Jo nodded to his opponent as he drew his next card, glancing at it and then at his hand as he racked his brain to formulate a plan. He still had Giant Ogre on the field, true, so he had some degree of safety, but he couldn't be sure of what his opponent was capable of until he saw it for himself.

"I summon Gouki Suprex in attack mode, his effect activates which allows me to special summon out Gouki Riscorpio in attack position as well!" He announces as the blue and red pair somersault into the ring from the sidelines.

Monsters: Gouki Giant Ogre (Right EMZ, 3000 ATK), Gouki Suprex (Middle MMZ, 1800 ATK), Gouki Riscorpio (Rightmost MMZ, 2300 ATK)

Contiunuation

"I'll continue my turn by having Gouki Suprex and Riscorpio serve as Link Material, this time I call out Gouki the Heel Ogre!" He announed as red and blue swirled together in a whirlwind of color, the tempest finally settling to reveal a familiar purple oni wielding a spiked club. "You know the drill, Riscorpio and Suprex hitting the graveyard means I get to search once for each, so I'll add Gouki Ringtrainer and Gouki Rematch to my hand." he continued as he drew the cards in question and added them in.

"Now to press on, I'll special summon Gouki Headbatt from my hand by discarding Twistcobra! And with that, I boost my Giant Ogre's Attack by Eight Hundred!" He cried out as the purple batlike wrestler somersaulted out from nowhere and landed upon the Gigantic Warrior's shoulder, giving a quick grin and a guts pose to the crowd watching. "Next, I'll link summon using my Heel Ogre and Headbatt, bringing out my Link-3, Gouki the Great Ogre!" He added on, not quite finished as the Batlike fighter divebombed into the purple oni, the two swirling together as well before revealing the black armored halberd wielder once more.

"As long as Great Ogre is on the field, all monsters have their attack points reduced by their defense points. And since Goukis and Links have zero defense, they're unaffected. Now then, I'll enter my battle phase and attack your Weather Painter Aurora with my Great Ogre!"

Byron

"Trap, GO!"

A sentence that more than likely filled countless people with dread.

"Storming Mirror Force! When you declare an attack..." He gestured upward. "All of your attack position monsters are returned back to the deck!"

A shimmering forcefield of energy appeared around his monsters.

Byron Vs Jo

"And Byron activates a devastating mirror force trap!" Kayla announced, "If this goes through, Jo's Gouki team will be reduced back to square one!"

Jooooooooooooooo

The very moment he had let loose the command to attack, Jo knew he was about to get smacked. Still he let it fly, the Storming Mirror Force shimmering to life and bouncing both of his monsters back to his extra deck in a torrent of swirling winds.

"Damn it... alright, main phase two and I activate Gouki Rematch, bringing back my Gouki Riscorpio and Gouki Twistcobra in defense position. With that, I end my turn." He said with a grunt as the two brightly colored fighters joined their Batlike compatriot.

Monsters: Gouki Twistcobra (0 Defense, Middle), Gouki Riscorpio (0 Defense, Middle Right), Gouki Headbatt (0 Defense, Middle Left)

Byron

Alright, progress! He drew a card and looked art it, eyebrow cocked and held it up. "I summon The Weather Painter Snow, and then use her effect to place The Weather Aurora Canvas on my field, right where Storming Mirror Force used to be!"

The adorable, little painter appeared with a flourish of snow, and the trapcard appeared behind her as well, right in the middle zone as she went to the far right.

"Now, I'll use Sunny Canvas to banish her for the turn, and instead, bring out Weather Painter Sun!"

The little girl vanished and was replaced with the bright and jovial portly man with the bright energy coming off of him. (1600/400)

"Aurora! Cloud! Sun! Attack his monsters!"

And so the monsters held up their forms of attack and sent a multi-colored stream of energy at the three monsters.

With 0 Defense to each of them, the Goukis could only briefly glance up before being smacked down by the assorted Painters, each wrestler crashing to the floor and vanishing. "When those Goukis are destroyed, I get to search a Gouki Card for each, as per usual." Jo intoned as he began to rifle through his deck. "I search out; Gouki Cage Match, Gouki Riscorpio and Gouki Twistcobra." He added the cards to his hand as he spoke, casting a wary eye over the field.

Byron

'Alright, step in the right direction, just keep it up from here and you're golden.'

"I end my turn!" he shouted, waving a hand. As he did, the fluttering of snow fell and Snow appeared, curled up in defense position.

"Alright, I draw. And during my first main phase, I activate Twin Twisters, pitching Gouki Heel Turn from my hand to pop both of your face downs!"

Byron

...Yeah, no way there big guy. This may bite me in the ass but-

"Trap, go!" he shouted, throwing a hand forward. "Dark Bribe negates your card effect, though you get to draw as compensation!"

Joooooooooooooooooo

"Yeah, I figured I'd give it a shot anyway." Jo grumbled as he drew his card and shrugged. "Alright, first off I'll play Gouki Cage Match!" He announced, setting his field spell into play, the iron bars shooting up around the duelists and monsters like, "then to continue with my turn, I'll use Gouki Ringtrainer's effect to special summon him to my side of the field, bringing Gouki Thunder Ogre back from the grave in the process!" Once more, the elderly warrior took to the stage, walking on with the battered and beaten electrifying fighter in tow. "Next up, I'll summon from my hand Gouki Suprex, using his effect to summon out Twistcobra as well!" He continued, the blue and green pair taking to the stage once again, posing and mugging for the crowd.

As they did so, Jo pressed his fingers to his throat and made a hissing sound before spitting out a cloud of green mist. "Alright... next up I'll use the one I'd been intending to save for later on. But there's no time like the present, is there?" He asked as he held his hand out to his monsters. "Link Summon! I use Gouki Thunder Ogre and Gouki Suprex as material to summon out my third Link-4! My Strongest Monster, the Pinnacle of Strength. The Lord of the Ring!" He called out as Thunder and Suprex looked at each other and nodded before they began to spin, multicolored twisters taking their place and merging together, spinning faster and faster. "Come forth, one who stands above. Come Forth, oh King of Hell's Cell! You, who are equal to none, a true Majin! A true Kaiser! Come on out, Gouki The Master Ogre!" He cried as the tornado dissipated and revealed a caped, muscular figure standing atop the cage, looking down upon field below.

"Ah, crap." He mumbled softly to himself as he looked between his opponent and the gigantic, horrible Pro Wrestler abomination he just summoned.

He took a deep breath and gestured for him to keep going.

"Alright, since Suprex was sent to the graveyard, I get to search again, and I'll pull out my third copy of Gouki Re Match. Then I'll use Head Batt's effect to discard my Riscorpio, summoning him to the field and increasing Master Ogre's attack by 800!" He called out his combinations as he drew, discarded and summoned, Master Ogre jumping down from the top of the cage in conjunction with Headbatt behind him.

"Now, with 3600 Attack on board, I'll have my Master Ogre attack your Aurora! Go, Master Ogre, show them who rules this ring!" He called out as the monstrous fighter lunged forward towards the painter.

Well. He sure did give it his all. But in the long run, sometimes giving one their all just wasn't enough. Byron watched as the massive figure of Master Ogre stormed his field. He knew it could attack all of his monsters. Gouki's were tough, he bitterly thought to himself.

Ah well. He thought to himself, a sense of zen overtaking him. If anything, I can definitely say I tried. Weather Painters are fun but...hmmm.

A pause in his thought process.

...Oooh, Maybe Naturias-

BOOM!

Byron: 3600 —> 0.

Yuria looks at the last battle of the day. Jo wins decisively again. Is there any opponent that can give this guy trouble?

Let's hope I won't have to face him anytime soon.

Jason whistles. “Damn...Gouki doesn’t mess around.”

He chuckles. “Helluva match though.”

Arena

"AND IT'S OVER!" Kayla announced as the duel concluded, "That's the official end of Round 2 everybody! We'll see who among our 8 remaining duelists will advance to the Semi-Finals tomorrow!"

Winner's Circle

"Dang," Sam remarked from the back of the room, "You know, I thought he might have had a chance..."

"Top 8, huh? Not too shabby." Yuria says.

Gabriel must be boiling with jealousy.

“Just one more step toward victory!”

Jason laughs heartily. “Top 8...now things’ll get serious...”

Arena - Victory

Byron would soon find Jo standing over him with an outstretched hand and a wide grin on his face. "You did well, that was a good match. I had wanted to save my trump card for later in the tournament but... well, you forced my hand." He nodded and smiled broadly as he helped the other boy to his feet.

Byron

He stared at the hand for a moment before he returned the grin and nodded his head, reaching up and grabbing onto it, helping himself get up. "Well, shoot, when you're against Gouki's, you gotta go hard or go home, right?" He chuckled. "Great duel man, that was one of the most fun I've had."

Arena

"Excuse me," Said a voice behind Jo and Byron. He had a formal vest on a sleeveless shirt while his hair was black and short. Notably, his right arm was completely black, with a plastic texture on it. It seemed to be some kind of prosthetic, with the outside being fake skin.

"You are Byron Carmikel and Jo Garcia correct?" He asked them politely.

"Ms. Kilman needs to speak with you."

Arena

"Uh, yeah, what's this about?" He asked with a raised eyebrow as he looked to the new arrival and then back to Byron. "Well... I guess we've got time?"

"What does the commentator want to say to those two?" Yuria asks the others.

Byron

"Ah..." His eyes flit to the new arrival, to Jo, back to the new arrival, not ENTIRELY sure how to think about this. It seemed....off?

"Well, it's not like I'm going anywhere...?" He asked, shrugging his shoulders after a pause.
