It might be easier to download Ingress and level to 10 if you really want to do submissions. That's still your only option if you're not in one of the beta locations.

A new update is starting to roll out. In addition to the Pokestop Nomination beta, the official notes include:

• You can un-favourite a Pokemon from the trade interface.
• You can get rid of notifications by swiping.
• If you have an EX-Raid pass, you can share it with one friend.

So, two additions that should have been in the features in the first place. Classic Niantic.

The Ex sharing is legit a great improvement, though I still think the base EX Raid as a feature is terrible.

Chrales found references to Crabhammer (?) and Kecleon (!) in the code. Also, wild shinies now have a mark◊, which is great for shinies that aren't easy to see or for colour-blind players.

EDIT: Rotating Pokemon in the Pokedex and hearing their cries seems to be back!

Okay, it looks like the Kanto event is live. Grimer and Geodude have already been found shiny in the wild, so the preliminary assumption is that the shiny forms for Alolan forms have been released, in both their Alolan and Kantoan forms. EDIT: Looks like it's just those two, but their Alolan forms are also shiny. Just to make 7km eggs even sweeter.

EDIT: Someone already got a Zapdos, and it has Thundershock again. It can be assumed that all the birds have their special moves (Sky Attack for Moltres, and I think Hurricane for Articuno).

EDIT 2: Raids now last 90 minutes, and raid eggs hatch in 15.

I just found a Chansey and Dratini by my work. We never get crazy good stuff like that. Someone also spotted a 96% Laptras just far enough away that I can't reasonably get to it. These spawns are nuts.

Reports are coming in of other Pokemon appearing in 7km eggs, such as Porygon and Tangela. It's been pointed out that it's all Pokemon that evolve in Gen 4.

Huh. That's way nicer than the spawns I've seen so far. My unusual spawns were Porygon (which I've run into about once a month, so it didn't surprise me that much) and Rhyhorn (which I admittedly only generally see in nests). But I haven't had much chance to really get out there yet.

I'm a little worried about 15 minute hatch timers... that's not much time to get over to a spawn, and local people aren't always the best at hanging around for a raid group to coalesce. Should be interesting this weekend, though.

This is nuts. I’ve found 3 Lapras in 10 minutes. That’s about as many as I’ve found TOTAL in two years.

I have seen plenty of Lapras... raids. Which is nice, but not entirely unexpected.

Similar experience: I saw four wild Chanseys yesterday. That's twice as many as I've seen in the past four months. That's my entire Pokemon career to date and odds are it could be pushed out to years if I'd been playing that long because of how rare Chansey is.

I'd also never seen a wild Dratini, period, before yesterday.

Looks like the nesting system has updated with 10 new nesting species:

• Sableye
• Sudowoodo
• Mantine
• Skarmory
• Plusle
• Minun
• Stantler
• Lileep
• Anorith
• Phanpy

As an extension, this means the nests have changed.

Also, I'm starting to get some luck with the oddball spawns. I managed to finally find a wild Chansey - seriously, the first time I ever encountered one (all my previous ones were hatches, trades, and research rewards). I also found a wild Hitmonchan, which is only the third time I ever ran into one of those.

I've found a couple of Chansey, but no more Lapras after that crazy afternoon. I've also managed to get a shiny Grimer!

Nice! I've been going after those and after Geodude, but no shinies. That said, I did manage to get a lucky Grimer from a friend after a raid this weekend, so I have something to spend all those candies I'm getting.

Side note: I just realized that, in terms of personal encounters, I've encountered three times as many wild Dragonites as I have wild Chanseys in my 2+ years of playing this game. Sigh... my luck is annoying.

Had a fairly productive weekend, myself, even if getting my second shiny Articuno (to trade to my friend in case the game is unkind to him on his own rolls) took way too long (was the very last one in a set of eleven...). On the upside, the game saw it fit to throw a 100% Articuno at me, so I guess I'm going to be powering that up.

Saw something like eight wild Chanseys, though none of them were particularly good IV. One was level 27 or thereabouts, so I at least have a out-of-the-box gym troll. Probably not going to invest in making it a Blissey, but 1050CP Chanseys can still stall gyms well enough. Probably saw at least 20 Charmanders, but no shiny. Also, about four wild Dratinis and a raid Dratini, but no dice on the pink noodle. Got something like 3-4 Lapras, too, but all of them are trade bait (one's a level 30 29%, so at least the next person to have her might get an immediately usable good one).

Also got to play raid hero with my full Smack Down team (has one 40, a 35 and four 30s). There was a group of just three people who wanted to do a Moltres and jumping in with my Tyranitars let us cleanly four-man it.

Oddly, very few people wanted to do Zapdos, which, of course, was 80% of the first couple days' spawns in my area. At least it was more popular than Regirock (a high bar to clear, I know).

Curious - do we have any indications of rate increases for Gen I shinies? I've talked with a few locally, and anecdotally, we have seen a few more shinies... but it's all stuff that was released in previous events (my contribution was a shiny Kabuto; there was a shiny Dratini and a shiny Charmander among a couple others I talked to). That's just anecdotal from a couple people, though, so I thought more data would be useful.

I've been checking everything, and all I've found was that one Grimer. I think part of it is that there are a lot of Gen 1 shinies, so you're more likely to find a shiny species right now.

I've been pointedly targeting Charmander and Dratini where I can (going as far to do the Dratini raids). No dice. I've seen too many reports of Gen 1 shinies from my raid group, either (a couple of Grimers, but that seems to be roughly it thus far), so I can't imagine it's much of an increase (if any).

BTW, Anura, we're gonna be Best Friends in a little over a week. Wanna try to coordinate an egged gift for 200k EXP?

Welp, I just hatched my last two missing regionals (kanga and mime), so I'm a happy camper.

How many days do we have left on that? I haven't been keeping track.

So a bunch of things have happened:

• According to a push notification lots of people are getting, Deoxys will be replacing Mewtwo in EX-Raids.
• Someone digging in the files on Niantic's site found this image.◊ Looks like we're getting Beldum for October's Community Day, and Meteor Mash will probably be Metagross's exclusive move since it was recently found in the code.
• There's been some more updates to Kecleon's data. How close it is to actual release is unknown, but it seems to be coming.

Eight days, including today's gift, so if we're consistent, we should get it on the 26th.

Got a 98% Beldum I haven't bothered evolving up yet. Guess it'll cool it a bit longer until community day.

Official Deoxys announcement. Looks like it's Normal Forme only for now, and the new EX-Pass sharing feature requires at least Ultra Friends status. Also, EX-Gyms now have a visible tag in their stat screen.

Must be rolling out for Android users later. I just checked the gyms that I know for sure are EX raid-able on my list of badges, and there's no tag on them.

It's not live yet on any devices. Also, I didn't mention this before, but the Mewtwo in regular raids won't have Shadow Ball or Hyper Beam. Those are legacy now to the old EX-Raid Mewtwo. We're not sure what it'll be getting to replace it yet.
