An eight-stat swing is a pretty big deal, yeah. Incidentally, that's also why Aversa's tome is pretty bonkers.
That said, troll staff easy moding isn't just a Veronica thing. Dazzling Gravity+ or Pain+ with Savage Blow 6 is also completely insane. Hell, even just Dazzling Gravity+ with Savage Blow 3 is good enough that I've got four of them on top of my fully kitted Painscilla. They wreck Arena Assault hard.

Okay, "Heroes with Ward Skills" had me expecting Ward Armor and its ilk. They really needed to word the banner name better, since Sigurd is the only one whose B skill has "Ward" in the name.

It's a mistranslation. In Japanese all three skills use the word 加護 which was translated as "Blessing" for Ike and Lyn but "Ward" for Sigurd. Presumably for space reasons. Both are accurate, more or less, but the problem was just that they've been inconsistent with them.
This was known shortly after they put up the calendar since people checked the Japanese version.

So I apparently still had some luck leftover, as I've just pulled an optimal +Atk -Spd HrÃd.
He hits 60 Atk at Level 40 with his prf and the superboon. Noice.

Even with the max Aether Raids limit, that picture has too many Surtrs.
Surtr's not all that terrible to fight. Armor March actually works against him because it means stuff can bait from outside of Sinmara's range. Axebreaker on a red tome also ruins him unless he's willing to drop his Steady Stance 4 for Distant Counter. Armor slaying weaponry also crushes him. Even my Gwendolyn was taking him down Quick Riposting against WTD with a Slaying Spear+. Now imagine Tobin stabbing him in the face.

Well, Slaying Spear+ Fjorm isn't quite as good as Gwendolyn was, but she's still competent enough to face-tank a Sinmara blow, then wreck Surtr on the counterattacks, so good enough.

It keeps scaling up, too. I'm well beyond the point where it costs more than the daily refresh. They really need to unlock Aether Fountain upgrades already.
I've continued using Surtr in Forging Bonds because he needs more SP and it's kind of funny how badly he trolls the AI. I'm actually legit tempted to pull for more of him to get more merges to have him as a ridiculous mixed wall in one of my Aether Raids offense teams, but I think I'd rather have the Fjorm merges. One thing I definitely am going to throw a ton of orbs at, if necessary, if she returns before and/or during Fjorm's legendary banner, is Loki. Thokk is a great way to screw over enemy ranged cav spam in Aether Raids.
