I can't imagine that there's any way you couldn't be aware of what has been happening of late but I feel compelled to tell you. Maybe it's just my nature or maybe it's because I find the facts— the very few facts I know of to be comforting. In any case, it wouldn't be right to expect anyone to discover a solution if they don't understand the nature of the problem. Unova is where it began; a herd of embroar ran rampant and set everything ablaze. There seemed to be no end to their power or rage and every effort to stop them was nothing short of absolutely fruitless. What's more, this rage and ferocity began to affect other wild Pokémon in the region and much of it was evacuated with the exception of scientists and those who refused to abandon their homes. The chaos left much of the region unrecognizable. It was only when similar incidents began to occur in other regions that the scale of the problem began to be understood. Of all the losses suffered in this world, I believe that one of the most jarring was that sacred bond between Pokémon and Trainer. What was once confined to the majestic beasts of the wild began to erode even the deepest friendships almost overnight. Yes the Pokémon Trainer is a relic in today's world. I'm not certain there are many left but a lot of the blame for that lies in how the problem was addressed. While others sought shelter in their homes or moved about the Earth to survive, others still decided the best solution was to be assimilated. With the help of a man named Bill they became Pokémon themselves. I don't know much about the process. I just know it was an option many decided to take. My own solution isn't any less radical. Someone must seek help from the guardian of Illex Forest. The cause of these events lies somewhere in the annals of the past. I'm sure of it. I can't accomplish this alone so whether you're a Pokemon , a trainer or just a person who really wants to see the chaos end, I could use your help. Tread lightly and remember, this isn't our world anymore.

In case it wasn't clear, much of civilization has dwindled and many towns have been, for lack of a better term, swallowed by nature. Natural disasters are common. Type doesn't give nearly as much of an advantage as it used to against a wild Pokémon due to the fact they're basically roaming powerhouses.
