Hello! I'm currently working on HellgateLondon fanfic, but instead of good ol' UK switching locations to France. Main problem is that no one ever bothered to explain situation anywhere except London and Tokyo. So I am racking my brain trying to figure out which fractions can exist in place of canonically existing Templars (Warrior archetype), Cabalist (Wizard archetype) and Demon Hunters (Rogue archetype) in mentioned country. Some thoughts is under cut.
My thoughts
First, for the Wizard archetype I chose The Martinist Order, based on Real-Life Martinism, an esoteric and occultist society. By currently In-Universe situation, they looks like a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits, gathering occult practitioners from virtually every world's occult tradition (Neo-Pagans, Voodoo priests, Thelema adepts, etc). Main difference between them and British Cabalists is the lack of authority figures: no main center thus no unity.
For the Rogue archetype I chose the military and intelligence joint task force, prepared for invasion (In-Universe it takes some time, so Hellgate in Paris opened much later than in London), which I named as Division 17 (the number of death in European mythology).
The main concern is the Warrior archetype — I literally can't find an appropriate genuinely French counterpart for Templars. Making a French Templars looks like a lack of creativity.
