We can't lose Suika the scientist. That's like one of the best parts of the series.

Yeah, Suika's seven years is one of my favourite moments in the series, and is something that shouldn't be cut or rushed in any way, shape or form.

If need be, they can always follow AoT example, and do a Final Season part 1 and a Final Season part 2 tongue.

[up] I doubt they'd stoop that low- Oh wait, but this season was done in split cours...

I would’ve assumed one cour for Corn City, one cour for South America, and one final cour for everything else.

Are three cour seasons a thing?

Technically Attack on Titan's final season was split into three parts, I think?

I don't think "everything else" is long enough for a full cour, unless they include 4-D Science. Which would be awesome, but I don't expect it.

Then again, the way 4-D Science is shaping out, Happy Ending Override might be in effect.

I do wonder if they'll do a "special" episode to bridge the seasons, like they did with the Ryusui episode. But there's not quite anything that serves as well. Unless they wanted to do the casino night as a special, [lol]

I'm hoping the next season involves a lot of Adaptation Expansion. Primarily because the last few episodes had some really good anime only scenes (like the fireworks and the flasback with Senku and Byakuya), but also because everything after the time skip / Suika scientist sequence feels a bit too compressed.

The final chapter of 4-D Science is out.

Holy shit, that is NOT where I expected it to go. Whyman wasn't trying to do some devious world-conquering tactic. It was just trying to spur science forward, in the most "logical" way... emotionally manipulative. Which, to be fair, Senku and Gen do all the time, just not on such a mass scale. The founder's grave was a REAL grave all along!? Damn, that's crazy to think about. Makes all those scenes around it even more tear-jerking now.

But.... No conclusive conclusion for Senku and Kohaku. But considering this ends with them uncovering Byakuya's burial site, but not actually awakening him or even us fully seeing him, I choose to believe that that look Senku and Kohaku shared in the previous chapter WAS the conclusion.

I think it’s fine to leave us hanging on whether the petrified Byakuya was even there. But yeah I’m pleasantly surprised by the twists in the story.

And 4-D science ends.

When the main series ended I didn't really like the time machine thing because I felt it was a bit too out there for Dr. Stone, even with the petribeams and Why-Man and everything.

I liked what they did here with here though. It was nice to see them explore it as a new stage science and engineering and I thought it was cool how they used other sci-fi concepts as parts of the roadmap (AI, space elevators, and moonbases, oh my). And for once we got something Senku and co. couldn't just build on their own in the span of a few chapters.

But mostly I just liked seeing the main cast again, and it was good to see some character development from the Why-Man. I think Senku's talk about how humans are nothing but a bunch of electrical impulses so of course Why-Man has emotions, might be the most positive spin on that idea I have ever read.

And still no resolution to Senku/Kohaku. They really were just trolling the shippers with the "who will Senku get with?" stuff earlier. lol.

Never thought we would get a clear answer on Senku-Kohaku. It’s all about the science for that guy, hahaha.

You could create a new scientific theory on whether anything would happen with Senku and Kohaku.[lol]

I definitely prefer this turn of events to the obvious twist of the Byakuya from the future being Senkus descendant.

In the end we stuck with the Medusa device being the only full blown sci-fi device beyond our current understanding of science.

That man is all about efficiency.

My head-cannon regarding those two would be that Kohaku already living with him in his house after asking "Hey, I'm moving in, you're fine with that right?" and he just said "sure" and went back to science, occasionally accepting "close moments" with her whenever they sporadically occur with no words needed between them to get the point through.

I was expecting a mini-series called 4-D Science to be four chapters, especially given the chapter names.

That might be an issue with the paywall. I assume they want the miniseries to be freely accessible and Viz paywalls all but the three most recent chapters on their site.

also, y'know more cultural reasons
