So the TRS thread is done, now. The problem with the page, i've realized, isn't the definition, actually, but the way it is mis-used.

How it should be:

Original work happens- many more copy it- original might not seem as original to modern audiences

Instead, people are doing it like this.

Original work happens- many more copy it- original is no longer enjoyed as much

And even the ones with proper definition are written way too negatively. Cliched doesn't mean bad. Lots of well-loved movies are highly cliched. The Lego Movie was one of the most well-loved of 2014, and it was just another "normal guy saves the world" story. Big Hero 6 too, well-loved, just another "after a tragic accident, a normal dude puts together a group of superheroes and saves the world" story. And Zootopia, extremely popular, just another "unlikely duo fights crime". And so on.

I'll rewrite the examples to reflect that. Already done Anime, Comics, and Film.

I am not sure that your edits do not count as vandalism. I wonder if I were to review the changes you made whether I would take issue with them?

Why do you care so much about this particular page?

To be clear. If the examples were worded negatively, I would have no problem with a rewrite. But calling something clichéd is not negative wording. And I don't buy that the lego movie is cliché.

Lots of questions!

1. They do not count as vandalism, at all.

2. I care about the page because it has a lot of mis-use that no one's had issue with

3. The Lego Movie is very cliched. No different from any other "normal guy finds out he is the chosen one and saves the world" stories.

Hey, you know, when we close a TRS topic for lack of consensus, that does not mean, "Go and make the changes you wanted to make all by yourself."

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
