Found this book on Kindle a while back. Basically, imagine your standard story about a retired rock band: They're old, being replaced by the flashier younger generation, they've all moved on except for one guy who just knows that he's finally got the gig that will bring the band back together, the start of a tour that will win them back all the fame and glory they thought lost.

Except it's a band of mercenaries, and they made their name by killing monsters.

The book is told from the perspective of Clay Cooper as he and his friend Gabe work to reunite their band in order to save Gabe's daughter from a horde of monsters. It's also filled with references to rock tropes, from the subtle to the obvious. Since I'm not really into rock history, I'm sure I missed a lot.

We have a page.

Just reading this at the moment - absolutely amazing. Great writing and humour, but with some great sentimental and poignant moments.

There's a sequel due this year - "Bloody Rose".

I'm about two thirds of the way through and I'm really liking it so far. If anyone's interested, someone made a Spotify playlist of classic rock songs for the book.
