That's what I'm talking about. You can see a very clear difference from the way Dunny fights (skilled human) and the way Geralt fights (freaking machine). It of course fits in perfectly with the lore, I'm just wondering how they actually managed that effect on screen.
The animated movie will focus on Vesemir before he trained Geralt[1]

Coming from a pure games player, is that in the books or is this new canon being created by the show runners?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Have they cast Vesemir yet? I know Mark Hamill expressed interest and it’s not like Hamill isn’t considered one of the best voice actors of his generation.
It’s an ideal transition is all I’m saying.
No casting yet, keeping my fingers crossed for Hamil.
Depending on which part of Vesemir's life it's about, could be original content.
The show is an adaptation of the books.

Interesting, another original character, unless they're just naming her "Violet" to keep her identity a surprise.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Wait, what do you mean by "another" original character?
Dara in Season 1 is an OC. Probably added to give Ciri someone to bounce exposition off of and keep her more dynamic, as she didn't have nearly as much to do as the other cast members.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Ah, I see.
2 new witchers have been cast[1]
Lambert!!! He's one of my favorite characters from TW3. That's awesome. So we'll get to see Ciri training at Kaer Morhen, exactly as I hoped.
I heard Netflix is rushing production for Season 2 so it can be ready by the end of the year. That worries me, because I want the visual effects work to be just as good as, if not better than, in Season 1. If they throw all the money at it, maybe that'll be enough.
Also, the first two episodes will wrap up Season 1. That's good, as long as they don't forget to have a main arc for the next season.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm more looking forward to Coën. He was Ciri's Big Brother Mentor, the one she liked the most.
It was a downright blasphemy that they cut him out of the flashbacks in TW 3 entirely.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. It didn't only look like testicles, but cheap testicles.
That is a horrifying comparison.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."What is the price range of testicles anyway? All I got was the ones they give you for free.

Which makes sense. It was meant to be boiled leather cheap armor in the first place. As Nilguard takes over Cintra's resources and has more to play with, their armor will get better.
They're no longer throwing farmboys at the wall and seeing who survives.
I find that an acceptable explanation even if the armor looks like ass. It looks cheap because it's supposed to be cheap so that Nilfgaard can equip a massive army fast.
I mean the war we are seeing now is not even the real deal. In the books, it was more or less a side-note.
The Second Nilfgaardian Invasion, the one where they waged an actual war of extermination against the entire North, is yet to come.

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianYeah, the first war ended at the Second Battle of Sodden Hill. We've had the first one as the Season 1 finale. Season 2 might end with Second. I'd love for Brenna to be the finale, be a battle scene on par with something like The Long Night or Battle of the Bastards.
Umm... no. The Battle of Sodden Hill we see is the Second Battle of Sodden Hill, which marks the end of the First War. The novels don't dive into the first battle, and the only things known about it is that it happens sometime after the sacking of Cintra, and the North got trounced in that one.
EDIT: Ah, misread your post. I thought you were calling the finale of Season 1 the First Battle of Sodden Hill, and that we'd get the second in Season 2. My mistake.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I did say that though. I'm thinking that was First Sodden because it's the first time Nilfgaard has gotten that far, there were 14 mages that died there (I think), and the North lost.
Then again the actual battle may be in the first two episodes of Season 2 from what I've read that they're going to wrap up the plotlines for season 1 in those first episodes.

The Blaviken scene, at least, was shot in full-speed, as Cavill breaks down in this video from yesterday. It's amazing how they managed to make the swordplay so weighty and realistic despite using half-length cutoff sword.
