Because of the shared universe, I think it might be cool if the members of Shadowpact were left ambiguous because I could see a few Marvel heroes who that team would appeal to (Doctor Druid?). Other than that, he's pretty much the same Detective Chimp.

  • Identity: Detective Chimp. Some people call him Bobo but he's been shying away from that name. He doesn't really keep his identity a secret but not many people outside of the supernatural crime buster community really know that he exists.
  • Powers, Skills and Equipment
    • Chimpanzee Physiology - Because of his particular genus and species, he is about four times stronger than the average human and could outrun the world's best sprinter, while on four legs.
    • Intelligence and Investigative Skills- As a member of Mensa, he has a higher IQ than 98 percent of the world. He is also one of the world's greatest detectives and is very well-read and classically educated.
    • Immortality: Having dipped in the fountain of youth, Bobo cannot age.
  • Appearance: Here.
  • Personality: An alcoholic, chain-smoking, banana-munching monkey with a slight superiority complex and a slightly heroic streak, Detective Chimp finds himself unable to connect with most people but deals with it through sarcasm, substances, and solving mysteries.
  • Origin: A trained circus chimp that was part of an act where he dressed up as Sherlock Holmes, Bobo found himself dipped into the Fountain of Youth in a bizarre adventure with Lockjaw of the Inhumans and Rex the Wonder Dog. The dip in the pool gave him immortality but also enabled him to speak to humans and think intelligently. He helped solve the mystery of his circus trainer's murder, became a small-time, local hero but eventually struck off his own, bored by rural mysteries. He started a private eye business and has had a few supernatural adventures as a member of the Shadowpact. Is currently trying to meet new heroes to help network.
  • Other: Speaks with a high-pitched Bostonian accent and carries a six shot revolver.

Made a couple of minor edits after re reading the Rebirth Holiday Special that featured Bono. Gave him a Boston accent instead of an English one and gave him a revolver. Hope that's alright

I'm considering joining up, although I notice that the skew is heavily towards Marvel. In that I only saw two DC characters. So right now, I'm considering between Apollo, Triumph, or Icon.

I can't help the player's choices, but I will try to make mine more balanced. And it would be great to see you join us Shark!

Identity:' Apollo (Real name: Andrew Pulaski)

Age: 25

Powers, Skills, and Equipment:

  • Solar Absorption: All of Apollo's powers are derived from his cells' ability to absorb vast quantities of solar energy. He can supercharge his powers by flying directly into the sun and, as the energy he absorbs is a form of radiation, he can absorb other forms of radiation as well (though he hasn't figured this out yet. He's not one of those flying bricks lucky enough to also have a genius-level intellect.)

    • Superhuman strength, speed, and durability: When fully charged, Apollo has incredible strength and is nearly indestructible. He can run and fly fast enough to circle the planet in sixty seconds flat.

    • Energy manipulation: Apollo can fire beams of energy drawing from his solar energy reserves from his eyes, hands, and mouth. He can also fire an omnidirectional burst of incredible power, however doing so can drain his energy and can leave him dazed for up to a minute.

    • Heightened Senses and Immunity: Apollo's senses of hearing, sight, and smell are much greater than a regular human's and he is resistant to nearly all diseases and toxins.

Weaknesses: Apollo's powers are based on solar energy absorption. While he can store incredible amounts of solar energy, his powers also burn through that power quickly. Without direct access or even ambient access to solar energy (such as moonlight or solar lamps), his powers will diminish until he reaches the limitations within 24 hours. Once exposed to direct sunlight again, he will begin to regain his powers, starting with flight, in roughly five minutes and achieve full power in 2 hours.

  • Apollo is also not terribly clever and can be outsmarted in battle, especially when his quick temper is used against him.

Appearance: The Golden One

Personality: Andrew is normally a warm, sunny, easy-going person. He's openly homosexual, a partygoer, and likes working with people. He likes to paint, meditate, and enjoys classical musicians like Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby. However, he also has a quick temper and is also hunting down the answers to try and find out what gave him his incredible abilities.

Origin: Andrew Pulaski isn't entirely sure who he is. He just woke up one day in sunny California in a pair of khaki board shorts and a floral shirt with a strange costume in a bag. He doesn't even know if Andrew Pulaski is his real name, it's just the name on the ID inside the wallet that he found in the back pocket of his shorts. Almost immediately, however, he became aware of his powers. Specifically, as he had no money, the fact that he could subsist purely on sunlight. He can sometimes recall brief snatches of a life beforehand. He remembers that he had parents, a home, birthday cakes. Boyfriends. But nothing that anchors him solidly down to a past, only the idea that something has been taken from him.

  • As Andrew discovered and developed his powers, he decided that he should do something with this strange costume that he found with his only set of clothes and started helping people with him. Originally, he didn't have a name, saying that he was just "a friend" or "a good samaritan" (people started calling him 'Samaritan' though that thankfully didn't stick). However, after about a week of traveling the United States, he was struck by inspiration and officially declared himself "Apollo" after another daring rescue. He's determined to do three things: Find out who he was, how he became what he is, and to be Earth's greatest hero.

Hey, if you are still recruiting, I wouldn't mind playing. Since everything seems skewed towards Marvel, I have a choice of DC characters that I wouldn't mind playing. I am not sure which one I should take up though.

1. While Superman isn't too high on my list of favorite DC characters, I wouldn't mind taking a crack at him... and as such I list him as my first choice. I have a few interesting ideas for Superman, mainly dealing with how effective his powers are based on how much sunlight he has stored in his cells... and how the more effort he puts into using his powers, the faster he burns through his energy reserve. (for example, the faster he flies or runs, the more solar energy is consumed). This could serve as a way to limit him in a reasonable fashion while also explaining the differences in power levels between different continuities. The more energy he has stored in his cells, the more powerful he becomes, but it takes a while to build up that much energy reserve... unless he does a sun dip. I could probably throw in some emotional challenges as well. I am however, reluctant to take up Superman, as we already have a character currently in play with sun-based powers... otherwise I would've have already posted a write up.

2. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is one of my favorite DC characters, and would be my second choice as a character to play as. His powers are fairly simple to understand and the lore is awesome. I am familiar with the Green Lantern: The Animated Series (2011) adaptation of the character, so I would likely take inspiration from that series.

3. The Flash is another one of my favorite DC characters, and would be my third choice. I could do either an adaptation of Barry Allen (The Flash 2014) or Wally West (Justice League Unlimited).

Peace out scrubs.

The game is only skewed one way or the other by the preferences of the current players. And remember, they can switch characters later.

I have no problems with any of your choices, just remember you must stick to the basics of the character (so for example, no Electric Superman- I mean that was a fun gimmick, but it's *not* what he's supposed to be about.)

  • identity: Black Alice/ Lori Zechlin
  • Powers, Skills and Equipment

    • I read there is no power limit on this game, that’s perfect because she would be too powerful otherwise. But I want to modify her powers a little so she suits the game as I know she could be a broken character.

    • In the comics she can steal magic of any magical being. But I want to change it to “copy” the powers instead if and only if the victim is a player. Say instead of stealing the magic of the Wonder Woman player she would just have identical powers.

    • She can steal ( or copy of it is a player) the magic powers of regardless of distance or how powerful the enemy is including their special magical items. Her clothing transforms in a mix between her goth style and her targets style.

    • She can sense and feel magic. Think of sensing the force like in Star Wars.

  • Weaknesses

    • ‘’’Time limit’’’: There is a time limit as a weakness. Any power she copies or steals will eventually return to their rightful owner.

    • But I rather not have it GM mandated. I would like to control her time limit in game instead and hand wave the discrepancies as “Her time limit varies depending on her level of control.” Though, nothing longer than hours in game and could be as short as 5 minutes or even less.”

  • No cosmic magic beings. She has stolen the powers of people like the specter, but I am guessing that’s too much, right? What about asking for GM permission before stealing magic from the big boys?” Won’t steal the magic of say the Visanthi or any overkill magic being.

  • No expertise included. Won’t nessesarily know how to use those powers she steals or copies.

  • ‘’’Appearance’’’: in all her goth glory
  • Personality: Aggressive, prone to anger, and impulsive. Barely a hero and closer to the “lethal protector” she is classic teenage rebel, a goth and a bad mouthed girl. Not very friendly, but very vulnerable and very nice once you get to know her.

  • Origin: Lori Zechlin is your average rebellious teenager. Her mother is dead, and her father is an alcoholic abusive man that bullies her. Her goth style is the way she copes with her troubled life.

  • Basically she is a nobody. But a nobody that hates bullies like her father. Which is her main motivator for fighting super villains.

  • Not even she knows why she can steal magic. People like Reed Richards or Dr fate can’t detect anything special about her.

  • By accident she got involved in an adventure with detective chimp in which she discovered her powers and she befriended the monkey detective who saved her life (if FL approves if not Ignore this part).

  • A mindless one was about to kill her as just colateral damage, but she managed to summon the power of Wonder girl to save herself at the last moment.

  • She is currently self taught. And discovering her powers.

There is no need to change Alice's limits- in the comics her stealing abilities were random, otherwise she would have used Dr. Fate's or Spectre's powers all the time. Besides, I'm not allowing The Spectre to be the "Wrath of God" here, so while powerful he's not truly cosmic. Similarly most Cosmic Beings will indeed be beyond Alice's ability to drain.

Posting my sign up for consideration, in case the game gets more players.

  • Name :Supergirl
  • Real Name: Kara Zor-El/Kara Kent
  • Gender: Female
  • Age :Teenager "
  • Appearance: As Supergirl Civilian
  • Alignment : Good
  • Personality: Kara is a decent person if a bit immature and impulsive. She wants to do good and save other people. She struggles to become as good as her cousin Superman, yet find her own place in a foreign new world. However, her greatest advantage from Superman is that she is less of an ideal to aspire like he is and more of a woman that aspires to be that ideal of hope. She has interest besides being a superhero, and she is a typical teenager.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Heat vision: Her eyes create heat beams that can melt steel.
  • X-ray Vision: She can see through any solid object, except lead.
  • Super breath/freeze breath: She is able to push objects with a wind coming from her lungs or even freeze objects, with a lot of effort.
  • Super hearing: She can hear conversations from very far, and some frequencies too low for normal humans-
  • Super speed: Not as fast as the flash, nor as precise. But she can move fast enough to dodge a bullet at least and seem like a blur or the naked eye.
  • Superhuman durability: She is not invincible. And in fact,t she is a bit weaker than her cousin because her body hasn’t absorbed as much solar radiation. Altough her skin is bulletproof, explosive things like rocket launchers, bombs and high levels of electricuty would harm her.
  • Superhuman strength : Also not as strong as superman, as her body is still absorbing solar energy. She is not silver ages of strenght. Not by far. But she could lift a 6 Wheeler truck more less as her upper limit.
  • Flight: The ability to defy gravity and move through the air.
  • Weaknesses:
    • Magic: It affects her like anybody else
    • Kryptonite in all it's forms. Green weaknes her, removes her powers and would eventually kill her. Blue renders her powerless.
    • Red sun radiation: It renders her normal

  • Backstory.

Zor-el, Supergirl's father, didn’t believe the warnings of Jor-el about krypton’s incoming doom or the so-called prophecy of rao that also called the end of Krypton. However, as the scientist, he was, even he couldn’t ignore the sight of the Heral of Galactus passing on a galaxy nearby from his telescopes. Would Galactus consume Krypton? He wouldn’t risk his only daughter to find out.

Kara Zor-El was a little girl and a babysitter for baby Kal-el. She was taken to Earth via experimental Zeta beam technology. However, due to the fact, Zor-El rushed the process, they all ended up in the North Pole. Allura in ze and Zor-el didn’t survive the trip, but Kara did freeze in a Kryptonian crystal that saved her life. Her time being frozen explains why she is still a teenager, despite being born before Kal-El“

Young Kara was found by explorer Dr. Virgil Swann. She was amnesic because Zor-El had suppressed her memories and her powers with a blue kryptonite bracelet in an effort for her to live on earth as a normal human.

Nevertheless, her powers did manifest, and she ended up joining the X-men for a while, going under the moniker of “Ultra-girl” for a while. During this period she believed herself to be a mutant and as such suffered from the usual hate and prejudice of being one.

One day, Jean Grey of the X-men, helped her unlock her memories on the city of Argo on Krypton. This prompted her to start her career as Supergirl. In honor of her more popular cousin, she has yet to meet.

Blue Kryptonite is only supposed to affected Bizarros. But that's a minimal detail; everything else is OK. So approved! :)
