Sasha Vs Rek
"I still have a chance here," Sasha told herself."What a shame. All that work," Rek remarked to his opponent, "For nothing."
He held up his arm, "I activate Tar Bone Pitfall!"
Sasha looked at his now face-up trap card, shocked.
"While I control the field spell Tar Bone Graveyard," Rek explained as Zielgigas quickly began to sink into the ground, "When you summon a Ritual, Pendulum, or any monster from the extra deck, I can use this card to reduce it's attack to 0, and negate its effects." (2650-0)
Sasha stood in horror, with no more cards in her hand. There was nothing else she could do.
"My turn," He remarked, coughing as he drew his next card.
"Slicer! End this."
The blade-wielding tar man raised it's blades, rushing towards the trapped Zielgigas and Sahsa with a burst of speed.
In one clear cut, it sliced Zielgigas in half, sending a gust of wind towards Sasha that knocked her to the ground. (1400-0) The tar pit surrounding the duel disappeared.
Sasha got up slightly, looking at her now glowing hand. Wisps of yellow light were emerging from it and disappearing into the air. After only a few seconds, she collapsed once again.
Rek approached his fallen opponent, taking out a card from the side of his duel disk. He flung it into the ground next to her, forming a portal. Sasha began to glow even brighter before vanishing, the particles that were emerging from her entering the portal before it disappeared. The only thing left of her was her duel disk lying on the ground.
"There goes another loose end," Rek remarked as he picked up the duel disk, "And now, we have some bait."

"I'm honestly kinda here just to watch the rest of the tournament," Sam admitted, "Got my invitation from a lottery-type thing. Didn't think I had a chance of winning, but hey, basically front-row seats."
"Somehow I ended up getting chosen to replace that Billy guy who beat me first round, got a really good hand in second round, and now I'm here."

“I’m... kind of the same way, really. I was in the Duelist Club at my college, and they randomly selected one of the top 8 members to enter, and... I got lucky, I guess.” Mellie half-shrugs, an abashed smile on her face. “I still sometimes feel like I’m just here on luck, but winning two rounds has kinda helped with that.”

"Breathing problems, huh?" Kara looked at Yuria's neck with what might have been curiosity, or sympathy. At least her own medical issues had been at most potentially debilitating, not life threatening.
She takes a nibble from her own plate before returning her attention to the question "For me I think the organizers were just hoping a local would make for an interesting side story, or they needed someone to fill in or something. Never been in a real tournament before, but I wanted to give it a try before I end up too busy with a 'real job' to play card games, ya know? And if I actually won, some cards based on my parents would be kind of a cool keepsake..."

Jason smiles a tad at Kara’s statement.
“Can’t say my reasons are as spectacular or noteworthy...just your average Hoosier guy hoping to win a different tournament in a different way.”
He scratches his head, “Needless to say, someone just kinda came up to me when I got into town, handed me a ticket, and bolted. Couldn’t rightly turn down free lodging and a free chance to improve myself.”

"Managers suck. That's why I'm here. Well, I guess I kinda enjoy being here, but..." Allin said. He was quite different currently, almost unrecognizable with the lack of makeup or fancy clothes, just dressed in cargo pants and a hoodie, his hair tied up and his glasses drifting down his nose as he at some sashimi. "Oh man, this is good. Never tried it before, always thought I would get some parasite from raw fish or something, but this might well be worth it if I do." He gleefully dipped the tuna sashimi into soy sauce before eating it. "Hmm... As for cards, maybe something like a new link for World Chalice... A link 5 Lee maybe? Would certainly be fun, though it might not help the consistency... Maybe Charmers, but they have too many things that need to be reworked for them... Oooh, consistency boosters and some modernization for Ritual Beasts."
Restaurant
"Well, I would just make some more decent Ghostrick cards," Sam said offhandedly as she checked her phone. She finished off her drink and sat up.
"Alright, I'm gonna get going," She announced, "Gotta check in with family and all that stuff."

"Alright, see you." Yuria said.
She thought abkut the duel today. She was really dangerously close to losing. I still have much to improve. The competition is only getting tougher from now on.

“Yeah, later.” Jason waves as Sam departs.
He finishes tapping in some things on his phone before cracking his neck and standing up.
Today wasn’t easy...and the quarterfinals won’t be any easier.
“Well, I’ve got a few more adjustments to my deck done, so I should probably go and grab some shuteye too.”
He too begins to walk out, paying for his meal. “Best of luck to all o’ ya.”

Back after a long hiatus
"Yeah, I should probably get going too. De-stress before the next round and stuff, hehe. Big day tomorrow." After a brief awkward pause, Mellie gathered her things and made for the door, but turned back towards the table before she left. "I'll see you guys tomorrow! Good luck out there!" And with a cheery wave, the red-haired girl headed outside, back towards her hotel.

Yuria said goodbye to other duelists and paid for her lunch. When she headed out, she saw a woman sitting on a motorcycle. The woman had a metal disc attatched to the back of her white biker jacket, and she had blond hair sticking out from her helmet. Nearby, Rooke and Knightley were looking at her. Knightley's eyes were full of disapprovement.
"Hello, Jen. What brought you here?"
The woman turned back and opened her visor. She then handed some card to Yuria.
"Gabe asked me to deliver them for you. You forgot these at home."
Yuria looked at the cards. Mermail Abyssmegalo, Abyss-Scale of the Mizuchi, Abyss-Scale of the Kraken, and Sea Stealth Attack. "Thanks, Jen. I owe you one."
Jen smiles. "Break a leg, Yuria. Farewell." She nods at Knightley before riding off. Knightley simply lets out a "hmph."

"Oh, yeah I guess it's that time already" Kara confirmed when she checked the time on her phone, grabbed her stuff, payed and headed for the hotel for the night.

"Well I guess I'll be making my way back too then. Stay safe all, and good luck." And with that statement, the pop star paid his bill, and made his way out of the restaurant, taking in the fresh air outside.

The radio hummed with heavy, pounding metal as Jack knelt beside his motorcycle. He took a wrench, adjusting that screw, this one and that. He had heard of Sushi, but frankly? Eating raw fish just felt like it was asking for some sort of disease. He turned around, grabbing another tool and getting to work, his half-derelict duel disk laid out on a leather mat beside him as he checked the oil of his bike, humming along to the music.

The Sushi group, with the exception of Sam, managed to get back to the hotel at roughly the same time. Just in time to witness Zach, Allin's second round opponent, check out with an odd look on his face.

Jack heard the distinct sounds of someone kicking an empty water bottle behind him.
"Nice bike ya got there," Said the familiar voice of his previous opponent, Tina.
She seemed to have acquired a new duel disk, a black, gauntlet-like model. On her face was a particularly hateful glare.

"Not feeling well," He remarked plainly, taking up his luggage and quickly moving to leave.

Jack looked over his shoulder. "Thanks, it was my Dad's." He went back to work,grabbing his iron wrench to work at one of the nuts around the muffler, making sure to tighten it. "You gonna be sticking around then?"

The disguised popstar made his way back to the hotel, a bit lost in thought as he made adjustments to his deck. Actually making it this far... Honestly pretty great. I wonder... Could I possibly actually win this? Would be pretty great...
Yuria took a little drink before speaking.
"I have been confined to a science facility for a decade because of my breathing problems." She pointed to the machine attached to her neck. "So when I finally get out, I want to make a big splash in the world."
