Oh wow. I'm excited for this. I enjoyed the real-time gameplay, but I have to admit that the turn-based combat style of Original Sin had appealed to me a little more. I'm looking forward to see how the team balances the game around this.

Woah. I hate R Tw P with a passion, and it's the main reason why my interest in this game never went over "I like it, I guess" even if all the other systems are done really well.

If they implement the turn-based version right, I'll probably buy the DL Cs and give Deadfire another try.

I think the turnbased option is out now?

Turn-based mode is cool, definitely some promise there. Maybe not a reason to play through again if you've done so recently, but definitely changes things up for future playthroughs. My main complaints are that the pathfinding has been a problem, but mostly because of the ability to push allies — which works so well in RT mode — can end up wasting a lot of your limited movement per turn. I feel like there needs to be a confirm and/or undo move button. Not sure how much work that might be to implement, though.

Other than that this opens up a lot of possibilities, and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

You do miss DOS 2's environment effects in any tactical TB game where they're not there, though.

One year later and one last patch.

  • Turn-Based Mode is officially out of beta, with whatever changes that might mean. Improved Ship UI too, apparently to smooth out the rough edges on ship combat.
  • Some new dialogue based around Woedica and Eothas? I'm assuming that mostly affects priests and that one paladin, but maybe there's more? They went in and recorded it. Pretty sweet.
  • Remember The Ultimate from the first game? It's back. Once again it turns on everything... including, this time around, every single god challenge. I preemptively concede.

I'm glad they added some more content on the Woedica/Eothas front, I definitely saw complaints about sparsity there. I guess the game's all ready for its console release, whenever that finally happens.

And, with the final patch in place and my mods updated, I can now delete the game from my computer. It's been a great year.

Yeah, I think it's time to delete it too. I've already played it for hundreds of hours, so I'd say I got my money's worth.

It's almost a shame I'll be waiting a long time for Obsidian's next work since it's going to be Epic Store exclusive for at least a year. And I'm not going to use Epic Store.

Apparently The Ultimate also leads in game over if you use dialog to avoid major boss enemies [lol]

Good thing they eventually added an option to skip the opening sequence with Berath. Starting over was really painful before that.

That's alright, that's the right way to play it. You only played one class in the first game and multiclassing and the reworking of the ability/talent trees makes it a whole different game. I usually start any given RPG over a few times early on. Though I did go back and play by chanter from the first game (a cipher/chanter in this game) eventually.

In Which I play some then start all over again
Okay, to start off with, I made it far enough along in my playthrough to get 13 Berath Blessing points. I was at Neketaka but I had pretty much purposefully avoided going there, just wandering and doing other stuff first. First thing I did was try to sail for Deadlight but Serafan said I needed a Spyglass so I gave up on that. Never did find that Spyglass.... I did Hasongo, recruited some old Xuurip lady, found a cannibal crewmember, and a bunch of little things in Neketaka itself. Oh I found a Woedica temple which was nice for my Woedican PC.

I had just finished stealing the book from the wizard but the rest of the quest was way too high level so I was just gonna explore Neketaka more. Then I found Tekehu. Something about meeting him set me off.... I dunno what it was but I was like "this isn't working" in regards to my character. I started all over again

I'm now a Savage - Corpse Eater Barbarian and Stalker Ranger Hearth Orlan Raider from Deadfire with Bear Companion. M13 C9 D17 P20 I16 R4. I figure Frenzy can make up for the slightly low Might and Constitution. And I chose Corpse Eater because of running into that island with all the kith meat and I loved Sagani having a animal companion last game and I figured it was a good fit with my character here. Ranger appears to be quite good at melee from what I've read. realized after playing with this for a bit that my initial disappointment with Barbarian was misplaced. I remembered Barbarians from the first game being awesome with big roars and power up sequences and stuff and I wanted that. Well, you do get that, just not in the first few fights in the game. If you keep at it, your Barbarian will be laughing and screaming just like I wanted. If they ever make a Pillars 3, bring back Sinister Lady. She rules. But the point is, so far, I am killing things a billion times more easily than I did last time. Frenzy rules and I am also trying out Unarmed. I hear it's buggy compared to an actual Monk's Unarmed but eh, that seems like a thing to worry about much later or maybe only for nerds playing the hardest difficulty. I am content with my Classic difficulty with Level Scaling Up.

Oh yeah and I made Eder a Rogue and Xoti a Priestess this time around. Aloth is still just a Wizard and Serafen is still just a Cipher. But he's fucking gone. I'm in love with Tekehu and Serafen is both the least useful and least interesting companion in my humble opinion. I made Tekehu a Chanter.

So that's where I'm at presently. Now I'm gonna post my thoughts from the aborted run which were first impressions.

No details please but is there anything to do with Iovara in Deadfire? Probably not but I'm just curious. Somebody on Reddit said Iovara is the real hero(ine) of POE 1 and I can really see that.

So I can believe Eder and Sagani would be okay with some assassinations and working for the Doumenels. I cannot believe Eder would allow me to shake down pilgrims and then also murder them all. Maybe the first part but not the second. My ending for him in the first game was the one where he joined the secret Eothasian society. But anyway, I tried all the combinations with this because it's really interesting. I got "Anti Eothasian"?

And...holy shit, the thing I've been talking about wanting since last game is already happening. Characters should get mad at you if you do shit they think of as evil. I can even talk to Eder about it, about how my character has changed on account of the events of POE 1. Good characterization all around.

But of course now I have another Eothasian in my party. A simple, honest Eothaasian with a Southern accent. She and Eder should get along great. I do find Xoti charming though, even if her and my PC's personality couldn't be more different. I try to humor her and her silliness because I respect her faithfulness. Somebody mentioned a "dark route" for her and I'm like how can somebody who likes jokes, honesty and being as silly as possible have a dark route? She'll literally get mad at me if I lie to those Digsite people about why I was there.

In spite of everything, I got on well with the Naga. I like them, their attitude fits my character quite well. I'm glad we came to a peaceful understanding. I also feel a bit more sympathetic to the Huana now. For an intensely religious character like my PC, the group that "respects the gods the most seems like the natural choice.

Speaking of which, the chat with all the gods sure was tpta;;u unexpected. I'm just going about lost and confused and exploring and suddenly BAM. Took the entire game to have a tiny chat with them in POE 1 but this game just started and all of them lined up to talk with me. Well, not so much talk with me. Berath actually gets upset if you interrupt them too much so I just kept picking [Say nothing.] I wish they had acknowledged my choice in the last game but oh well.

This game feels really short. I'm already Level 6 and I just got Exceptional Armor and it just feels like the climax with Eothas is already right around the corner after Hasongo.

Berath really isn't anything at all like I imagined. Gods of Death tend to be in two flavors: evil or "unknowable." Given Berath favors Stoic and Rational, I imagined he was of the latter camp. Death is the ultimate mystery and so of course the god of death is also a mystery. But The Pallid Knight just had me show off for these random goons at the Neketaka docks. I said I was there chasing a giant adra statue because I figured everyone knew about that but claiming to be a herald of Berath and that the statue was Eothas might be going too far. These scrubs don't need to know any special details. Then they started mocking me and I was gonna go all Carrie on them or something but Berath intervenes and commands me to show these losers who I am. There have been a few "hey Berath, wanna help me out here?" dialogue choices and I always ignore them because, as I said, I figured Berath for some aloof, inscrutable god. But my point is, Berath telling me to terrify these people was shocking and interesting and I have to totally re-valuate my opinion of her/them/it.

Also all the gods are really kinda fucked up in appearance. Skaen is the most obvious bot none of them are particularly pleasant to look at. I like all the eyeless Wael's.

Also I failed to mention that one reason Thaos was so easy is because he can be Dominated. I was fretting over having to fight three enemies than Grieving Moter just Dominated the frickin' final boss and that made things simpler. I wonder if that can be so broken in this game. I'll keep it in mind for a few hundred hours from now.

What is this "Blessing" option I keep getting that I never meet the requirement for? I've see nit twice now and I think it has something to do with Berath but no idea. I could use it during the duel thing in Queen's Berth and also at some other point I forget.

There's a certain video game I don't wanna spoil for anyone but the big twist is that the god everyone worships is actually a space weapon. A long time ago I was musing over "what does it mean to be a god, really? Sure this god was something man-made but does that make him less of a god?" You can really ask the same questions about the gods here, can't you? When you talk to Eothas at Hasongo you can mention how the gods have thousands of years of wisdom and control the souls of the world. Woedica threatens to drop a moon on the planet. At what point does a creature "become" a "real" god? Everyone thinks you're a god, you have the power of a god, you have the dominion of a god (ie. control certain vital parts of existence, like reincarnation() - doesn't all of this trump the unconventional natuer of their creation? Of course, this is a matter of abstract speculation. For somebody who lived in Eora, I think it would matter a lot to them that their deities were created through mass the extinction of a race of people.

Is this what Eder wants to tell Xoti? He wants to reveal to her what we learned at Sun in Shadow? I told him to avoid her and not tell her. That secret stays with us. My PC is adamant about this.

And I just got Tekehu again. I headed straight for Neketaka and the Watershaper place after leaving Maje so I'm gonna have Tekehu along for all the adventures he missed last time and then some. My PC is not a friendly sort - I find Eder and Xoti's silliness irritating and I generally just brush them off in a not too mean way. (I did like Xoti at first but her "folksy charm" wore off a long time ago.She ain't no Cidney) But Tekehu....that flamboyant fishman stirs something in my cold, dead heart. There's usually one of them. Whenever I try to play a harsh, angry character there's always one companion who I just can't help but love and who I inevitably end up responding to differently than how I respond to every other character. Tekehu makes me want to be silly and flirty back and not just snarl or be stoic.

In gameplay news though, I should put him in Heavy Armor, right?

But yeah, I'm really feeling this new character and Tekehu is the first companion who has really got me invested in them. Aloth is more interesting this time around, I suppose. But I fear Eder and Xoti are not going to be my friends forever. Dunno how or when it'll happen but I don't see me ending this game with them. We're too different and I won't compromise and stop trying to destroy Eothas and his followers. I gotta redo a few little things but so be it. It really wan't much, especially now I know what to do.

Iovara doesn't have much of a role in this game, no. And if you keep murdering innocents, then yeah, Eder will leave. He probably should leave right off the bat if you go on a killing spree with the Eothasian pilgrims, but he's also a little suspicious of Dawnstars, bear in mind, because they're Readceran, and he really idolizes the Watcher. That's how I looked at it, anyway. As for the game seeming short... Don't stick too closely to the main quest. The meat of the game, like FNV, is in the factions. I don't think they really push that on you enough, probably leary of the railroading criticisms they got for Vegas, but I think you should need to do more before the game will let you sail for Ashen Maw, because it does throw off the pacing and make the game seem smaller than it is if you're not a completionist by default.

Eder, Xoti, and Tekehu probably have the most to do with the main plot. Ydwin, a bit, too. But yeah, I've said elsewhere that the first POE seems like another developer would have had you basically start as the equivalent of Eder, and it's really his story and to a lesser extent Durance's, and the Watcher just kind of shows up one day and gets the powers that force them to have to care. But if not for the connection Eder gives you, the Dyrwood would be pretty easy to write off. Tekehu's like that as well.

Tekehu's also a more charismatic version of Kana, who I remember you didn't like. I'm not saying that to change your mind, I just find the difference interesting. Another aumaua chanter. Like Kana, you can put him in heavy armour if you want to make him a frontline. Chants and some of his best druid spells (like Returning Storm and his AOE regen spells) reward him wading into combat and last long enough that the speed reduction from armor doesn't hurt him as badly. Personally I like him as an off-tank, but I often keep him in robes and just give him a spear (increased engagement) and tower shield as a compromise.

I like rangers in this game. People say they suck, and they're kind of underpowered, but the abilities they get are a lot of fun. On my first playthrough, the chanter/cipher, I ended up hiring an adventurer who was a fire godlike Stalker/Unbroken with a bear companion and she was pretty much indestructible. One of my later runs was a Corpse-Eater/Streetfighter orlan noble (because Hannibal), and that ended up being the run where I came back at the end and killed and ate all the factions, because that was something I never tried in New Vegas.

It is kind of a thing with Obsidian, isn't it? Eating people? It just seems to come up a lot more with their games than in others I've played. And it's not that it doesn't make sense, but it still seems like they go out of their way to include it.

If Tekehu is taking on Eder's role, then Xoti is a bit like the anti-Durance of this game. Tekehu has the connection to the country you're in, Xoti has the connection to the jerkass gods, and Eder settles into more of a secondary sidekick role this time around — he's the character with the closest connection to the Watcher.

But you've seen how Xoti can be sort of cloying — have you seen some of overzealous, obsessive, dark side of her fanaticism? It's probably most on display if you've got Pallegina along. But she has this need to "shepherd" souls that goes beyond wanting to protect the souls themselves. Wanting to do what's "good" for people without really asking herself why it's good or if it's what they want. But having her scoop up souls with her lantern is how you progress her personal quest.

Well Cannibal was a perk from FO 3. NV just kinda continued it.

Also it's nice to hear somebody else played a Corpse Eater. I see little mention of them compared to Berserkers and what I have read is pretty critical, saying they're one of the worst subclasses. I mean...I think it's fucking rad I can restore my talent pools by eating a corpse. Ain't gonna be no shortage of those in most fights. This one dickhead pirate boarded me when I was trying to win a naval battle with him and I went to down with Frenzy, Wounding Shot, eat corpse of Paladin, then do more Frenzy and Wounding Shot.

As for doing faction quests vs. the main plot, it's not like NV so far as I know because picking a faction IS the main plot of New Vegas. This is more like Skyrim where you can ignore the factions and just do the main story, I think.

Right, in that sense it is, but what I mean is that the bulk of the content and length of the game is in the factions. That's why it's weird that they don't push them further into the forefront, and just let you follow in Eothas's footsteps right away after Hasongo.

The cannibalism thing shows up in Sith Lords with Hanharr, Tyranny with Kills-in-Shadow, Outer Worlds (a little bit), there were jokes about Soylent Green in Fallout, Pillars 1 has all undead invariably rotting into flesh-eating zombies. Like I said, it makes sense in context, it's not necessarily intrusive or anything, but it's an oddly specific thing to keep adding in.

So I'm at Deadlight again because I was told there's a "sidekick" here and I'm trying to find eventual replacements or Eder and Xoti and maybe even Pallegina. The first two are going to be hitting the bench because my PC just flat-out doesn't like them and I tend to be of one mind with my PC. I may like them as characters b(well, I like Eder) but I really do get into the mind of my character and those two tend annoy the hell outta my character so I wanna find others.I got the sidekick at the animancy tower but I know there's more hence going back to Deadlight.

Anyway, I met Aeldys. I figure this is as good a place as any to stop and post my thoughts. I keep meaning to but there's so much to do in this game that it's hard to find a good cut-off point. It's just one more thing and then one more thing and then one one more thing.

I'm Level 10 now and notable choices include: killing Benweth, helping Dereo get to view that mosaic, lying totally to the Prince about what I found in Delver's Row and at the Koizi swamp place, starting to romance Tekehu, and...uh....wow,that doesn't sound like a lot but I've done so much. I encouraged Xoti towards "darkness" as it's her duty and I learned that random kid and I killed along with the others at Hasongo in my aborted run must have been Eder's son or something. (I usually do this just for fun then reload but it's often informative. Now I know why it said I failed Eder's quest by doing this)

Also those Animancer idiots nearly got my soul obliterated. I actually did get a game over by not resisting enough.

Now onto periodic thoughts:

    Things don't go as planned
I appreciate that this game has 100% more voice-acting. It was rather annoying in POE 1 when my party member or somebody would have a voiced text box then the next text box would have to be read. Maybe it was a cost saving measure and I can sympathize with that, but I prefer this. If you're gonna have voice-acting, I want all of it.

This is far and away the best song in the whole game. I know it's suicidal and a waste of time but it just makes me wanna board every time instead of doing a naval battle. https://youtu.be/UKvCvDr-Aeo

The tavern theme is also way better in this game.

This is not really relevant but does anybody here know the history of alcoholic drinks? Why do you only hear about "mead" and "grog" in old time-y stuff like this or Harry Potter? Where was their beer back then and where is our mead now?

So the "kite away some enemies away from the main group" strategy does still work in this game, at least kinda. I had tried it earlier with no success. But I was hopelessly stuck on the Lady Epero bounty and I refused to come back when I was one measly level higher. It was Epero, a Wizard, two Swashbucklers and 3 dogs. Then I started to actually explore some and noticed I could sneak into this side room and the second floor. I figured this was at least a better place to make my stand as it wouldallow me to kill the dogs and lure the fighters away from their magic support. Little did I realize I could kill the two dogs in the side room and lure in one ofthe Swashbucklers as well. So now the fight was just the bounty, the wizard, one dog and one Swashbuckler. Suddenly it became a whole lot easier.

My PC is not really interested in the plight of the Roparu but she knows Tekehu is and so she does what she can for his sake. He really does make my character act...out of character. I just had a chat with him about his place within the Huana society where he lamented his role as "savior." I got Progressive for agreeing with him that he should live for himself first and foremost. Normally I would probably lean towards Traditional and a stern-faced "do what you are told" but Tekehu rebuff any attempt at such coldness. I just wanna make him smile.

I really, really don't like lying. I'll have my character slaughter a hundred people with no problem but tell a lie? It pains me. But I lied through my teeth to the prince. I was tempted to be Pro-Huana, even gave that stolen book to the Huana representative instead of the Rauatai. But after exploring the Gullet I have concluded the future of the Huana and the Deadfire rests in other hands. It's not about compassion as such as my character isn't particularly concerned with the Roparu's suffering. It's more that a civilization or culture built on such a rocky foundation is worthless. Fantasy caste systems do work occasionally - and no doubt many would consider that the most fantastical element of all - but it's plain that the current royals are inept. My captain has sometimes threatened to just throw everybody overboard if they're unhappy, or kill somebody for stealing food. You lose Morale that way. You have to keep your people motivated, even the poors and underclasses. Call it duty or indoctrination, whatever it is that sustains caste systems like the Huana's will not endure if you botch them so totally. You have to give your people bread and purpose both and the Huana monarchs barely supply either one. There is no value in self-determination or culture that is so rotten or incompetent that it will just inevitably shit itself to death anyway. I see the pro-Huana side as less Pro-Huana and more Pro-Huana's social structure and imbecllic leadership.

The real hero of all this though is the Principi, helping to keep the poor alive while their superiors let them starve. They're the ones really keeping Huana society afloat in Neketaka. Even the Huana realize this as seen in the Watershapers aiding them.

I was worried Tekehu would be mad at me for lying to the Prince about not finding anything on Koizi but all he says after the talk is starting the romance. I like that, when he asks if there's anybody I like, the game let me mention Iovara. There was somebody I did love but she's been dead so long. Stuff like that makes me very giddy. But now I have my eyes on somebody new, somebody whose heart still beats, "pretty fish."

Hazanui: There's a cost to every victory. And the win goes to those willing to make a sacrifice.

Also the wiki says Kith Meat is dropped by most enemies but I haven't found any apart from the one island.

Also I just got Pallegina. This game is not very subtle about "INITIATE ROMANCE" options. (Which is probably for the best since stumbling into romances is a big pet peeve for some folks ) I wonder what happens if I start a romance with multiple party members? But I'm not tempted, I already have my beloved Godlike who regales me with the most lewd conversations.

I do confess though, I kinda searched out a spoiler here - not intentionally but i was curious if she would actually be at the VTC Headquarters since she was banished in my POE 1 save. She was there, obviously, but Googling had somebody say she will flat-out leave your party"in this route" if I side with anybody but the Company. If that's true....that sucks. Once I'm don with Eder and Xoti's quests, I planned on dumping' em both and Pallegina will take Eder's role and Serafen will take Xoti's. If I can make it work, anyway. Always had a Cleric in my party in this game and the one before.... I'm making Pallegina super tanky healer but if she's gonna be leaving me.... I know already that, whatever faction I do end up choosing, it wasn't be the VTC.

I mentioned earlier I favor Tradition and so I favor the "old blood." Customs, respect, loyalty. But at the sme time...my character has definitely undergone a revision. The "zealous fanatic to the gods" Watcher I had envisioned has dropped away. All the plans in the world can't stand up to a nice, organic roleplay. A lot of my initial ideas are falling by the wayside as I like Aeldys quite a lot; my PC is a blunt sort and respects her brutal honesty. But at the same time, I really do like Maia. Each faction has a representative but I don't even consider my dear Tekehu to really be the Huana representative. He criticizes the queen constantly in the Gullet. Pallegina just seems...surly and defensive and isn't exactly tempting me towards the money-grubbing corporation. And I haven't talked to Serafen in forever. No, only Maia and my visit to the Brass Citadel has really had an impact on my character's faction leaning. This is part of what I was saying about my character kinda "growing beyond" what I originally planned. The Rauatai seem to be the "tech" faction. Every good fantasy setting has one. They would bring order to the chaos of nature, put the future of kithkind in kith hands instead of those of the gods. And it makes sense given their homeland is so much less hospitable than the Deadfire. They have prospered through their own efforts, not anyone else's, or so they claim. The Deadfire is an opportunity for them to escape the restrictions and limits of their inferior homeland and build a glorious new future. They would bring order and prosperity to all. Or so is their sales pitch and it is an appealing one for me. One of Maia's dispositions is Dutiful and I definitely still gravitate to that, even if most everything else has fallen by the wayside.

Honestly, right now, as things stand, it's Rauatai or the Principi and it ain't even close.

Random: The wiki doesn't mention GM's voice-actress but she sounded like Tara Platt to me. Probably wrong but that's the first name that came to my mind as she sounds so much like Temari from back when I watched Naruto. She was the only voice I thought I recognized, however. Well, Richard Epcar was a few minor characters. That guy is in everything.

EDIT:

Another reason I've lost the religious fanatic ideal is that Ondra is apparently a jealous mom and is gonna cause problems for me and Tekehu. To hell with her.

Also I wasn't sure how to build Maia or Pallegina so I Googled that, too. I made Pallegina a Herald and Maia Geomancer. Alloth is probably never coming back to my main party so Geomancer seemed wise and also I read The Red Hand I stole pairs perfectly with Essential Phantom. And I wanted the extra buffs and healing from Pallegina being part Chanter. Oh and summons.

The voice acting is nice but in a game with this much text, it's super-expensive, and is the other major component in why the game couldn't break even, along with just not enough people buying what turned out to be a niche subgenre title. (Another FPS action RPG like The Outer Worlds, on the other hand...)

Pirates and vikings did have beer, but beer didn't keep on long voyages the way rum did, and vikings just preferred mead when they could get it. A lot of sweeter drinks like mead have fallen by the wayside in the English-speaking world just because culturally we seem to prefer bitterer fare. As for grog, that was usually just rum (to keep the crew placated), water (to make it last longer), and often a bit of citrus (to keep scurvy at bay).

The prince is actually very pro-reform, it turns out. I think the Kahanga are actually surprisingly competent, but they're stuck between public opinion among the tribes and the trading companies just waiting to pounce on any weakness. Aruihi can't be open about it, but he's willing to collude with the Principi or Dawnstars and let the black market remain open as long as they're feeding the Roparu, one way or another.

Aeldys is cool. I get a strong Claudia Black vibe from her, like she's who they would've hired to voice her if they'd had their first choice. Not just appearance-wise, but in terms of dialogue. Not sure why.

Most of the romances do have a point where you have to choose, but Pallegina isn't a romance option. She remains firmly married to the job here. I've also had her stay with me on every route but RDC, and I'm pretty sure that's not a bug. I think it depends more on your reputation with her, and the Vailians. She will definitely leave if you tank your reputation with the VTC.

I do like Maia (Geomancer is a lot of fun) but the RDC are very much the NCR hardliners from New Vegas. Flawed as the Huana system is, it only came into existence as a stopgap measure to keep the trading companies from simply claiming the archipelago without any resistance at all. And the VTC are actually much more of a tech faction than Rauatai — Rauatai is exclusively interested in military applications and nothing else. The VTC is pushing life-extending medicines, teleportation, and the like. Of course that does all involve animancy and adra, so I suppose you might oppose it on those grounds.

Heralds are great. Heavy armour (if you want) and/or guns, aura, chant, healing, summons. They're one of the tankiest support characters you can make, and you can still throw in some damage potential too.

Well Col. Moore was my favorite NCR character so maybe I'm on theright track.

And with voice-acting, I forgot about Kana. He was very obviously Patrick Seitz.

Thanks for the info about Pallegina and so-forth. I'll try not to murder too many VTC people.

Although it is incredibly peculiar you can sink faction ships with total impunity.....

That's because it's completely viable to get to the endgame without any of them. You just need to have a lot of money to build the best ship possible and have a capable crew. Useful if you want to roleplay as someone thoroughly disgusted with EVERYONE by the final act and just want to hurry up and deal with the jolly green giant already so you can leave the damn Deadfire already.

And yes, every faction will give you reasons to be disgusted by them given what they ask you to do at the end. Except, oddly enough, the pirates.

It's a shame that they didn't give us the option of a Nemnok faction. Hail Nemnok!

[up][up] If you do kill Furrante and leave Aeldys in charge, then yeah, I agree with you. I personally agree with her decision to turn the storms of Ukaizo back on, which is why I've almost always sided with her in all subsequent playthroughs after I've platinum'd the game.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.

On one hand, Aeldys has no interest in turning the pirates into a more civilized nation like Furrante. OTOH, she's not a fucking slaver.
