Pokemon Go

I just keep seeing the eternal, inescapable, inevitable Giratinas and Togekisses. I do have to say that my maxed 100%, double moved, Buddy Badged Articuno is having the time of his life, though. It's kinda funny: I applied all that (aside from the buddy boost, but he was second, after Rayquaza) ages ago out of favouratism. Never would have guessed a couple TMs would have made him such a terror a year and some change down the line.

With us being drowned in even more costumed Mons, I feel like they need to introduce the Stylish League, which is a silly league that only allows costumes. Yes, I realize that it would be 50% Pikachus and clearly have no ulterior motives to see that. >.>

I miss when we could evolve costume 'mons. I got it when ones with the full hoods, like Mimikyu Pikachu, weren't allowed to evolve, but red party hat Pika and Eevee can't? Bleh.

Also, huh, I might have missed the announcement, but apparently, among the additions to promote Pokemon Day are the clones of the Gen I starter evolutions from Mewtwo Strikes Back. I was a bit too busy to even bother trying, but I saw Clone Blastoise in a 4-star yesterday. Kinda cool; I wonder if it's just cosmetic, or if they have different movesets.

I heard Clone Venusaur, Clone Charizard, and Clone Blastoise have movesets you can normally get during Community Day, but don't quote me on that.

They do indeed have the community day moves. It's really weird that Niantic didn't announce that, since it's probably the most attractive part of the clones.

And yeah, I'm a little weirded out about the simple costumes not being able to evolve. It annoys me a little because I can't expand my maxed Raichu army. At the same time, I'm a bit relieved because getting all variations of the flower crown Eevee was already annoying enough the first time (and I say this as someone who quite likes Eevee and its Eeveelutions). I suppose I could get behind it if Magnetic Lures could force Jolteon evolutions and they added Water and Fire Lures.

The party hat pokemon are a waste of time. I just ignore them.

Caught my first Armored Mewtwo. Is Armored Mewtwo supposed to be really bulky or something? It felt like the 9-person team I was on took a while to finally bring it down.

The armor also looks like something out of a Square Enix game.

Yes, Armored Mewtwo tanks his Atk in exchange for a big Def bump compared to his normal form. It makes that version less risky in Pv P.

Wish I could get him, but work and all.

Oh, and in terms of "the least useful thing possible," I just found out that Clone Pikachu from the movie is also added, as a photobomb possibility. You know, in case you desperately want yet another Pikachu that isn't allowed to evolve and has only the barest difference between standard Pikachu (the edge where the black meets the yellow on its ear tips is jagged instead of straight). I mean, granted, it's not like I need Smeargle at this point either, but Clone Pika is beyond pointless.

The one funny part is that it photobombs with regular Pika, and it looked kind of like they were about to jump my Poliwrath, who was too busy posing to notice them.

why are the newer "cosmetic" pikas and eevees unable to evolve? I hate this.

I'm tired of them, too. I've gotten at least one party hat Eevee and don't really have any interest in catching any more nor any of the party hat Pikachus.

Because Niantic can be amazingly lazy.

EDIT: Geez, Ominous Wind is really stupid when it procs. My Giratina-O just swept the entire team because of a lucky roll. Feels a little dirty.

Never mind, my opponent procced it on one of my next matches and I lost that one. >.>

Out of curiosity, can the Clone Pokemon showing up in raids be female?

I think they can. Though do genders even affect anything besides slight appearance differences?

I did see a female Clone Venusaur in a raid yesterday, yeah.

Starters are 87.5% male, so it's not a surprise that seeing female version in those raids would be rare.

Not for these particular ones. Go imports gender-specific evolution restrictions from the main games where applicable, though.

At least they were kinda cool when they did, this just seems like laziness.

Costume (and clone) pokemon are getting annoying. I've seen a few ideas tossed around (an extension to the pokedex, making them equipable items) that would at least tone down the problem (letting you 'keep' them without actually having to keep all the assorted weak pokemon in your storage). Wouldn't even be that bad on the profit (I guess it would slightly discourage storage increases but there's probably more than enough for that). At least the ones that can evolve have a little more use - as much as it was a waste of a research breakthrough, I do like my flower crown Flareon.

I'm just ignoring them until the event blows over. We're gonna get more hats in the next event anyway.

At least you can still get candies from them. One can never have too much candy.

I don't need candy from Pokemon I don't use or don't plan to grind for anymore. And don't say "you get stardust", because I rather be able to multi select and save time.

Hey, one can never have too much Stardust either. I'll take Stardust from wherever I can get them.

But seriously, I do get what you mean; I'm not exactly going after Party Hat Eevees either. Party Hat Pikachus and Clone Pikachus I'm going for, because I recently caught an Alolan Raichu and I want to level it up.
