They both feature Goku heavily in the plot, so to say one game trumps the other in Gokuness is a moot point.
It's been 3000 years…A Dragon Ball game heavily featuring the protagonist of Dragon Ball.
I mean depending on which parts of Dragon Ball we're talking about, Gohan is the protagonist.
This song needs more love. There are definitely many periods where Dragon Ball transitions back and forth between "the story of Goku" and "the story of the people whose lives are influenced by Goku."
In general, I'd say that for a long stint between Raditz and Super, Goku was more "the hero" (generally speaking) than "the protagonist," with that era loving to explore "what happens when we can't call on the hero?" narratives that put characters like Gohan and Vegeta closer to the protag spot.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I mean DBZ was supposed to be about Gohan inheriting the mantle from Goku, but japanese fans didn't like that, so Goku was brought back in the Buu saga.
Me, I was actually fine with Gohan taking over, he always seemed like a more interesting character to me.
Goku, as fun as he might be, is basically just switching back and forth between "I'm happy! I'M MAD! I'm happy! I'M MAD!" all the time as Sean Schemmel himself so fittingly put it.

Incorrect information...
Toriyama didn't feel comfortable having son be the main character.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Son Gohan or Son Goku?
Lower-case son, not surname Son.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.“My son or me?”
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie.""My son, the star, or me?"
"...yes"
“Oh okay” (Doesn’t blast you).
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Its also not a good game, which Kakarot is.
Geez, I think Fighterz is pretty overrated myself, but it's far from being a bad game. Subjective as that may be.
There's only 1 character you have to unlock & I vaguely recall you can just buy 21. SSGB Goku & Vegeta are pre-ordered bonus that can be bought or unlock after playing an extremely hard arcade mode. The rest of the characters are DLC.
I'm not gonna defend any users here, but after being KYM, Tv Tropes is one of the better websites I've been on. Not that I don't have some problem with some people here, they just never come across anywhere as bad as some people are like IGN or Gamefaqs.
So how well did Kakarot do? Anything that implies that more support for the game besides what was already announced?
Did better sales wise in uk first week then even fighterZ did
Watch SymphogearI recall it sold like 90K copies in its 1st week in Japan.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Which is one of the better launches for a Dragon Ball Game in Japan, apparently.
Right behind their fellow Dragon from Yakuza 7, natch.

Watch SymphogearHonest Game Trailers covered the game and they’re pretty brutal -
Is Frieza playable in this game?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Nah.
They can have their opinion, though they do get one Tidbit wrong with Bubbles not appearing when he does, but still.
Watch SymphogearWeirdly enough I do recall hearing about odd changes like having Goku fight Semi-Perfect Cell but apparently cutting out Future Trunks battle with Perfect Cell.
Trailer is pretty spot on. I’m still not sure what I’m supposed to get outta the community board.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."This weekend I guess I'm going to see for myself to see if the game is bad as Honest Trailer makes it out to be.
Ironic because this game is literally named after Goku.
Meaning Fighter Z is more of a Goku game than Kakarot is amusingly enough.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
