MK vs DC sold relatively well, anything MK did. Midway bankrupted because of a lawsuit related to another game
Uni catIf nothing else, MK vs DC was sort of the dry run for the storytelling style that’s now standard with Netherrealm games, and it resulted in a very nice Alex Ross piece.

That reminds me of an interesting way MK 12 could go: Both endings of Aftermath are canon and converge in a timeline scale Mortal Kombat tournament or, if you're not against Liu Kang and Shang Tsung once again duking it out personally, a war between the two timelines.
Either would take the edge off what is, to me personally, the biggest issue with MK 11's ending: That it effectively negated 9 and X without the purpose in doing so that 9 had.

Yea, there's a lot you can with those endings.
I still can't believe he actually drew that. MK being penned by Alex Ross, what a concept
I learned something the other day I just realized I never told anyone here about, nor recall seeing mentioned.
Has anyone seen the meteors that occasionally fly by in the background when you're in the Towers of Time? If so, did you know that (a) they appear on a fixed schedule, and (b) if you input a code while it's going by you can unlock a hidden tower?
The meteors appear ten minutes past the hour every two hours, every odd- numbered hour Eastern Time (7:10, 9:10, 11:10, etc). So even numbered hours of you're Pacific.
When the meteor is going by, enter Left, Up, Left, Right, Left, Up, Up, and a single-opponent tower will appear. This Tower is expensive to unlock and challenge, but the reward is a Lv 4 Jinsei Augment and a single skin for the character you face, a skin that would normally only be available through online play in the Kombat League. You also get some stuff for the character you play as in the fight.
It has to be a pretty tough tower if it features missable content
Uni catSingle opponent with about 4/5 modifiers that progressively appear throughout the fight. So, yeah, bring some healing Konsumables or whatever you use for hard fights.
I know they are very unlikely to do a repeat guest character but imagine if they added Kratos from the new game, i wonder how his gameplay would evolve with the axe and all that.
Plus, Sony could maybe allow him to be on multiple consoles rather than just a console exclusive but hey, this is just fun speculation.
Uni catDOA has guest characters returning & so did Smash Bros. There's no real reason why they couldn't get Kratos to return. Although I seriously doubt they'll let him be featured in multiple consoles in factoring cross play. Which I didn't even know MK 11 even had

Think the next one will be exclusive to Playstation or they'll have to think of characters that'd be good exclusives for the Nintendo and Microsoft sides?
Wake me up at your own risk.I feel like with a greater emphasis on the competitive scene/esports, multiplatform fighting games have largely moved away from console exclusive characters since they usually have to be banned by default. I feel like S Fx T was the last game that game that had them.
I'm pretty sure Street Fighter X Tekken was the last game that had console exclusive guest character. Which was pretty stupid that BA Megaman & Pac-Man were console exclusive
I wonder who will be the next guest fighter in the future, we have horror icons, sci fi chararter and now actions heroes...
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Ash Williams is still in Limbo, so that's one loose end that hasnt been either confirmed nor unconfirmed. There are some leaks that said Deathstroke and Ellen Ripley could be our next characters but i think just recently they got debunked with the movie skins arrival so i have no clue what to expect
Game could be done KP 2 but there are still 5 slots empty so who knows.
Uni catNot that I ever liked Shinnok to begin with, but since Mileena's back what are Quan Chi & Shinnok's chances? In Shinnok's case, he already has a character model to work with.
So, the Ash deal may have fallen through because there’s an Evil Dead video game in the works for next year.
Suddenly Fire God Liu Kang feels a little less out of nowhere.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Raiden could transform into a Forza next game.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I'd much rather they make a new game at this point, then put Ash in. At this rate, we'll have more guests than returning characters.
Find the Light in the DarkSo, where are Sonya, Johnny and Kitana's god forms?
Wake me up at your own risk.A rights issue?
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Johnny killed a god, he doesn't need one.
It's been 3000 years…Well sonya ending we see them as gods so.....
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
Armageddon did at least stall Midways collapse but the ill fated team up with DC sealed Midways fate due to all the crazed restrictions
granted Midway was in trouble due to its own stupidity and wasting money on things.
The 3d era the general consensus was Each 3d game got Better up to Deception... but Armageddon was considered a step back due to trying to cram all the characters in, leading to ALOT of clones and cut corners 'Cue Motaro the Minotaur'
The Real problem came in that Armageddon was at the end of the 7th console generation... you know when the Ps 2 dominated but was going to be supplanted by the Wii come the 8th
essentially Armageddon was gonna be last gen game on New gen hardware....
It didn't do Great... but it did okay.
