Sign-Up

This is the Discussion thread for BOUND (The Tag Crossover), of course. You can use this thread to plan, chat, joke, and etc. If you're not a part of the roleplay but are curious about it, check out the sign-ups in the link above, and ask any questions you have there. You might know this already, but try to limit any off-topic chatter so it doesn't dominate the thread. Not to stomp down any good times, just that it's a discussion and it should keep on track, y'know?

Also, this group has a Skype chat! If you want to be included in it, you can add me on Skype (my username is 'Truth') but if that doesn't work due to how common that name is, you can either PM me directly with your name so I can add you instead, or ask one of the other players of this roleplay - trust me, most of them are already there. It's handy for quick communication and general camaraderie, but if there's something important you'd like to discuss, it might be better to talk about it here since then everyone would be able to see it.

Important Info

Information that's important. Specifically, I'll add in roleplay/plot relevant info whenever it's made available or when I feel it should be mentioned. Any challenges, the current setting, rules, etc.

Current Trial - Trial 0: Press The Button
There's a big red button in the middle of the Rest Room. The first person to press it will be sent back to their home, along with their Bondmate. No special conditions; it's just a button.

    How Bonds Work
A characters' Bond is their connection to each other, a crucial similarity that bridges their souls. While the Bond does not keep them together physically, it affects them on a more spiritual level, in a sense;
  • Pain dealt to one is felt by the other. It acts more as a phantom pain - physical wounds are not shared, for instance - though the effect it has is based purely on the person's own strength. If one of the pair were to die, however, the other would suffer major pain and could potentially go into shock if they can not handle it.
  • As said, the Bond does not force each member together. Instead, both parties experience a pull towards each other. This pull happens as the pair moves away from each other, increasing in strength the farther apart they aren't. It isn't an actual pull, of course, and is more like a feeling inside of themselves; a "gut" feeling if you will. The feeling persists until the pair are united again, but there are no long-term consequences, except for a possible nauseous feeling if they are very far away . This has the added bonus of acting like an internal compass centered on one person.
  • Another condition of a Bond is that the pair are not able to harm one another. Whether an attack is shrugged off completely, misses against all odds, is pulled at the last moment, etc., there's simply no way for one person to harm their Bond-mate. This is only applied to conscious attacks; if Persona A were to drop a car off a building, for instance, it would still fall onto Person B all the same.
  • Due to the nature of a Bond, anything that affects the body or mind - dismemberment, poisoning, sedation, unconsciousness, and the like - would not translate to the other and the effects would only appear on the one.
    Misc. Info
For anything that's handy to know but doesn't fit in a broader theme.
  • Dying: If somebody dies - let's face it, somebody will - they will behave like any other corpse; they'll flop, fall, and whatever else a dead body would do. They'll stay dead for a few minutes, and then miraculously come back to life on the spot. The body can be moved, either willing or not, and the person will revive wherever their body is by the time it happens. No magically popping right back to where you died, folks. Better hope nobody tosses you in a pit if you die or something to that effect.

second post, let's go

so if say, someone got their arm cut off, would the character they're bonded with lose control of that arm?

(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?

No, anything that affects the body wouldn't translate over. Just the feeling of it. For that reason, any kind of poison, sedative, or etc would only work on the one it's being used on, not the other person.

...I should probably add that in.

Fourth post.

I’m pretty excited to see what sort of challenges are ahead for the bonded characters. What can we expect?

That is a very good question.

I'm not fully sure what the characters will be going through outside the general conflict. I do have a few ideas, but nothing concrete. Expect a variety, though, since I don't plan on stuffing the roleplay with too much of one thing (like combat).

Also whatever shenanigans your characters do on their own.

Yay shenanigans! I was hoping for some capering.

To make it official, the roleplay starts tomorrow. No specific time, but it will definitely be on the 3rd. Prepare your fingers, since you'll be writing, a lot.

Hopefully. I'm not your boss or anything.

Well the thread is a go!

Some pointers to start:

  • Your characters will start connected in some fashion, such as handcuffs, ankle bracelets, good ol' rope, whatever you think would be fitting. Whatever it is, it will be incredibly fragile, and is more symbolic than literal.
  • The room everyone is in, as said in the post, contains all sorts of surfaces to sit/use. If you want someone sit on a beanbag chair, for instance, you can go ahead and do that. Want a Kotatsu? Have it happen.

Alriiiight, so I might've let this slip away from me for a bit too long. That's my bad there.

So, let me offer everyone here with a choice on how to move forward:

A) If you all aren't sure how to proceed, for whatever reason, I can make a big post where the Host (which it'll be called henceforth unless a better name is decided on) basically writes the trial off as 'inconclusive' and moves on to the next, actual, meatier one.

B) Everyone simply hasn't posted in a while for other, individual reasons, and you're all fine with moving the scene along by yourselves without too much input from me.

I'm fine with either you choose, I just figured it's been long enough and I should be doing something about this (though I have been busy with my own things, which is part of the reason why I've been silent about the roleplay lately).

Pardon me for saying, but I was under the impression that everyone was waiting for a confirmation of what Tali finds from investigating the button.

With that in mind, I suppose I’ll vote A, if there’s not much else to know about it.

Yeah, Komachi asked if they wanted to dismantle the button, and I figured the characters would wait for Tali's analysis of the button to come back before deciding.

Now it's been revealed OOC what Tali's results are so, uh, I dunno? I could probably get a post out later tonight, when I'm on my comp.
