you overestimate just how much of a role that played into it. No one cares about this crap beyond some people on the net. Blade didn't need any prior connections with other characters to sell. I don't think it'll be too difficult to make a thief and a mercenary who hunts war criminals successful.
people were saying the same thing about Fox before Deadpool. Marvel's rep wasn't exactly strong after Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk either. If two bad movies was enough to destroy a studio I wonder how any movie studio has survived

Okay, I highly doubt Marvel's rep was in any way that badly damaged after The Incredible Hulk or Iron Man 2. Seems anecdotal at best. Second off, Sony has been in a huge rut lately that has not been kind to them. Not just superhero movies, a good deal of their movies in general have been criticized to hell and back and they've been in a fairly big slump. Now, I do have a bit of faith in a Black Cat and Silver Sable film but only if Sony manages to not screw it up.

Because Blade was not connected to Marvel so much. Felicia and Silver's characters mainly involve their interactions with Peter.
doesnt matter to the audience. They've had stories that didn't involve Peter. For the purposes of this movie, their characters can revolve around something else.

“Superhero movies have now transcended [the point] where they’re no longer superhero movies per se; they are essentially genre movies,” said Columbia Pictures' president Sanford Panitch, who is overseeing the film. “It’s not so much that characters have a cape and fly. In Silver & Black, these two women are modern and cool. … They may wear costumes, but [they’re] very real and very grounded.”
No release date for Silver & Black has been given.

Badly damaged is an exaggeration, both were just considered underwhelming when compared to the first Iron Man and they didn't have a hit that really resonated with the public in a big way until Avengers.
I'm skeptical of the Scorpion rumor, unless the same actor plays him I guess.
