Since this is not set in the Arrowverse I'd love it if Melissa Benoist made an appearance as a more comic-book accurate Kara. There's this interaction between her and Jon in a recent comic that I'd love to see recreated in live-action
Interesting reveal regarding Onomatopoeia.

Nat dating Bruno Mannheim's son in particular is bound to become explosive.

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianSo now comics Nat has been confirmed as a lesbian. Kinda sad that her only live-action adaptation was portrayed dating a man and we won't even get to see her exploring her sexuality if the show does get cancelled.
Natalie has so many differences from Natasha that she feels more like an OC than an adaptation. Sort of like how Jon was broken up into the show's Jonathan and Jordan.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I do understand that Natalie is very different from Natasha but she's still an adaptation of her and does still take a lot from her. She's still Nat Irons, who's related to John Henry Irons, who is a youth tech genius and has her own steel suit, for all intents and purposes she is an adaptation of Natasha. Like, Bernard in the show Titans has almost nothing to do with comics Bernard, but they kept him as a gay man, and I can't believe I'm comparing Superman and Lois negatively to Titans, dear God.
Regardless, no matter how you put it, it is a bad look to adapt a queer character, no matter how loose an adaptation it is, and make them straight.
Depends on what you mean when you say "Now".
If it happened after Superman and Lois aired, you can't really fault the show for it.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianYeah considering the time it takes for TV-shows to enter production, they've already filmed all this with Nat a long while before the comics announced this thing with comic Nat.
Its not really something you can fault them for since they would have no way of knowing such a decision beforehand for something that is probably more of a spur of the moment decision with the character unless we get more information.
Comic Nat wasn't really queer until recently so at the time of filming she wasn't really a queer character by that point.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I don't fault the show for not portraying Jon as queer up to now, but while we just now got the confirmation that Nat is a lesbian, for years now she has been portrayed in relationships exclusively with other women, well before the show came to be. It's just now we have an official label.
Like, she has been shown as queer since 2016, so I wouldn't say it was too recent that the show couldn't incorporate it into their version of the character, considering the pilot was ordered in 2019.

There is the issue to consider that Natasha has been gay for a very short time. The people behind the show may genuinely not have known she was recently made a lesbian. It's a problem with making a long-running character a part of a demographic they didn't originally belong to. Hence why Dick Grayson has yet to be portrayed as a Romani person in any adaptation.
You could at least argue that Natalie is a different enough person from Natasha to be considered an original character rather than an adaptation of one.
Given how Jon Kent was split between TV!Jon and Jordan, makes you wonder which one would have come out as queer.
If they do make Grayson Romani, better be better than the first time it came up.

Wake me up at your own risk. And hey, we have Sarah who seems to be at least bi-curious.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianIdk, Nat was made queer back in 2016, the pilot was ordered in 2019. At the time Nat was not important to the plot as a character, and her romance plot wouldn't have come to be until 2021 at the earliest. By that time the character would have been a queer woman in the comics for at least 5 years. Seems ignorant at best to ignore that part of the character, since they did in fact do their research and the show does make an effort to draw from the comics while being its own thing. It just has negative implications to take a queer character, a character that there's no way they didn't know was queer, and make her straight for the show.
And on a different note, I think the only thing Jordan has in common with comics!Jon is the fact he has powers, he's a completely new character otherwise. Show!Jon has a lot more in common with his comics counterpart in terms of personality, especially this season.
I never expected to see a conversation like the one Lois and Lana had in a Superman show. Or any superhero show. Great job on the writers, director and actors.
I feel like Sam and Clark were harder on John than he deserved. I know they empathize with Mannheim, but they're also ignoring what John has also been through.
"You always have a choice". Not everyone is you, Clark. This was a clear cut case of self-defense.[[spoiler:
I agree, and it wasn't just that. The emotional moments in this episode were absolutely great.

Maybe, but John did make the situation worse when he broke in and arrested Manheim while Clark was mere seconds away from talking him down.
You're not wrong, and I can get why John feels how he feels, but in that case, he didn't improve things.

One Strip! One Strip! But that was in response to Mannheim sending armed thugs after him and Natalie.
Don't even get me started on the Unfortunate Implications of Superman castigating a black man for defending himself against a superpowered white supremacist.

That's also fair enough.
Edit: I'm actually annoyed at myself for missing that point.

One Strip! One Strip!Wait, how was Henry Miller a white suprematist?
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianHe was that Nazi supervillain all the way back from that origins episode in season 1, targeting minority communities.
So, that was the finale of Bruno Mannheim's Arc I guess. Very emotional. And is Lex gonna be the villain for the last 2 Episodes, or will he also be in Season 4?
(Let's hope there will be a Season 4)
