Convincing people through brute force worked well in Naruto, but here that's kinda hampered by Hachimaru being demolished in a single strike by most people he meets.

Seems like the story is trying to address the Strangled by the Red String issue that the whole Samurai/Princess system can bring about, by making it clear Hachi wants to protect An because he wants to, not just out of obligation. It's a pretty sweet chap but if it's true that the story was planned for 100 chapters that means we're approaching the halfway point already… feels weird…
Latest chapter up:
Nanashi is back somehow... and it looks like he's a for real Samurai?
One Strip! One Strip!I know Ata is the unrivaled, peerless samurai.....but damn. I did not see that coming.
Huh… Is this… actual tension? I wasn't prepared for that. >.>
I wonder if being basically back to his pre-samurai situation will make Hachimaru depressed or fuel his rage even more…
Nice to see Nanashi back, I was afraid Kishimoto had forgotten about him… her… them?
My money is they land on "him," on account of somehow being An's brother.
And oh yeah, Seven Is Nana. Been missing that pun this whole time.
An's brother was a different Nanashi.
I honestly preferred it when Hachimaru wasn't powerless like this. I hope this doesn't stick. All you people who complained about it being uncool that he didn't remain powerless can get fucked imo.
That's what they want you to think.
Of course it's not gonna stick ("The Bad Guy Wins, the End" wouldn't make for a very compelling conclusion), but it can make for an interesting call back depending on how it's handled.
That we'll see.
I think I'm just getting blowback salt from the direction Edens Zero is currently taking.
Make sure to close your eyes then. Salt hurts.
One Strip! One Strip! What direction is it taking?
Kind of a dark and hopeless one. Rob probably likes it, I don't because I read shounen manga as a palette cleanser so I can watch shit like Parasyte and not be overwhelmed by depression and anxiety due to my bipolar disorder.
It’s impressively dark for a Hiro Mashima manga.
The heroes are beaten, one last an arm, & the MC himself got shot in the head & is explicitly confirmed to be killed. Sure he’ll come back of course but actually killing him so brutally is pretty fucking ballsy.
Also Silent of course this isn’t gonna be fucking permanent. Do you not know how story-telling works? This is the series darkest hour, it has to be dark so when the sun shines on the other side, it will come out looking all the more brighter.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
I was gonna defend myself, then I realized we were talking about Eden's Zero, and not this comic.
.... I'm surprisingly optimistic about a series where things have gone so completely against the main characters, but then again, FT often handed them victories, so I admit I'm liking how things are going here. There are consequences for their decisions, and it's gonna take some extreme measures to fix things.
Plus, it's so different from the previous series. I wouldn't want it to happen all the time though.
One Strip! One Strip!so does anyone else think we're rushing towards the finale of sorts?
Secret Signature…Damn. I might pick it up again just by curiosity. ò.Ô
As I mentioned above, if the series was planned for 100 chapters we're approaching the halfway point. If it's gonna be canned… then yeah, this could be buildup to the climax I guess.
I mean, I think Kishi has said that Samurai 8 is only suppose to be about 100 chapters or so.
Also I kind of don't like this turn because it just means there's going to be a bullshit excuse for why Hachimaru gets fixed and out of this. I wish Ata didn't say his tech was a permanent damage causer and it would just be a matter of getting Hachimaru his key back. It makes it less likely for some BS Deus Ex Machina like Acala himself fixing him because you just KNOW that's what its going to be.
Honestly Kishimoto has planned the series so I hope he has something better in store than 'Acala' magically fixes everthing
Chap 41…
…Okay, what the hell happened here? >.>
When does a man die? When his body discorporates and becomes a little stone ball? No! ...A man dies when he is forgotten! - Hachimaru, kinda
I really appreciate by the drama is being dealt with by the characters having issues just...talking things out like functional people.
