"That's true, I suppose," Velos responded. "Still doesn't mean I shouldn't be careful in terms of Aura usage, though. I can't expect to get lucky like that again."
Especially considering how dependent I am on my semblance in a fight...
Bianca's smile didn't fade. She almost reminded her of Pius and his antisocialness. Bianca giggled, oh well, she already made friends with one grump!
She approached Sumi and patted her on the head without hesitation.
"Umu! That's not a problem with me! I like living adventurously! Besides, bad luck is like, totally worth it if you gain a new friend!"
Nothing is what it seems. Master of Shipping and Sadism.Scarlett's Bad Day and Moving into Dorms
After biting off more than she could chew with the Crocodrilian and coming in last in her own wager, Scarlett spent the time after initiation uncharacteristically quiet. While she still projected the same aura of confidence, she barely spoke a word to anyone from the moment she staggered back to Beacon, drenched from head to toe in viscous, foul-smelling Grimm stomach acid. In hindsight, leaping into the Grimm's open mouth probably wasn't the best idea.
To make matters worse, in between needing to shower and change and the naming ceremony, Scarlett still hadn't had a chance to eat something after she skipped breakfast. After unpacking her meager luggage of one backpack with the bare essentials of what she'd need at Beacon, Scarlett dropped into bed, acknowledging (but only barely) Jayce's nod and her team's leader's speech. Scarlett had other things on her mind, like how she had to now treat the other teams to lunch with all the money she didn't have.
Crap. I'm gonna have borrow cash from someone.
A thunderous sound from the tattooed girl's stomach reminded Scarlett that tomorrow's problems could wait. Getting food took priority.
"Hey, uh, boss? I'm gonna go ahead and get something to eat from the kitchen before I keel over." Scarlett turns to the rest of her team. "Anyone else want anything?

"You're not very good at taking compliments, are you?"
Dorms
Sumi didn't say anything. The was no way to argue, Bianca would just have to experience it herself. Sumi could never understand these sociable types.
Sumi quietly reacted involuntarily to Bianca's hand, blushing and squirming and after a few seconds making a sound almost like purring. She caught herself quickly, throwing her hands up in the air and moving her head away.
"Noooooo petting!" she said, forming a cross with her arms. "I am not a house cat!"
In the absence of a hand on her head, Sumi felt something missing. She paused, looking at Bianca for a short moment, then down at her fidgeting hands.
"Maybe a little petting."
Dorms.
Jayce didn't phazed or irritated by the leader's confession given his stoic expression, although that didn't last long before he spoke his mind.
"You'll have plenty of time to learn. And I'm sure having experience in actually leading a team is something not many of us can claim to have." He calmly replied, giving a slight smile. "I'll be content if you keep us all alive. And with that mentality, well, if we can at least cooperate, it'll make things easier for both you and us. Just one step at a time."
Taking a moment to glance over at Scarlett's offer, Jayce nodded. "If they've got coffee, just a mug will do. But without the cream, milk and sugar. Otherwise, I believe I'll be fine. Cheer- Ahem, I mean, thanks."
Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.Dorms
Bianca's grin had been growing steadily (and that was really saying something!) as she was petting Sumi, because her new friend was just so cute!
But then, she protested and Bianca backed off with a small "Umu?"
Well, dang, looks like she offended someone again. That was stupid of her, as usual. She was about to apologize, when Sumi then asked for...more petting?
Bianca blinked. "Er, I'm confused? Is petting okay or not, umu? I mean, I don't want to offend you or anything, but you looked like you were enjoying it?"
She hesitantly extended her hand again, reafy to pet if Sumi wanted her to.
Nothing is what it seems. Master of Shipping and Sadism.Blaze with Team
"Think nothing of it. If all goes well, we'll be classmates, roommates and team partners for the next four years." Blaze smiled at Ieria. "And I like to think I can be very sweet when need to." He chuckled, leaning down slightly to grace the top of her hand with a kiss.
"Most of our trade is trial-and-error. There's usually more than one way to beat a Grimm." He commented idly afterwards.
grahDorms
Ieria let out a small sound at the kiss. "Now, now, Sugah. Ah'm gonna need you to cool it down a bit there. No need to be so forward." She replied.
She would have reached for one of her freeze charges but unfortunately her free hand was full so the snake girl simply opted to take half a step back so she could break contact if she felt the need to.
-dramatic music ensues-"Not when I make such a rookie mistake during a life or death situation," he answered, trying to keep irritability from seeping through his tone. "It's akin to you missing a bunch of easy shots and someone telling you that you did well anyways"
Not to mention that I still don't understand what I did to deserve the leader position. Only an absolute novice would run out so quickly, so why did he think I'd be competent enough to pass, never mind to lead?
Forward Sugah
"Ah, apologies." Blaze offered her a smirk, but respected her wishes and stepped back. "I didn't mean to cause you discomfort."
"I like to think that all I do is done in good faith. Apologies if you think otherwise." He didn't seem too bummed by her reaction - perhaps he did come onto her a bit strongly.
grahDorms
Ieria held up her hand in a placating motion. "It's fine, Ah' just....wasn't prepared is all, not much of a people person, ya see." She explained. "Always been a bit more in tune with nature than other people. Besides, Ah've talked to worse people, sugah."
-dramatic music ensues-Cinnabar shrugs, "well, way I see it you did well, so I complemented you on it. Not much more to say than that."
Dorm rooms: Nice job, boss.
...He can't possibly be serious, can he?
He still couldn't wrap his head around it. If this had been a solo fight, Velos was sure he'd be six feet underground already. The use of aura, while certainly important to any competent Huntsman or Huntress, was absolutely vital to his fighting abilities, and he managed to turn himself into a sitting duck because he didn't dodge those attacks several times. He half-expected Cinnabar to be doing those well-intentioned (but somehow always infuriating to him) "You did well, considering your disability" things, but no, there didn't seem to be any of those sorts of those conditions here. He legitimately thought Velos did well.
Seriously, he seems to be more well-fitted for a leadership than I am, he thought to himself somewhat bitterly. Ozpin must have made a mistake. There's no other reason.
"...If we're done here, I wish to check up on my sister," he said, turning away and heading out to the hall.
Dorm Rooms
Suzu was in her room relaxing after the day, which for her consisted of playing videogames on her scroll, the fox twisted and swayed tilting in the directions that she would turn the device as she played what sounded to be some kind of racing thing, compleatly oblivious to the world around her.
With Team
"Well, I'm glad I'm not one of the worse people then." Blaze chuckled at Ieria's explanation. "If nothing else, it's an opportunity for all of us to get better at interacting with other people."
grahDorm Room
Well, it looks like Suzu's not stressing out about everything, Velos thought to himself, a grin somewhat forming on his face as he heard the noises of the game. Or, at least, she's not too stressed out to play.
"Hey sis," he said, somewhat softly.
Sorry for the short post, Immy.
Dorms
Ieria waved in a relaxed manner. "Ah...Nah. I'm just not much of a people person. I know my family has a rep but Ah've been away from home on some trips for a while. Been getting very in tune with nature. You know, tracking critters learning different kinds of herbs and whatnot." She explained, reaching up and nervously playing with a lock of hair.
-dramatic music ensues-Dorm Room
Suzu perked her ears right up when her brother spoke up, and she quickly put the game down. "Hey, ummmm is something on your mind?" she queried back, wondering why he had come to visit, and as well if this could get hm in trouble for being in the wrong dorms.
Dorms
"...I just wanted to make sure you were doing well," Velos said, somewhat sheepishly. Technically it was true, as he figured checking up on her would be a better thing to do right now than sitting in his room questioning whatever reasoning there was behind Ozpin's decisions.
Dorms
Axel's ears immediately perked up upon Ieria mentioning her family's 'rep'.
Pulling a completely new notepad and pen from another pocket in his jacket, Axel, putting on his best 'good cop' voice, asked as politely as possible "Is there any chance you could share what this 'rep' your family has is? I honestly cannot say I know much about them."

Dorms
Cinnabar looked around the empty dorm room, sighing and laying down on his bed. It had been a long day, and the fighting had taken more out of him than he'd like to admit. Finally letting his exhaustion overtake him, he very quickly fell into a light sleep, not even bothering to properly get ready for bed.

Dorms
Ieria cocked her head to one side. "Well....why not ask him?" She pointed with her thumb to Blaze. "I mean, he was using the stance and everything...." She looked over at Blaze. "Right? That was the stance I saw?"
-dramatic music ensues-Dorms
"I fine, just kind of relaxing after the day.... Why wouldn't I be?" Suzu replied and queried, before giving a bit of a pause then continuing "Is it perhaps you who have something on your mind?"
Dorms
Ieria reached out and shook Blaze's hand as well. She could feel the heat rising in her cheeks although the shadows of her cloak combined with her scale coloration were doing a fair job of hiding that. "Well, Ah' didn't expect so many well wishes right after all that." She said, looking off to the side.
"You two certainly are sweet though. But I do have to give you both credit, the damn thing hardly noticed I was there until it had an arrow sticking out of it. Hunted some biggins' in my time but that was a new one for me. Wasn't exactly sure I had hit the right spot at first."
