And despite being then with blasting powers, Jefferson continues to take fire on all sides.

Though things are a little better with Anissa.

Lynn makes a stupid choice that will probably come back to bite us all.

Very intrigued to see where they are going with Khalil.

As for the ASA, honestly, at this point, kill them all. I'm past any kind of sympathy for even the lowest level mooks. The show goes out of its way to portray them as fascists to the bone. Hell, I think Freeland would be better off with the Markovians at this point.

And Grace....sorry, but I just can't get into her character. She just doesn't contribute anything meaningfull at ALL.

If there's something this show has made clear is that what is worse than local racists are military racists.

Also Odell is confirmed not dead but out commission, this new major though could lead to worse attacks in Freeland due to her ignorance of diplomacy to anyone. If she followed through on that threat to have an air strike on Freeland than that would certainly escalate the situation to where the state or national government would have to get involved due to a whole town being wiped off the map by American armed forces. Odell knew that even if the people of Freeland would get hurt they would live and how to keep the Markovian attacks inside a specific area to avoid a national war.

[up][up] Yeah, the ASA has been far more dangerous than the Markovians at this point. I was expecting there to be an uneasy alliance between them and the Pierce family from the season 2 finale, but they've been outright villains since the premiere.

Also, yeah, Grace has not been doing anything for me. She barely resembles her comic book self. She feels like an OC with a comic book name, much like their take on Looker.

I don't like anyone in this fight anymore, everyone except Gambi's an asshole who tries to justify doing asshole things. I guess it's okay that the Anti-Monitor is going to eat them in a couple of weeks.

Helping murderous cops while chewing out the resistance isn't exactly saintly.

He wasn't helping the cops, he was trying to de-escalate conflict before it got worse. The only reason he even defused the bomb Henderson and Holt planted was because he didn't know they were the ones who planted it. At worst, Jefferson is just making understandable mistakes while dealing with a crappy situation.

Also, I love how Henderson gets all huffy about it and tried to recruit Jefferson when he didn't even tell him about the bomb.

Thanks to the ASA's attempt at making Markovians bad despite doing more harm than good in the community, everyone who was a hero has to do bad things and break moral codes. Freeland never had pure goody-twoshoes heroes, just Black Lightning and the police who all struggled with issues then and now. Black Lightning the show always shows the moral grey of it's characters but luckily we are not at the point of Gray-and-Gray Morality.

Guess it isn't over, it's just on pause for the Crisis.

Speaking of which, the promo indiccates it has come for Freeland at last!

I liked the way this show handled the Crisis tie-in. It felt like reading a comic tie-in where the event is used as a backdrop for a more personal, character-driven story related to its main plot.

People who only watch it and not the other DC CW shows will be confused, though.

Eh. It mostly works.

As you said, it comes off a lot like an event tie in from a comic tie in. You don't really need to know the full details for the story.

they called them red skies crossovers in the original series. It was pretty cool of them to do one for black lightning

You'd think Odell dressing like the Gestapo being a universal constant would something of a obvious sign to his morality.

Sadly the idea of this episode being similar to an event tie-in is muddied greatly by everyone that isn't Jefferson being killed by the anti-matter wave. I am glad we also got to watch Jennifer wrestle with her different thoughts manifest. I can't describe one word opposites for the other Jennifers because despite what the subtitles said they aren't strictly bad or good but two different ideals of how to achieve dark forms of peace. Hopefully Jennifer gets to keep the wisdom she gained when Black Lightning returns. Also question for this forum: Because this episode was filled with Jennifer, how well did China Anne Mclain do acting wise? Because I can't say she pulled off everything perfectly.

[up] Yeah. I was dreading the show was going to "both sides" the issue, but they went about it in a different way: Gen rebelled against Odell, but took the wrong approach by "hiding" everyone's powers (and her own), rather than embrace them, while Jinn became consumed by her fear, and in turn, by her powers, and joined Odell's fascist takeover of Freeland.

Great character development for Jennifer.

I hope after the crossover is done, she will kick Odell in the nuts!

So with Crisis over with, Jefferson and his world have been folded into Earth Prime. I gotta wonder how this will affect the rest of his series: Jenn seems to also be aware of what happened from little I caught of the preview of future eps since both she and Jefferson seem to be explaining things to Gambi.

He now has a bunch of new allies in his fight for Freeland: he now knows three reporters who could get information on what's going on in Freeland to the rest of the world (though they are already doing that, but having two prize winning reporters in Clark and Kara lend a hand wouldn't hurt), Barry's speed would be hella useful....there aren't many limits to how he could use his new connections.

Actually, so far people are just assuming this. Looking at this new promo, Jefferson still speaks of an "alternate dimension", so we'll have to wait and see

Having Black Lightning in Earth Prime is a bit tricky based on how evil the government is.

Especially when Supergirl meets semi often with Presidents.

That's a good point.

But there was an indication he's part of their world (Little Mermaid pun not intended) now.

It's a little confusing. Maybe someone should hit Twitter and ask about that.
