You'd think having people buy the things in person at a brick store would solve the problem.

Gamestop tried to do that, but because it was all being handled from an offsite stock (not to mention limited quantities for each store) it went poorly. Best Buy, Target, and now Walmart meanwhile, don’t want the crowds.

What a terrible year to launch a new console this is.

Agreed. There’s a reason why I actually didn’t put a PS 5 on my Christmas list.

Plus, you know, Covid-19.

I can’t help but wonder if scalpers buying this much stock is gonna bankrupt them or not.

Probably not either, they can always sell them at market price if it comes to that.

Best Buy tried selling them this morning, and you know the rest. Bot swarms, crash, and now it looks like they never launched while corporate offices claim their stock is depleted.

x6 Honestly, COVID-19 wasn’t really gonna impact whether I personally wanted one. However, I do understand that others would want a new console during these challenging times and it really upsets me that Scalpers are even doing what they do.

Dual Sense controllers are reportedly breaking already due to issues with the springs used for the adaptive triggers.

That's unfortunate.

Odd though, you'd think they would have ironed out such things in stress testing.

How many faulty controllers are we talking about? Because when you sell a million things, there's bound to be some outliers.

A little off-topic but for those who intend on utilizing their PS Network accounts into their P S5s, do they keep the account they had since the PS 4 (of not earlier provided they had P S3s)?

I'm pretty sure you'd keep the same account, especially since the system is backwards compatible with the PS4 and lets you re-download your digital purchases.

Alright but my personal concern is that I have an account from my PS 3. Would it still be good for P S4s and P S5s?

Yes, I have used the same account on PS 3 and PS 4, and I see no reason it wouldn't carry over to PS 5.

Yeah, me neither, I don't see Sony messing with accounts like that. They will want you to keep the same account.

So...who wants their PlayStation 5 looking more like a proper PlayStation?

Because with these PS5 faceplates from dbrand, it can be done.

Also worth considering that some time ago they stopped calling it a Play Station Network account and started calling it a Sony Entertainment Network account, implying that the same account would be used for all Sony services (not that I have any idea what else it offers), and not just tied to the Playstation console series, let alone a specific individual console.

I like that a lot more than the white, but probably not enough to fork out whatever they're gonna charge for it plus shipping.

Scalping PS5s has already become less lucrative, likely as a result of the Christmas season being over. The online prices have dropped off quite a bit.

They're still being sold a couple hundred over MSRP but the ludicrous peaks of $1200 are gone.

Not me nor my mom! Finally managed to acquire one on Walmart and it arrived today.
