Aquaman is fucking beautiful. Every scene is a fucking money shot.
Also if the Rogues can give Flash trouble then no reason Joker can’t to Superman a little.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's one of the most gorgeous films I've seen in awhile.
Nope Terrific is the third smartest person in the world accordion to infinite crisis. Batman and lex Luther take the second and first spots respectively

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The visuals are probably the most impressive part of the film. Watching it made me wish the whole film was about fantasy underwater politics so we could have more of them.
Also Orm is a pretty great villain.
Fact he doesn’t die is pretty dope, hopefully he & Arthur team up in the sequel.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I should get around to watching that and Shazam. I'm, uh, kind of appalling at going out and seeing movies.
Hopefully Wan and co. can spice up the writing for a sequel.

Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)Half the time literally all Luthor has to do to hide things from Superman is to cover things in lead, then contrive way to escape consequences.
Frankly, there’s been established ways to hide things from Superman for ages. No accomplished villain should be walking into his backyard without knowing and being able to take advantage of them, no matter whether they’re powered or not.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Luthor also has reputation on his side, in a way that would make it look really bad for Supes if he just threw Luthor through a wall.
Oh my God I just remembered something funny.
Its been said here that Harley killing Jason is outta character for her because she's not a child-killer but recently in her cartoon she seriously contemplated killing the very underage Damian Wayne just because he was annoying her & could damage her rep.
Even when King Shark pointed out doing so would make her, to quote him, "A child killer which some would argue may be worse" she didn't really care that much.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Again even in her first incantation in the dcau. She helped Joker torture and Mind Rape Tim.
I think saying she doesn't kill or harm children is not true or having her do it is our of character .

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Sometimes. Sometimes he’s a disgraced scientist with none of that clout. Sometimes he’s both, a once untouchable man who has to claw his way back up. No matter what he is, the consistency is that he’s a physically normal man who keeps enough in step with Superman that he’s not defeated the moment he takes a toe out of his apartment.
That’s because it’s the writer’s responsibility to ensure that the people in superhero media, especially the villains like Luthor or Toyman, who don’t have powers are still written as though they belong in the universe they’re in.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It helps that he's really good at designing technology. He can make suits that fight superman head on
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Logically if Luthor & Joker can't at least measure up to super-humans then Batman should also be fucking useless on the League.
He shouldn't get any passes either after all.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Also last year it came out that he had worked with the director of the recent Mission Impossible movies to pitch a Man of Steel sequel, but the studio passed on it. He does very much want to be Superman again, but it doesn't look like the studio has a clear idea of where they want to go with the property.
Wait I found the scene.
Its disturbingly hilarious about how she is casually bragging about her ability to kill a 12 year-old & that the actual shark man is the only to point out the moral implications of such an action.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Harley Quinn cartoon is a black comedy. That's to be expected. In fact, Harley generally lives in a world of black comedy.
So pretty much every super-villain in any show then.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."...no? Not sure what you are saying; the supervillains in Arrow and The Flash don't live in a world of black comedy.
…I need to check out that show somehow.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. If there’s one thing DC does better than Marvel, it’s their animated shows.
It's been 3000 years…Also animated movies....... & games.
Ah black comedy, the forte of every villain.
Batman certainly can't make stabbing someone in the eye with pen kinda funny.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."No argument here. The DCAU was the MCU before the MCU was the MCU, and it was honestly better, and I'm saying this as someone who really loves the MCU.

I really, really need to watch Doom Patrol, Watchmen and Harley Quinn.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)The DCAU was so good that a lot of fans to this day still think that it's the best representation of DC's universe and characters, something I'd mostly still agree with. It doesn't get everything right, but looking at the bigger picture it was a really ambitious project that had a really big influence on western animation as a whole (well mostly BTAS I think, I'm not sure about the rest).
Speaking of the scene of Superman and Harley.
With how inconsistent the comics are, I wouldn't have been surprised if she would have fought him.
I think Mr. Terrific is.
Though I’ve always wondered how they quantify that, and what that even means. Is there a test? Does being smarter than anyone give Mr. Terrific a membership to super-Mensa?
It definitely doesn’t mean he (or Luthor) can’t be outwitted, at any rate.
