Oh, nice, it'll be 24 episodes, too.
^From what I understand, Rimuru adopts the body of a woman he met.
Also, I don't think the voice on that trailer is Rimuru.

It's been fun.Rimuru was a man when he was still alive and is reincarnated as a sexless slime without a sex drive, he only remembers being attracted to women. His Human form he later learns always lacks features but he settles for androgynous teenager (he could morph it to look different though).
Fuck yeah, Milim is here! This is a good day!
Huh, they're sure playing up Shizu in the promotional materials.... folks are going to be surprised.
Like other's said, Rimmuru was a man, got reincarnated into a slime which don't have sexes. Later his human form is based on a woman, but it's an androgynous version and he can turn both male and female at will.
Well everyone else beat me to every post so I've got nothing more to contribute except expansion. Rimuru is a genderless slime, but identifies as male since that was his pre-reincarnation gender, but his human form is androgynous with a tilt towards female due to the gender of the person he consumed.
The voice in the video is heavily implied to have been Milim's due her appearing at the end. Given her appearance along with Gabil's(the lizard man in a previous picture) and Ramiri's(the fairy), this means we're likely gonna get all the way to the Life in the Royal Capital Arc which is when Rimuru visits the city with Freedom Association HQ and meets the kids Shizue was training.

I hope they get at least to the gathering of the Demon Lords since that's where the first part of the series gets resolved.
I'm hoping they do justice to how terrifyingly badass Rimuru comes off in the Birth of a Demon Lord Arc when he wipes out that army of 15k, summons Diablo and his two minions, and finally fesses up about both his past life and being friends with Veldora.
Regarding Life in the Royal Capital arc... It's pretty interesting. Is it the first, second or the third arc of the series or no?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."
Late to reply, but I dunno. It's the 3rd in WN I believe, but the manga is taking a VERY different route that's apparently based on the LN. Like...All of the stuff involving Charybdis is 100% new.
Ah! So the manga is utterly different than the light novel? I'll take note on that.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."No, it's different from the Web Novel (the original story published on the internet) and follows the Light Novel (the remake of that story published in paper).
And I wouldn't say it's "utterly" different. The main story beats are the same, some things are just added or changed slightly.
Additional info for the cast members of Tensei Shittara:
Junichi Yanagita Chikahiro Kobayashi
Dunno who they are but I felt intrigued.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."So I got LN 3 and Manga Volume 7 and confirmed that the manga pretty much follows the LN damn near to the letter barring some things being much more detailed in the LN such as explanations about where Gabil and Souka live now and where Vester's lab is(all of those are in Veldora's Cave) and Rimuru now having some pet insects in Zegion and Apito the latter of whom provides him the honey he uses to pacify Milim(it also explains that regular honey is very poor in quality and somewhat poisonous).
Question. I enjoyed volume one of the light novel but I felt it moved a bit slow so I haven't read the other volumes. Does the pacing improve or is it still pretty slow moving?
The pacing gets a bit better I'd say in Volume 2. I think one issue is that Volume 1 shifted between the current action and Shizue's past so you had two different trains of though going on. Assuming this is the issue you had.
No that's not it. It's hard to explain but the pacing just didn't feel right to me. If it really does improve from book two onwards I'll definitely check it out though.
When you say moved slow, what moments do you mean in specific?
Like the time between reincarnated and meeting the dragon and the gap between leaving the cave and meeting the goblins. Once the goblins showed up it picked up from there but there were still bits I found slow like once they got back home from the goblin kingdom or whatever. Like I said it's hard to put into words but I still feel like it moved pretty slow.
Anime is out, and the first episode is... good. Like, really good. It's loyal adaptation and the visual direction is so fun! I love the Great Sage imagery, and the quirky image spots. I'm really feeling good about this adaptation.
Also, it's gonna be 24 episodes, so that's quite a bit of story they can adapt.

Good to hear that it's a good adaptation so far. Haven't seen it myself yet but what are your thoughts on the voices and things like that? Also might want to correct your post. It's 24 episodes, not 14.

The voices are good, Rimuru especially. Great Sage sounded a bit different in my head, but it's a good voice and consistent with how it was described in the novel.
Oh yeah, I meant to write 24.
Nice! i will try to watch the anime to leave what are my thoughts on it. i hope it doesnt falter apart in the next episodes.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Nifty. I'll have to check it out when I get home. Maybe this season won't end up a total wash after all.
It's been fun.I quite enjoy the first episode, but something tells me that the things I like aren't going to last.
For what it's worth, I loved the interactions between the slime and the tsundere dragon, but I don't think the character will continue as a slime, despite it being more charming, and I don't think the dragon is going to be around for the whole thing either.
Still, it was fun to watch. I hope it keeps this up.
Alright, first episode impression:
It was a great one IMO. It starts... Rather tragically but in the second half, it has a rather great and amusing moments. Particularly Rimuru's chat with the machine that give him some skills or his interaction with Tsundere dragon. The animation is rather neat too and that final scene about his assistant destroying Rimuru's computer is a bit hillarious. I hope the quality doesnt dip in the next episodes.
@The Lovecraftian I know how that feel man. Thats why I'm keeping my expectation low and hoping for the best for this anime given the track record of the director and the studio after all but still, I'm still hoping that it could maintain its great quality or slightly improve it in later episodes.

Character designs
...Is Rimuru a girl? Rimuru looks and sounds like a girl
