Powered by friends? Needing 'dorks'? Just making the vials of essence on his belt work took Ersir years; his enthusiasm began to rapidly dwindle as the conditions piled up. As his interest broke off, so too did his analysis, leaving him back in the almost familiar state of needing to explain himself. Although the hostile one - Ashur, right - obviously knew some things he didn't. Definitely too early to just leave, especially with so much unfinished work to secure before it was safe to do so.

At the mention of taint, Ersir couldn't withhold a derisive snort. "Superstition and ignorance. I can count on one hand how many times I haven't been chased away after some idiot got the village riled up on my evil ways." He practically spat the last few words, but was quick to relieve his tension with a short sigh and a deep breath. "Of course, I'm used to it -" his tone of voice begged to differ, and even through the mask, his look at Ashur was hardly soft. "- and you probably are, too. You're a necromancer, right? I'm sure you know how it feels." Although he tried to keep a clear mind, Ersir still had some distaste for necromancy, even if he was no better, and his souring mood hardly helped. He tried to keep it out of his voice; focusing on the unfamiliar deck Aeva had brought out helped, giving his rampant curiosity something to focus on.

Ashur sighed and withdrew a little to be almost pressed up against her Superion.

"If we had a mind person I could show you..."

She stopped, took a deep breath and pondered whether to go full storytime. She'd mess up the retelling surely, get details wrong and worse case scenario just make the others consider the filth to be a good thing... She'd always been told that worst case scenarios were unlikely but then again what else could you call the invasion?

"Can we get out of here? I think a big bug is coming going by the buzzing in my ears..."

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Aeva frowned and listened herself... though to be homest she couldn't tell the difference between normal and large bugs on this bug ridden jungle of a plane. She holstered her deck and patted the Goliath on its snout. If she knew anything though it was to trust people. "Sure, how about you climb on here. You got a camp or something you ca lead us to?"

Ersir perked up at the idea of a camp, and his mood softened somewhat. As it happened, he was rather hungry, not that he'd say that out loud; the annoyi- Ashur would probably take it to mean he wanted to eat her arm or something. He glanced down at his legs while muttering on some tangent about how much he needed to exercise that even he wasn't really paying much heed to, then nodded and waited for the others to climb on first before he looked for enough room to join them. As he did so, he looked up at Aeva, desperate to continue distracting himself before he said something uncouth. "While we move, I'm interested in, uh, why you left your home. It sounds like a..." Would he be laughed at, or worse, for saying 'nice place' after all the necromancy talk? "...place with lots of work." Smooth.

Ashur silently tried to clamber onto the fox, before realizing that she still had three Myr out and really, really couldn't stand the thought of leaving them behind. So she clambered off the fox and picked up the small iron one on the floor and placed it on her free shoulder while she gave the Superion a hug.

"Back in the bag, okay?"

The Superion's body dissolved in a dissipation of mana and Ashur caught the lifeless head before it could hit the jungle ground. With her companions now safely either stowed or riding her shoulders, she got back over to the fox and clambered on again.

"Was that question for me or Aeva? I would rather not tell my story so offhand..."

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.
