Why the Chrom have the bow

A lot of alts have oddball weapons. Chrom actually has Archer as a reclass option in Awakening, though it typically doesn't see much use outside of Apotheosis (losing Falchion access in the main campaign is a big deal).

Hmmm, I do want that Chrom alt. I guess I'll have blue as my side pull colour and if Gunnthra's copies show up early, I might have a go at trying to get him. I'm not sure how hard I want to try, though, since I also want to try to get Red Infantry Duel for Morgan if Gunnthra comes home early.

Not to mention that his Daughter is also an archer.

I'm forgoing L!Chrom's banner beyond the free pull in favor of seeing if I can get D!Reindhart and Wolt from the other banner (among others).

I do remember that Chrom has the archer tree.

I wouldn't have a problem with Chrom having a Bow alt for a brave or something, but in my mind the Legendary alts should be the "ideal" forms of the Lords, after they've realised their potential and won the wars in their respective games. I know this isn't 100 percent the case, since Legendary Azura's an original creation, but that's been the general trend iirc. I was weirded out by the Lucina bow alt in the same way.

I'm fine with every other legendary bow alt because they do wield bows in their final classes. Hell, Bow Legendary Leif was probably my favorite so far because it is a cute nod to the Master Knight bow canto strat.

It's good art though and I'm just nitpicking lol.

If they gave every Legendary Hero their normal weapon then 95% of them would be red swords.

I guess we could have gotten lance Chrom, since even sticking to default starting class, Great Lord would let him use lances. That pool's been pretty saturated lately, though, so they may have wanted to avoid that.

Units in general. Tsubasa is a tough act to follow for offensive lances and Brave Lucina compounds that by being an insanely good support lancer. I suppose they could have just gone full power creep mode, like with Duo Alm.

That said, I think the bow gimmick with his Reposition-flavour Future Vision is not to be underestimated. It's going to make for some annoying pains in ARD and Arena (especially in combination with Peony, since Isolation doesn't prevent him from utilizing the All Orders warp).

BTW, Chrom's appearance seems to have been inspired by one of his Cipher artworks (not one-to-one, but you can see the inspiration).

I thought that was obvious? It's kinda why I thought he should be a lance unit.

Not that I'm surprised that a Duo unit power crept someone but who did Alm power crept specifically?

Basically everything. He's got innate Def penetration and an insanely stupid amount of Spd. Like, I routinely run into +10 super whale Duo Alms with 51ish Spd (before buffs!) with DC and Repel/Close Call. The latter with his insane Spd, in tandem with his Atk debuff that's based on enemy Res, actually gives him armour-tier durability without the armour weakness or movement restriction. He's basically a Swiss Army Adamantium Chainsaw.

Don't worry, they'll have to stop Spd creeping eventually (since 99 is the hard cap).

watch as they introduce the stat Speed 2, in which they store excedent speed above 99.

And above that... Soon we shall reach... Ludicrous speed.

Hey finishing up Fiora's forging bonds and I gotta ask how people tell all these Pegasus sister knights apart. The only ones I can remember are Florina on account of her being the first one I ever met and Est because they named an archetype after her.

Hairstyle. Palla has long green hair, Catria has short blue hair and Est has shorter pink hair. Fiora has long cyanish hair and Florina has long lilac hair (the missing sister has short blue hair AFAIK)

I think the Heroes devs have a horrifying Alm/Celica bias. Weren't Legendary Alm and Celica also setters for the new standards of power, since they laugh at your defense stat?

At least I finally got an anima hero. +Spd Duma lol.

As someone who doesn't think SOV is the best thing ever, I think you're really grasping straws there.

They're still quite the power (creep) couple in this game, wouldn't you agree?

Anyway, my quest for Sothis is still a bust, though I did manage to fix my -Atk L!Alm and get fallen Corrin, mostly because of redless circles forcing me to choose colorless.

Also, a 5 red circle with nothing but Morgan. The odds are astronomically low.

Both Legendary Alm and Celica are very power creepy and dangerous, and yes, it's because of the whole defense penetration thing. I'd say the sample size is a little too small to say if there's a bias simply because they also happen to have been released during a time when power creep in general is really ramping up. Larcei and Mareeta are also obscenely broken because of their Close Call/Repel abilities (and Larcei has Dull All built into her weapon).

Turbo pulled before bed last night and it took almost all 650 of my saved orbs, but I just barely +10ed my Gunnthra (the final copy came with 30 orbs left in my stash...). Along the way, I got an off-colour L!Azura (+Spd, so I guess I'm going to merge my existing one into her), Gerik (+Spd as well, so I guess I'm building him) and five Legendary Lyns. I guess I could use them for Spd Tactic fodder, but NY!Eir makes that available. Probably just going to merge her up to +5, since the legendary slot rotation for both AR and Arena makes having prepared, merged legendaries worthwhile. I just wish she didn't have element overlap with Gunnthra.

I still have to get all the orbs from Chrom's LHB and then there's end of month stuff, so I guess I have a somewhat reasonable shot at scoring a Helbindi for Morgan's R Duel. It's probably the best idea in the end, since refraining and adding the 40-50ish orbs to next month's to scrape together maybe 200 orbs for F!Grima is extremely unlikely to get her to +10 (she needs five more copies and it took 650 orbs for Gunnthra's three). Oh, and I got flooded with Reyson copies, so I can finally make my +10 G Duel Arena refresher. Guess he'll fill in during Water until I can get a +10 Earth legendary online.

It’s been a long time since I posted in this thread, and I’ve been on-off playing this game.

I’ve been fairly lucky with intermittent pulls for units in the recent banners. Over these few weeks I’ve managed to pick up Surtr, Lewyn, F!Grima, Christmas Nino, Naga, Brave Alm, SoV!Catria, Legendary Eliwood, Lif, Nils, Edelgard, Ewan, Ishtar and Dimitri.

But then, 100 orbs into this current banner and I’ve got nothing but fodder...sitting at a 10% pity percent...

Question though. With Nils, is Even Pulse Tie worthwhile to keep, or is it better swapped out for something else? It’s one of those skills that I’m looking at and can’t decide on if it’s really good or its activation is too specific for it to be useful.

Depends on how much you do Aether Raids. It's an anti-Infantry Pulse skill and is very strong for that reason alone, but if you don't play the mode much, you're not going to get much value out of having it equipped all the time.

Almost never touch Aether Raids since getting to Tier 15 for that free Brave Ike to merge into mine. Last I checked out of curiosity I decayed to Tier 11, and the rewards are cool and all, but eh, not a fan of the format.

Thanks though, I’ll probably just stick Deluge Dance or Fireflood Dance on him from one of my ten Silvia fodder or a Rinea I grail summon instead.
