Alice – Kart Krew

“If I'd ever made a particular point of following directions, then I most likely wouldn't be here,” Alice responded, looking over at Eileen again. “I respect your concern. Truly, I do. But I assured you I was capable of handling myself. Now granted that was a very reckless move on my part, but I'm personally not one for condoning violence against clearly timid and frightened creatures.”

She glanced at Ahriman again, then sniffed critically. She then jumped back up into the cart, giving Mollymauk's claimed mouse-rabbit a careful scratch under the chin before sitting back and letting The Cat curl up on her lap. A grin at the demonspawn was delivered as she momentarily allowed herself to share his admiration of the tiny little creature in his clutches, before she cleared her throat and continued to address Eileen.

“In any case. As far as I'm concerned, I'm rather disappointed by your own penchant for violence so far. I thought you to be rather respectable, but after that blatant reprimanding for the lack of applied lethal force I may have to reassess my perception of you a little. Unless you can prove otherwise. But that's not exactly my problem, now is it?”

“Your point has long been made,” The Cat yawned, blinking and stretching a little from his position on her lap. “Meanwhile, the others have returned...?”

“Oh! Deepest apologies. I lost myself there a moment,” Alice apologized, smiling and nodding politely as Leah and the rest began making their way back. “I hope all went well? If it's any consolation, you were remarkably quick regardless.”

Hinata – The Clearing

Curse? Oh, no...

“It's looking pretty bad...” Hinata admitted, her expression of worry deepening tenfold. “You don't have to go though... we can figure something out, I promise... we'll just have to be quick...”

In truth she wasn't sure what would happen with Usalia, but abandoning her (even if she had wilfully suggested it herself) just felt too wrong to even consider. It was with a sudden sense of urgency that Hinata's face seemed to change into one more determined, and she eventually stood herself right by Usalia despite her warnings.

“If we can find ingredients I can help you make some. Even if it's just a few spices or something. I know how to cook... a little... and if it helps any...”

Eileen-Cart

Eileen shook her head and sighed as Alice said she seemed to have a liking for violence.

"I know a threat when I see one child. And please, despite the fact I'm helping you, you shouldn't look up to me. We Hunters...bear no honor, not after some of the things we have done since their first origin in Yharnam."

Though Molly's comment...seemed to earn her ire. All she did was stare at the demonspawn, but Ahriman who was closest to her, could notice that her right hand seemed to twitch and could even see her fingers becoming slightly larger and resemble a claw of a animal...before she quickly clenched her fist, and her right hand seemed to return to normal.

"I'd rather she end up with a future and a better life than end up a accident that shouldn't had been born...rancid beast..."

Not even giving Molly the decency of a response, she turned her feather cape and move near the group returning from the chest.

Disgusting, wretched, useless beast.

Day One

Christie wasn't quite as enthused as Leah was about that whole ordeal- though she was very impressed by her weightlifting prowess -but on the whole, was glad it was all over and done with. "I just hope none of those things got a good look at me. I don't want any of them after me when they wake up...if they wake up."

“I hope all went well? If it's any consolation, you were remarkably quick regardless.”

Christie smiled on returning to the little party. "Oh, yes, it...well, went about as well as could be expected, honestly. These two are very capable fighters- surprisingly nimble, too. Erm, is the little pirate miss returned yet?"

Day Two

"I have it. It almost flew away in the breeze. What's Bladyzamek?"

The little fellow gave a great sigh of relief, putting a hand on his chest to steady his heart. He trotted over to Shoto and tapped the aforementioned writing on the map. "That's the name of the forest- well, no it's the name of the human village named after the hunting lodge IN the primaeval forest thataway. My family were on a pilgrimage there to find the Fern Flower, but we got mobbed just now by the Psotniki, a gang of elven delinquents. Vicious, nasty troublemakers, they are. Oooh...if they've got ma and pa, I don't want to THINK about what they're doing to them!"

Then Usalia made mention of a curse on her that made her a threat to her friends, a curse that hinged entirely on her need for a curry. The little man perked up. "OH! Oh, I think I could help with that! Let me see here..." From his side, he untethered a string of little pouches and spread them on the grassy ground as he began sifting through them all. "My father's always saying, "No self-respecting krasnoludek leaves the house without gathering local ingredients". Sometimes my friends and I manage to pinch a few more exotic ingredi-AHA! Here we have it!" He triumphantly held up a pouch marked Curry containing a fistful of the powder. "If it'll help your curse, miss, I'll gladly give it over. Saves me from my folks catching me with it. This stuff's pretty expensive in the bigfolk towns, though, so use it sparingly."

Alice – Kart Krew

“Well that's just rude! Alice huffed, crossing her arms. “Judging by his appearance? My word—I've seen far stranger manner of creature with manners far worse than Molly... here– you don't mind me calling that, do you?” she questioned anxiously, looking over at Mollymauk in a searching manner. “Heaven knows I've made that mistake before. I can just keep calling you Mollymauk if you wish.”

Christie's reply, meanwhile, earned a relieved smile from the girl and a short nod of acceptance, though she frowned a little at the other woman's further questioning.

“No, not at all yet. Hopefully she shouldn't be much longer, though. As much as I'm entertained by her being as all grown-up seeming is she is I admit I am a little worried. Though I suppose that's hypocritical of me, thinking about it...”

She seemed to ponder this for a moment, before pushing the Cat off her lap and hopping down from the cart, briskly making her way over to where Eileen had moved to as soon as her feet hit the ground. With the Cat being startled enough by this sudden manoeuvre to disappear, he soon reappeared on her shoulder—manifesting in full just as Alice cleared her throat to get the Hunter's attention.

“Miss Eileen,” she began, voice carefully neutral. “I'm sorry for my disagreements with you, but it needn't be a disadvantage. I understand your concern for me—and to a certain perspective I also understand your aversion to Mollymauk—but again, it shouldn't have to be a cause for trouble. So in this case, shan't we just work together on this? As opposite minded as we may be in some ways we can surely balance out in others. It may do good for us both.”

There was a somewhat unsure tone to her voice, as if she herself hadn't entirely figured out whether or not it was an agreeable idea.

“That's... just my suggestion, of course. You're much older than me, and you've seen a lot more. But then again, we've come from very different backgrounds, I think. And it's all very much relative. Given the circumstances, that is.”

She-Hulk-The Woods

Jenn shook her head suddenly as if snapping out of a trance. The hell? I just..drifted away. Like my attention was focused on something else. It must have been important to make me zone out like that...right? Right? Shaking off her sudden unease, she hurried over to the little group in time to head about the cruse and get an eyeful of the little man who was running about the clearing.

"Well, this all looks damnably weird. Did you say you need curry? Is there any part of it that would tide you over, or do you need the whole dish?," she asked the young woman. Jenn kept a close eye on the tiny man as well. He seemed pretty agitated, and whatever he was worried about might still be around.

The Woods

Damar looked over to see what the commotion was about... and promptly found himself looking at a tiny figure throw a packet of curry to Usalia. He walked over to where the rest of the gang stood, so as to get a closer look at their new guest. The Cardassian quickly looked the diminutive person over, trying to identify his species.

Is he a gnome? No. Too small to be a dwarf, too. That could only leave...

"Krasnoludek." he thought out loud, in a voice just above a whisper. Shaking his head, he heard what his tiny new companion said about the nearby village, clearing up the nature of 'Bladyzamek'.

"You said there's a village nearby?" he asked the Krasnoludek. "We should stop there to pick up some food and other supplies. After all, we've got a long journey ahead of us."

Gdonya, Cart

Coming along the path from the docks was a familiar petite girl, shadowed by a man that was unknown to the cart crew- top-heavy with beady eyes, a red bandanna wrapped around his head, a crescent scar across his cheek, and a swirl of a large tattoo poking out from his tattered shirt. Though Tetra could pass as an innocent little girl should the need arise, the man all but screamed pirate with a capital P.

The two of them were deep in conversation, and Tetra looked none too happy about it. Though their words initially didn't carry to the cart, it was hard to miss when Tetra turned on her heel, jabbed a finger at the man, and yelled "Take one more step away from the ship and you'll be hopping back to it on peg legs!"

The man recoiled, then reached out his arms beseechingly. "I'm just sayin', Miss Tetra, this ain't the sort of thing the cap'n needs to bother with. We can just send Senza along with them, yeah?"

"I can also make Senza the acting captain instead if you backtalk me one more time." That seemed to put the man in his place, and Tetra turned her back on him. "This is a covert gig, y'hear? Covert. I don't need any of you brutes makin' fools of yourselves- and, by extension, a fool of me! So hurry on back to your crew before they set off without you."

With a resigned "Aye, Miss Tetra...", the man hauled his way back down the road.

Tetra sighed to herself, then walked the rest of the way to the cart, seeming much brighter now that he was gone. "So, we all set to go then?" She leaned against the cart's side, eyeing the chests that Leah carried with a gleam in her eye.

"They were probably a bit distracted," Leah said, "I didn't really give any of them time to look around." Once they were back with the rest of the team, Leah was reminded why she felt the need to volunteer to begin with. She could hear all of the bickering, from Tetra and her pirate to Eileen and Alice talking about Creator only knew what.

Really, Christie was in desperate need of some people who could just get a job done without being all distracted.

Leah stayed back for the most part, letting Christie and Tetra discuss travel plans as she continued holding the chests.

Clearing

Shoto handed over the map without further comment, not really interested in the discussion on curry. As long as Usalia didn't try to hurt anyone, she could do whatever she liked.

He did nod as Damar asked for directions to the town. "I should probably get a change of clothes," he muttered, mostly to himself as he glanced at the still torn and stained outfit he had brought with him from home. It was not comfortable to wear, that was for sure.

"O-oh, you misunderstand, sir," said the krasnoludek, for that is what he was. "Bladyzamek isn't that close by, it's about a couple hundred miles to the south. The nearest village to here would be, ah..." He went over to the map and scanned his eyes across it once or twice. "...Ah, here we go. Potok's just a stone's throw away from Gdonya, or there's a village called Stego to the north, three hours at most on horseback."

He turned back to the group with a bright smile, but that smile quickly started to fade. "Does that mean, eh...you bigfolks wouldn't be able to find...Nah, you're big adventurer types, you've probably got way more important things to do."

Kled-Woods

Well, it seemed that Kled kind of daydreamed away as he had no idea what was going on for a bit with this Krasnoginignomething kid saying something about a town and his family being kidnapped. Eh, why should he care about that? Kid and his family are trespassing on-

Wait, knife eared thugs? ON HIS PROPERTY?! THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE NO LOLLYGAGGING ON HIS LAND, NO SIR!

"I swear if I get me hand on these stupid smug thieves I'm going to put their heads on a pike for daring to come to my land..." Kled grumbled to himself at the thought of these delinquents, before the person as tiny as him said they got important things to do.

"I'm not a adventurer, I'm a great general! But yes, I got some things to do actually...like shoving a axe to the guts of those trespassers that's for sure!"

Eileen- Streets

Eileen stayed quiet as she stared Alice with her mask obscuring her face. After the girl stopped speaking, Eileen could only sigh and then respond to her.

"...Fair enough. I'll do my best to tolerate.....him for now," Eileen seemed to struggle to not say the word It. "For your sake and the others too. Just be a good dear to me and not get in any trouble from now on, hm? Next threat that could come next on our trip might be less cute, as far as we know..." After finishing saying that, Eileen letted out a small, somewhat creepy laugh, before turning to Tetra.

"Yes, everything is ready, as far as I'm concerned. I also got the food supplies you asked me for. Should be good enough to last for a few weeks." The hunter said.

"We do need to find the nearest village, but there's no reason we shouldn't be able to help you find your family as well," Caitlin says. "Besides, I'm not sure I'll exactly be welcomed in Potok with open arms after what happened in Gdonya," she mutters, significantly quieter. "This would, however, require us to split up and reconvene later on." She seems concerned; she's subtly biting her lower lip.

"And dial it back a bit, please; you'll scare him," she says with a sideways glance in Kled's direction.

"Alright. So who's helping the little guy and who's gathering supplies? It'd probably best if I stayed out of any of the nearby villages." There's a bit of nervousness on her face; it's clear she hopes she doesn't have to elaborate for any of the newcomers.

"My name's Caitlin, by the way, in case you were wondering." Addressing the krasnoludek, she asks "What's yours?"

Cute Assassin

"Very impressive, Miss...Tetra, was it? Yes. You will be most valuable in helping me find my beloved."

She places her hands on her hips, a satisfied smirk on her face. "Alright. So I take it we're heading to Starling Village next?" There's a sense of impatience in her voice. "I've been put on hold long enough. I don't like to be kept waiting, and I can't risk something's happened to my beloved in my absence."

It's clear that Nyssa won't take no for an answer. At least, she thinks she won't, but she probably has no choice in the matter if she truly wants help.

"I'll head into town." Damar said. "After all, I've got the most money on me, and feeding this group..." he began, looking around. "Won't be cheap." He then turned to Usalia, the look of concern on his face for the young were-rabbit was obvious. "You should probably come into town, too. You know, in case you need curry at a moment's notice." He looked around at the group again. "So... anyone else coming?"

Cart

Ahriman nodded when Tetra asked the group if they had the things they needed.

"For now, anyway." the sorcerer began. "Even if these tomes don't provide me with the information I need, they shall at least provide some entertainment." He then turned to Eileen, and whispered. "And at the very least, they're hefty enough to whack that demonspawn upside the head with."

Clearing

Shoto glanced between Caitlin and Damar. It wasn't evident on his face, but he was torn. He didn't want to separate from Caitlin, just in case more idiots showed up, but he needed to finally buy some supplies.

"I should go too," he said to Damar, "I don't know what to buy, but I should buy things."

The Cart

Leah let out a sigh of relief when it seemed that the group was finally done arguing and were ready to actually get going. That was quickly soured when Nyssa went back to her fucking 'beloved'.

"Yeah, we get it," she groused, "one true love, willing to confiscate our little job for your relationship. Would you mind cutting it out before I puke?"

She nodded as the options were presented. "I'll go to town as well. I have a little money of my own, and it's been too long since I had a good fight anyway." She glanced at Caitlin, obviously concerned. "If you want to come along, you should. I can promise you no one will hassle you while you're traveling with me."

She idly wondered how the heck Damar had known what type of being the tiny man represented. Of course, he was especially tiny to her, so perhaps if she was shorter she'd be able to recognize him easily.

Alice – Kart Krew

“Thank you ever so kindly,” Alice sighed in response to Eileen, relieved that she'd agreed to be agreeable (her head spun for a few moments after her brain had phrased this). “And I'll be dreadfully disappointed if the next one isn't as... well, adorable. I swear if that thing were any less timid and not involved with piracy I'd have scooped him right up in an instant– oh!”

Tetra's return cut her short and put a smile on her face, and for all intents and purposes her brief nap appeared to have renewed her tremendously since the small pirate last saw her. Even the Cat seemed to be restless with anticipation, and after a few more seconds of clinging atop her shoulders the grinning feline vanished and instead manifested himself next to Molly instead.

“I believe we are—I know I certainly am. If everyone's business is all taken care of. It's all rather exciting, isn't it? Though the cart's quite plain. Not the most esteemed carriage since...” she trailed off, going a little red as she realised she was essentially rambling about nothing and clearing her throat awkwardly. “Excuse me. Nevermind. I'll just get back on the cart...”

The Cat grinned tauntingly at her as he moved aside from her spot, but she hadn't the energy nor the mood to glare back at him. The creature did settle back onto her lap by his own volition, however, so she supposed that was something. She wasn't quite sure of what to do with herself until she found herself looking at Molly again. It was rather hard not to.

“I... believe I asked you earlier if you were from the circus? Well if you're not, then what is it do you do exactly that you do? I...”

She frowned, clutching her head in confusion as the Cat chuckled amusedly. A small vine crept out of her sleeve and whispered up at her, but she slapped it away with a scolding that made it shiver and shrivel back from wherever it had originated from.

“Stumbling over your words, Alice?” The Cat droned once she had taken her hand away. She spared him a glance, tugging at the collar of her dress uncomfortably.

“Either it's one thing or another. Could be lots of things. Today has been eventful. Forgive my nonsense, Mollymauk. It tends to follow me like a plague,” she apologised, smiling hesitantly at the demonspawn as she stroked the Cat's back absentmindedly. “At least you got little Branch out of it. At this rate this whole party of ours will have some sort of bizarre animal.”

Hinata – The Clearing

“I can come...” Hinata hesitantly offered, briefly smiling at the little man before nodding slightly at Damar and Usalia in acceptance. “We shouldn't split apart if we don't have to... a-and I want to make sure Usalia-san's okay...”

Her hands (which had been fidgeting with themselves the entire time she had been speaking) suddenly clasped themselves together and fell limp in front of her, and she managed to look the krasnoludek solidly in the eye. It wasn't a look of sympathy, nor assurance. It was a look of a promise; of sheer and utter conviction in her words.

“We'll find your family. I promise you,” she said slowly, half so as not to let herself stutter and half so as to make each word absolutely clear to him. It was a rather impressive tone for the previously timid 12-year-old to speak in. “And I... never go back on my word...”

Her voice had started to falter at this, and her gaze had dropped to the ground again. It took her a second to realise she was blinking back tears, and she shamefully rubbed them away. She knew she couldn't focus on that now. That there was nothing she could do.

But it still hurt.

"Yes, yes..." Mollymauk waved it all away, listening to both Alice's questions and Eileen's begrudging agreement to a cease-fire with the same mildly amused smile. "This rancid beast will take the first step towards friendship by offering you a fresh start." He said, and waited until Alice wasn't looking to blow Eileen the most unkind of raspberries, disguising it as a throat clearing sound when Alice looked back. "And you can call me whatever you want, young Alice, any name fits when you're me."

Leaning back and taking up as much space as possible on the cart, Mollymauk waved over at Tetra. "You could make me assistant captain. I'm great at the sea— or so I assume. Either way, I haven't seen the sea in a long while. Or been on a boat. In fact, I'd go as far as to say I've probably never done either. I'm excited to do both in one day!"

As Alice asked him more questions, Mollymauk produced a set of playing cards out of nowhere, flipping and shuffling them with ease. "The world could use a bit of nonsense every now and then. For example, the answer to your question, dear, is that I'm from everywhere..." He mused, flipping one of the cards, placing it in his mouth and then pulling it out from behind Alice's ears. "... and nowhere. I do everything..." He spun his hands and the cards disappeared. "... and nothing." He said, the cards now appearing in his other hand.

"But I like to see myself as an entertainer." Looking over Alice at Tetra, a snide grin tugged at the corner of his lips. "Do you have instruments in your boat, dear Captain? I'd wager that after a night of drinking and playing, we'll all become the best of friends. As long as I get to play, of course." He added, mimicking the act of strumming a guitar, humming to himself.

Day One

Tetra returned to the cart to find Christie staring at her, eyes almost bugging out of their head. She was very impressed to see this barely-tween girl cowing a brutish pirate twice her size, and any doubts as to her being a captain were all but evaporated. After that, the group seemed about to descend into the usual bickering habits, so Christie quickly cleared her throat to get everyone back on the same page. "Yes, well, no time like the present. It'll be some way to the capital, let alone Starling Village, so why don't we talk as we ride?" With that, the crew would presumably clamber into the cart, then one quick word to the carthorse and they'd be off and away.

The motley crew met little resistance passing through the gates and would soon find themselves on the bumpy and sand-strewn open road. The air was filled with evening birdsong, as high above the blue of the sky turned ever deeper and darker. From a time, a few scattered drops of drizzle would fall on the travellers' heads- the remnants of the zmij-made storm from the afternoon -as the silhouettes of the woodlands drew closer, and the city of Gdonya was left far, far behind.

"...which is why I must get to the capital sooner than later," said Christie, finishing her explanation to Eileen and Ahriman of exactly who she was and what the job was about. "Having said that, though, I suppose it's important to think about rest. Should we wait until we get to an inn to sleep, do you think, or just camp out under the stars?"

Day Two

The krasnoludek gave another sigh of relief as Caitlin made it clear they wouldn't leave his family unsaved.

"My name's Caitlin, by the way, in case you were wondering. What's yours?"

"Musztardy, ma'am," he said, doffing his little cap, "Butelka Muszartdy. It's nice to meet you all."

“We'll find your family. I promise you. And I... never go back on my word...”

Musztardy smiled brightly at this but seemed to pick up on the fact that something was making her sad. Perhaps she was scared over having to go up against elf bandits. He went over to place a reassuring hand on her kneecap. "It makes me very happy you say so, miss. No matter how things turn out, I'll be grateful to you."

Alice – Kart Krew

“Well I have to say you're certainly entertaining me,” Alice giggled, ignoring the Cat as he rolled his eyes at her obvious wonder towards Mollymauk's card trick. “How lovely. It's nice to see someone so... jolly. You have an admirable zest for life, I mist say.”

“She just likes the card trick. Don't overthink it,” drawled the Cat dismissively, though his exaggerated tone suggested he was merely teasing her. “You have an extensive familiarity with card games, don't you Alice...?”

“My favourite was always the Heart suit,” Alice admitted, nodding in confirmation to the grinning creature. “Oh that– that ghastly Queen. I wonder how she's keeping?” she seemed to inquire of the Cat, dripping her voice down to a whisper.

“Depends how well they're preserving her,” the Cat responded in an equally quiet tone, earning a snort of amusement from his mistress. “All been quiet so far. A rarity.”

“Quite,” Alice sniffed, before straightening up and politely clearing her throat. She noted Molly's mimed guitar strumming, and smiled—peering at his hand movements and trying to figure out if he actually had experience or not based on that.

Not the best way to work such a thing out, but nonetheless.

“Hmm. I doubt much that they'd have a piano on board. Perhaps some sort of flute would suffice...”

“Or a gong, perhaps.”

“Waterproof harp.”

“Cannons.”

“Oh, you daft old thing.”

They soon enough set off, and Alice seemed to pipe up once they began to trundle onwards with barely curbed enthusiasm. The Cat merely snorted and lay his head upon her lap so as to sleep, but it was clear by his pricked up ears and gently swaying tail that he too was in a good mood. It was only Christie's question that snapped Alice out of her excited trance—a few strangely patterned butterflies drunkenly flying out from her hair as she whipped her head around to face her.

“Oh, camping out sounds lovely! Though I suppose a nice warm bed wouldn't be any harm either... hmm, I suppose I'll vote for camping if only for the novelty of it. Though I wouldn't mind either! Simply having somewhere proper to sleep at all is enough for me.”

Hinata – Clearing

...Naruto-kun...

Hinata initially seemed to be lost in thought, but the words of the kraznoludek soon brought her attention back to him. His name made her blink confusedly, and she struggled to visualize it in her head—an effort cut short anyway by the contact to her knee. To which she promptly blushed and shuffled back a step.

“...Y-you're welcome. I'll try my best... so there won't have to be an ‘either way’...”

The others want to help, anyway. Come on, you can do this, she mentally added. Even if you fail, then... you still have backup.

Woods

Damar listened to what Hinata had to say about not splitting the team and nodded.

"Normally, I'd agree with you." he said. "But the truth is..." he began, knowing that this had to come out eventually "That Caitlin is a wanted woman. A certain... quirk of hers forces her to steal body heat from others to survive. This lead to a few deaths, and I think you can see where things are going from here. So the reason I suggested splitting up, was so that those of us who DON'T have prices on our heads in Atlantis could see if the village is safe or not."

On the Road

"It makes no difference to me, whether we camp or find an inn." Ahriman said. "When you have traveled as long as I have, you learn to become rather... adaptable... when finding rest."

Carting

Leah let out a soft huff as Christie got them back on track. Right, more important things to worry about. Still, she wasn't too pleased to be stuck with another lovestruck fool.

While conversation about where to go next started up, she shrugged and announced, "I've been living out in the woods for the past year, so I don't really care where we stay."

I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."

Gdonya

"Good work, the lot of you." Tetra nodded first to Eileen and Ahriman, then to the trio that had retrieved the chests. "My men should be setting off soon, and if we're lucky they'll have Syrup's crew hot on their tails."

The young pirate also seemed satisfied with Alice's recovery, her features softening for a second. "Don't hesitate to rest again if you need to, y'hear? I don't want anyone falling ill on my watch."

Even Molly's usual nonsense couldn't put a damper on Tetra's improved mood, though when she addressed him it was with her usual furrowed brow. "The only place you'll have on my ship is its figurehead. No doubt that ghastly mug of yours would do a fine job scaring off even the most hardened of water-weaving criminals."

She'd learn one of these days that granting Molly a riled response was exactly what he wanted, and that her best course of action would be to ignore him instead. One day.

With the pleasantries all settled, that only left the sparks between the two women that had accompanied Christie. She had already mediated between them, but Tetra added on to her words, unwilling to let lie the possibility of a schism in the group- a serious schism, at least. "Aye, let's leave any issues until we're well-rested and well-fed. An empty stomach and a cranky mind never made anything better."

With that said, Tetra jumped and clung to the wood of the cart, her feet wiggling for a brief second as she pulled herself up and over, balancing herself with confidence on the cart's raised side. That is where she remained as the cart took off, her gaze oddly solemn as Gdonya (more precisely, Gdonya's port) rolled slowly out of sight.

On The Road

Tetra appeared lost in thought when the topic of rest was raised. One may think it was the silent considerations of a captain planning for the future, or they may think it was the increasingly tired look of a young girl encroaching on her bedtime. Both were correct.

Still, when she spoke, there was no sign of weariness in her voice. "An inn costs money and leaves witnesses, but guarantees the amount of food and sleep needed for the next leg of our journey. We'd risk rain or wild animals if we were to camp, but Syrup would have a much harder time following our trail. I'm more concerned about her than an empty stomach, so I say we camp." Realising the bossiness of her tone, she forced a smile and half-heartedly extended an olive branch. She wasn't officially the captain here, after all. "Course, I'm willing to hear any arguments against it."

Eileen-Road

Eileen only gave a disappointed glance at Leah's dislike of Nyssa's quest, before looking at the bow-wielding woman.

"Do not worry, you did your part, and now we'll do ours." She assured Nyssa.

Eventually, they moved on to the road, as the Hunter sat with her arms crossed inside the cart, listening to the explanation from Christie.

"I see. That explains why they want to hunt you down then." Then she asked them about where to sleep. The inn would had been her first choice, but it seems out of their reach.

"Yes, I fear camping out might be the best choice for now." She nodded to Tetra. "I am willing to be a night guard for any threats while you folk rest. Who knows what could wait while we are vulnerable. Besides, the nights in Yharnam were long, so I'm used to staying awake."

Kled-Woods

"Well, what if scaring him is my intention?!" Kled frowned at Caitlin before hearing Damar. Wow, even he isn't that blunt!

"Hah, that is one way to drop the news mister scaly general! Anyways, I guess I go for the supplies! Gotta need to make sure my mushroom juice is fully supplied!"

Matilda Wormwood

"Then I'll stay with Caitlin so she doesn't feel too alone," said Matilda stubbornly. "You won't mind that, will you Miss Caitlin?"

Matilda walked over to Caitlin and took her hand. "When I get the chance, I'll read some more books. Maybe one of them can help with your condition! You never know until you look."

On the Road

Mollymauk did everything but stay quiet on the road, often cracking the occasional joke ("Eileen, does your mask come in other animal forms? I'm feeling rather bull-ish today!") and going on and on about some of his past exploits ("Of course, it wasn't really my fault that he had found himself in that hole, so I felt no particular inclination towards pulling him out of the pit— especially after it was bottomless!"), but by the end, he had settled back to quietly playing with his cards, or strumming his invisible guitar, singing softly to those around him.

"Trzymaj mnie bliżej malutka tancerka..." He sung on a different dialect, waving his head and right hand along with the music. "Policz reflektory na— Oh?" He stopped on a dime, realizing that they had finally stopped their incessant travelling. Immediately, Mollymauk jumped out of the cart, landing on the ground with the gentlest and softest of thuds. He adjusted his cloak, making sure to pull it out of the cart's path. "Stopping here sounds wonderful. I claim that spot under the tree's shade." He said, pointing at a random tree nearby.

"And I also offer my services for the night's watch." The Demonspawn added, leaning against the cart and resting one hand over the hilt of his scimitar. "I've quite the experience when it comes to warding off people in the dark of the night. And plus, I hear I'm an excellent watch companion. I can even read your fortunes, if that'll sweeten the pot."
