Final Fantasy VII Remake Spoiler Thread

Crazy thought but given the enormity of the remake's map and features, I highly doubt it'll be as unrestricted as the original game. It'd be one heck of a gameplay shift going from relatively linear environments and a hub world with a mission board to a giant world map where you can go to Kalm, go to the Chocobo Farm, go through the Marshes, go through the mine, and the story doesn't require you to go back this way for a while.

They're definitely not going to want to get rid of optional side quests.

Compromise? A good amount of this will be done in Kalm as that's your starting town, and it'll be probably be an expanded area with a lot more to do. I bet it will be the "Sector 7" of Part 2.

Chocobo Farm, Marsh, Mythril Mine, Fort Condor, and it'll probably end somewhere in or around Junon, or Cosmo Canyon if we're being daring.

Also, Intergade has Fort Condor as a minigame so I suspect that's been removed as an actual story location.

How important is Intergrade, because I refuse to re-buy this game on PS 5 to see it.

Doesn't FFVIIR get a free PS 5 upgrade? Well, except if you got it for free on PS+.

If you got the game physically the upgrade is free but the Yuffie stuff is DLC

Yeah, but that's not the same as having to re-buy the whole game like Krory seemed to be saying.

The "Intergrade" upgrade to PS 5 is free for people who own the PS 4 version, unless you got it from the PS+

The Yuffie DLC is not free, and it's exclusive to the PS 5 version.

So you wouldn't have to buy the base game again, just the DLC. Good.

Intergrade just seems to be a side story for Yuffie with some vague connections to the Final Fantasy Expanded Universe. It's probably not going to be vital unless you really want to play as Yuffie and see what she was doing during Part 1.

Something going on at Aerith's church when Zack appears. I wonder what happened to the other Cloud Zack was carrying.

So apparently, we now have two Clouds?

It may just be Zack fell into a coma after fighting a literal army and dragging Cloud into Midgar, Cloud copied part of Zack's memories and wandered into sector 7 like the original timeline, then Zack woke up after the end of Remake, got told by whoever he was staying with that Cloud went somewhere on his own, rushed to find Aerith first, and thus we get his section of the new ending... This still doesn't explain how there's 2 buster swords, but we don't have to have 2 Clouds wandering around necessarily.

Is the Buster Sword really that unique of a weapon though?

At the very least, it's custom-made, so it'd be pretty distinctive.

Maybe not? Angeal's Buster Sword had emotional significance, but it's got a different gold colored hilt on it than the Remake design, so they could easily retcon it to be the ones with the gray bolt hilts are just mass produced versions.

Just caught that new ending for Intergrade.

They're going all in on the Zack is alive thing. I'm wondering what role he'll have to play in things.

My personal theory is that he's being controlled by Sephiroth and doesn't realize it. It might be a gambit to mess with Cloud, since the timeline is already somewhat Off the Rails.

It seems like Scarlt won't be a bare-fisted monk who can match Tifa in a brawl.

So we're probably not getting the slap fight, but something replacing it. She has more reason to fight Yuffie than Tifa at this point too.

He shouldn't be able to control Zack, though. SOLDIER's all have Jenova Cells in them but are strong enough to resist its influence. People like Cloud and the Nibelheim survivors just didn't have the mental strength to resist.

Such was original lore, anyway.

Unless Scarlet buffs herself with Materia, but I doubt they'd jump through hoops to keep that part of the game.

Maybe Scarlet slaps her once, and Tifa just uppercuts her into oblivion? That's pretty much how the fight should go.

Reminds me of an old fan art of Scarlet slapping Tifa, and then Tifa flexing her arm to the size of a watermelon.

The next pages is Scarlet with her face comically caved in while Heidegger (sp) cries over her body....and Tifa makes a joke about it.

The Kick chick Turk whose pretty much Tifa but focuses on using her legs

it be a nice shout out to Last Order since she's canonically the Turk thats at Nibelheim shadowing Cloud and Zack and had been Zack's support during his missions against Avalanche as Cissnei was more his support against Genesis

Tifa's cry when Barret is impaled and super dead is pretty pathetic. Like, I know it's a blatantly obvious fakeout, but she doesn't know that. She sounds like he just tripped.

Also if Zack is alive, these fate ghosts clearly aren't actually doing their job so why did they need to die?

Isn't Zach alive in an alternate timeline. The poster is different from the main game and different flowers by the church.
