Bumping this again. I really do wonder if Boss Remix isn't unnecessarily medium-specific. I also wonder if any examples could overlap with Orchestral Bombing.

I don't think the non-game examples on the page are misplaced.
It's mostly that the trope is just one of those that happen a lot in games, but very rarely elsewhere.

What should non-video game examples of Boss Remix sound like? Does any battle music based on Leitmotifs count? Is the idea basically spurious?
