swivels to aim at her small group at the same time.

"Nah, Mom will probably be glad I made friends...wait, I guess she...isn't really my mom...that's weird..."
One quick walk later, and they arrive at a rather humble house. Gohan just...waltzes on in.
"Hey, Mom, I'm home! I've got some friends from school, I'm gonna show them that ball with the stars on it!"
There are rather flustered sounds coming from the kitchen.

She sweatdropped at the half-saiyan's...mom(technically, with the revelation that their lives are here aren't real ones, Gohan's mom...isn't really her mom)'s flustered groans.
"Please guys, let's make this quick!", she nervously whisper-shouted at the others.
"Hahahah, he's such a jokester...", Nelle said, reffering to Julius, making a big forced smile and a dismissive hand gesture.

Lacking anyone even really acknowledging her declaration that her friends were also possibly heroes under a mesmer, Sandra decided that she didn't need anyone else's validation on this and made her own way to the radio station.
Radio WUBRG, Hallway
Arriving back, Chandra could feel a tense energy within her. She'd come to this point and not once figured out how to actually tell her friends. Surely she couldn't just gather them all up and go "hey we're all wizards from some other universe, the multiverse has died out and something has trapped us here with false memories and we need to pack up and leave now" could she?
"You're back. We need to talk..."
The voice of Nick sent a chill down her back, he was standing there in the doorway, possibly even just silent until the optimal moment to strike at her vulnerable emotional state.
"Nickie, we need to get the whole gang together there's something going on about the sky and I need to tell them about—"
Nick tapped the screen of his smartphone and over the tinny speaker flowed the voice of the being named Midnight. It was a short clip from her exposition last night, but enough to get the gist across. After pausing the playback, Nick looked at Sandra with an incredulous stare.
"Your phone was still on after your little fall, I cut the feed to air at the crash but I recorded the rest... Is this true? You're... Something not of this world?"
"Yes. It's all true, but Nick you need to get the gang in here because Vanessa, Jake and Lily? They're all part of this too. I don't know why and I don't know why they haven't had the same experiences I've had, but I just... I know it. And I don't want to leave anyone behind if we have to leave..."
With a deep sigh, Nick nodded and wandered deeper into the building to fetch the others.
Radio WUBRG, 'Chill Zone'
It didn't take long to assemble the whole club. Jake was idling in the studio listening to the music mix that followed his usual introductions after The Morning Gruel finished up. Vanessa was still hanging around winding down from having to carry most of the aforementioned morning show on her own following Sandra's departure and Lily had hidden herself away in the supply closest to write up tonight's radio drama on her laptop. But now they were all sitting on the couches of the break room listening to the monologue recorded on Nick's phone. The expressions on their face run the full gradient between confusion, disbelief and deep contemplation. Chandra has opted to stand, trying to keep a stoic face as the reality of the situation hits home.
"Okay. So, theoretically, if this was true... Do you have proof?"
"Pft, you must of taken a nasty hit to think we're all superheros. We're just a bunch of kids from Wisconsin, that doesn't make us anything special."
With a breath to prepare herself, Sandra reached out to the mountains she felt before. Flames flickered in her palm and her hair ignited into a glorious blaze. Jake, Lily and Vanessa recoiled back, staring hard while Nick seemed unimpressed with the display.
"So this is related to the red clouds?"
"Good, you saw them too. Listen we need to get out of here, a bunch of others who were at the park that night are gathering up at a house because it feels like we're about kick things off proper and I don't want everyone left behind."
"Okay so you're a pyromancer, what powers are we supposed to have? Rest of the elements and Heart for good measure?"
Lily laughed a bit but did get up.
"I'm going to load some stuff into the broadcast van and we can go to your little superpower soiree, but if you're wrong about this I will warn you I am going to laugh."
And with that, she wandered off to prepare. Jake meanwhile caught himself staring, bewildered still and muttering under his breath.
"Jake? You've got any like, mind magic developing there? Speak up buddy."
"You're Chandra..."
"Hell yeah, you're remembering! Come on let's get the stuff we can't leave behind packed up and let's get moving!"
Chandra fist-pumped the air and walked off, letting her hair die down. This left Jake, Vanessa and Nick in the room.
"Well, better to be safe than sorry... Are you seriously remembering something?"
"Kinda... Maybe? Hey Nick?"
Satisfied with the answer, Vanessa left to work on packing up.
"Yeah I know. She's in my commander deck. And if she's right about all this, so are you. If she's right..."
"Whatever happens, we need to keep it in mind. Though... That doesn't account for you."
Their technical producer smiled and shook his head.
"Maybe I'm from another world. Or maybe I'm just Nick From Wisconsin..."
Later, the Radio WUBRG Broadcast Van
It was a tight fit, all of the gang and their most vital luggage packed into a single white panel-van next to the mobile broadcast equipment. But it was roomy enough for a hasty drive to the mansion Sandra pointed out on Google Maps. Whoever was at the wheel was thankful that the weird weather had driven most of the town indoors rather than out onto the streets, it meant the commute could be pretty quick and soon enough they pulled up to the house.
"Yo! Are... Are we early or late and either way by how much?"
It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.
A few seconds much later after the van team and Ryuko arrived at the house, they could see Freeman in the distance sprinting and huffing.
After getting near the house he stopped to lean near a wall and started gasping for breath and was sweating pretty hard.
"Note...to self....you won't beat a marathon wearing a suit of armor...and a huge amounts of guns..." He then noticed how Ryuko and other people managed to get to here faster due to using vehicles.
Gee, I sure would had loved a FUCKING LIFT!
"I hope I'm not late, because it would suck not knowing what to fucking do and run by foot god knows how much again!" Freeman exclaimed, still leaning on the wall from exhaustion.

"Oh, you must be Oni's friends...didn't know he had any..."
Gohan's (apparently false) mother

"She always does this when she cooks...c'mon, it's in here."
Gohan leads Julius to a study that looks more like it was decorated by a child than an adult. This is definitely Gohan's study more than his mother's.
"...You're looking for the Dragon Ball?"

Ryuko's father, John, says that loudly enough for anyone near her to hear it over the phone.
"Looks like ya brought some friends home, Angel. Didn't tell me you were starting to be a social butterfly like your old man."
