And I never did a reread of the manga, so I don't know how many details they've changed/skipped, even though I noticed a few things myself.

They changed a lot. No meeting the resident of the shelter.

The kids go hunting with Ray

Isabella being spared so long as she's the one who gets all the kids. They also promise something else to her that surprises her.

Grandma not being culled.

Peters men infiltrate the shelter a few days after they arrive.

No Andrew. Just masked mooks.

Isabella will also be allowed complete and total freedom by the demons, not Peter.

Sonju and Mujika talking about what theyll do with the humans is not split between a flashback(Which is when Mujika first hears about them and Sonju decides to make use of them). Both are incorporated into the present.

A lot more changes.

Theyve been barely surviving for a whole year. Thats what theyve been doing since no shelter. Emma even struggled with the realization they can barely fed the younger ones.

They learn about degeneration from an elderly follower of Mujika. Seems the "Evil-Blooded" even became its own religion here. Him offering food to a Mujika shrine helps them survive too.

Episode arc about two older brothers struggling to buy food for them and their younger siblings, both of whom are degenerating from eating factory farm food(Specifically a hand. Just 1 hand). One younger sibling is really deformed and looks like a slug with a face, the other has a hand growing out of her skull and a lot of bulging veins. They try to hunt the kids doen to feed theif family.

Norman and his crew are the ones who rescue them in their own disguises.

Apparently next episode is a recap. In an 11-episode season. What is going on with this series?!

Probably having Isabella check up the facts on where the kids went and on what went on when Norman was gone.

[up][up] The usual reason for recap episodes is that production schedule is messed up so badly that they need an extra week.

In an industry that episodes have been finished on the day they're meant to air and productions would normally brute force their way to finish an episode by slapping on as many people as possible, a delay like this raises some eyebrows if it is true. Probably COVID 19 still wrecking havoc + Cloverworks having 2 others shows meaning no safety net to catch it

I started reading the manga again and just can't even compare the two or even manage any excitement over the anime anymore. People at this point are hoping for a "Brotherhood" type of reboot down the line and I can't blame them.

Have they touched on Squiggles at all?

In the anime? Krone hinted at him in season 1 but there has been absolutely no mention of him since.

The Promised Neverland S2 has a Batman vs Superman Martha moment.

My apprehension towards season 2 was justified it seems.

The scene is really not as bad as it sounds though.

Well… It’s a bit funny to see people warm up a lot to the manga’s ending after the anime. [lol]

I didn't think the manga's ending was bad before, but comparing it to what happened in the anime would make the heart grow fonder.

I still can't get over how they made Emma meeting her world's equivalent of God into a still frame.

Anime-onlies must have been pretty damn confused too. Like "Wait, why is there a floating kid demon with a dragon? Where did that come from?"

It’s amusing to think the writers and the mangaka don’t want their name attached to S2.

The committee really fucked them over.

Beyond the Promised Neverland came out this week, and while it's mostly a publication of one shots that are already available on viz.com, there is a new chapter of The Promised Neverland. Apparently, in the two years it took for them to find Emma, the kids started their own conglomerate and got rich- rich enough to buy an airplane. Now that they're settled into their new home, they decided to travel around the world doing all the things they dreamed of doing. Emma even gets to ride a giraffe. Who knows what the future holds, but I'd like to see Emma as a biathlete.

The Promised Neverland Manga Reaches Over 42 Million Copies in Circulation Worldwide

This has naturally brought back criticism of "the lack of a season 2" to which I say they should have done Goldy Pond as S2 and make the Cuvitalada and Raid arcs a movie which would have been HUGE and made "Fuck You" money at the box office and gotten HUGE press for the series and anime.

I also never quite got the hate for the manga ending. There's definitely some weaker points like the stuff witn the Lambda kids not getting as fleshed out as it could have been and I think there should have been a longer gap in terms of when they found Emma, but overall I thought it was perfectly fine. The big issue seems to be that people REALLY do not like that Emma didn't want to Genocide the demons which is...a disturbing take especially since she's seen first hand that most demons live in fairly impoverished conditions and aren't so much evil as forced into that life by those in power so her wanting to find a way that works for everyone is perfectly in character. Hell, even her deal with "The One" having a loophole makes sense both in terms of making new memories or even him allowing it on the grounds that EVERYONE who seemingly made a deal with him did so for selfish personal reasons except for Emma which he admired. At least, that's my take on the matter

Yeah, I need to know what the fuck happened with seasom 2, hopefully someone talks some day. Was it the amount of guns wielded by children in that arc as some have speculated? With all the other weird shit that happens in anime that's hard to believe.

The manga's final stretch has pacing issues and not enough world-building for the story its trying to tell, but there really isn't as much hate for it as the internet makes it seem. See most all other shonen that has/is close to ending after peaking very early. Not bad IMO, but not as good as a lot of people expected.

There was clear plans to go in a different direction, but it’s also clear around episode 3/4 that whatever plans they did have came to screeching halt to make Promised Neverland 2 the last season and railroad back to the manga. For the most part anyways.
