I hate this trope. It's not the trope's fault. It's clear to me what it's supposed to mean: A trope subverted by realistic results. How it's used on basically every page is "A thing happened." At best, it's used to mean any attempt at anything that doesn't come off. Kobe tries to hit a free throw but Reality Ensues when he misses because he hasn't been practicing. Every single media page has one example like that.
