Those two slots remain empty but I don't know what's up with the percentage.

This song needs more love.

Never mind, figured it out. I forgot to craft the Fear Itself suit.

But of course, since spending tokens on shit it turns out I don't need has been a running gag for this playthrough, before realizing that I assumed it was because there was a suit mod I didn't pick keeping me from getting it, so I spent all five of my challenge tokens on some worthless armor mod I don't need.

Which means I now have to perfect all of Taskmaster's missions after all. Joy.

Honestly, I haven’t even found them that hard. They just require some practice. I’m usually terrible at stuff like this but I’ve managed to get gold on all the ones I’ve done so far (about 7 of them).

Okay, it took like an hour but I finally got those six challenge tokens. Game Platinumed! Yay!

@Sigilbreaker

Spidey also would have gotten the information if he hadn't interfered. The thing is your complaints would be valid if MJ had ever actually gotten herself into trouble and hindered Spidey in some way, but that never happened. You can argue that he could have done every useful thing she did in the story, but we have no way of knowing if that's actually true. He messes up on his own a few times in the story. Who's to say he wouldn't have in any of these situations? Now, obviously his protectiveness is understandable since she's just a normal person, but doing all this dangerous stuff is her decision. And she's damn good at it too. He should have realized that he couldn't ever talk her out of doing her own thing and instead should have just worked with her. Which is basically what he does near the end of the game, I guess.

Speaking of, the mission where MJ sneaks into Norman's heavily fortified apartment at the end shows that she's perfectly willing to keep Spidey in the loop and tell him when she needs his help as long as he doesn't just try to shut her out. The bottom line is that even if you think Spidey is right to keep MJ out of this, the game treats him as being in the wrong and clearly shows that things would have gotten a lot worse if she hadn't done her thing.

This is the first time in along time I've absolutely felt completely satisfied by a story while still wanting a sequel crazy bad.

I think it's because they set up the sequel hooks really well.

SHIELD makes the most sense, since Taskmaster said his employer wanted to recruit Spidey.

Love the game, serious GOTY candidate, and my personal pick (of course, I’ve barely played anything new this year because I spent most of it without a job, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably going to be incomparable), but I do have one thing I want to see in the sequel.

Wider style of suit powers. Specifically, there are a couple that I think should really be passive abilities. The Noir, 2099, and Velocity suits stand out in that regard. Or even just include passive and active powers on each suit. Like the Advanced suit would generate focus a little faster automatically and would do it continuously when activated. Web Bloom and Spider-Bro would slowly reload web/electric gadgets automatically, Velocity has a permanent speed boost, but gives a way bigger one when activated, etc.

Inspired by me trying the 2099 suit for two minutes last night, going “the gravity doesn’t seem any different,” and switching back to Big Time before remembering this morning that you HAVE to activate suit powers.

Also, brutes can goneat a dick. The combat system is not built to handle these guys efficiently at all.

Let me rephrase:

Brutes have no business being in the Taskmaster challenges. It’s borderline impossible to take them out quickly, and they give you no room to perfect dodge them. They literally just hit me three times in a row without being able to react at all.

I have ONE challenge left, the Harlem combat challenge, and it’s the only one in the game that’s frustrated me to the point of turning it off and giving up for the night.

Use costume boosts to up your focus gauge quickly, and then take them down with finishers if doing them in the old fashioned way is giving you trouble.

[up][up] During the bit above where I was trying to get challenge tokens quickly by perfecting some of his missions, one of the ones I tried was the Harlem combat one. I gave up after about twenty minutes, and kept to the bomb challenges (which are far more natural to get the hang of).

I'm not sure what they were thinking with that one. The plus shape of the arena and the staggered waves means that you have to stop fighting and spend time traversing (which, if you don't get an immediate start, loses you the combo bonus you need to get gold). In order to maintain your combo, your best bet is to traverse halfway then zipline to an enemy, but since each wave leads with a brute - who just throw you if you try to do that - you're basically guaranteed to drop that combo (and take a penalty on your health bonus) anyway unless you get lucky with the spawn locations / pathing.

Brutes can be taken out quickly by web bombing / impact webbing them and then throwing them into walls (which also works on swordsmen and whips, making dealing with them a lot easier), but they're really difficult to take out efficiently, and even with that trick you have to prioritize and work around them to a pointed degree. So I agree that putting them in the combo challenges, at least as many at that mission has, is bullshit.

Though I agree that by the end of the game, even outside the Taskmaster challenges, Battle Focus is a must for any combat encounter. The other ones are cool but not really as useful.

Okay, so after watching a few youtube videos and then putting it into practice myself, I've found getting Gold Medals for the Bomb Challenges to be pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Once you know the correct path to go, it's all a matter of swinging over the bomb and then web zipping to the ground next to it.

Fuck the drones though.

A good way to get gold on the combat challenges is to use the drones and the spider-bro ability. They make those challenges go by quickly.

I'm having a problem with the stealth ones. I'm taking them all out really fast and I've memorized their order perfectly, but no matter how fast I go, I can't get anywhere close to getting the third tier and its frustrating. I don't know quite what I'm missing at this point.

Also, one of the stealth missions at the North end of the map is a pain in the ass. The one on top of a bunch of buildings. I can't get quite a clear order on them and even just completing it once took ages.

Known: The problem with webbing them up and chucking them into walls is that the web throw animation takes so long that I literally always get shot out of it. Also, Spidey always seems to want to throw things at other enemies, so you have to actively try to throw them at something they'll stick to. So I think what they want you to do is take out all the gun enemies, and then deal with the brutes? Also, enemies with shock sticks that block your attacks are irritating. Not unfair, just frustrating to have in an already difficult challenge.

Lionheart: The drone challenges are tricky, but doable. It helps if you break the mindset that you have to go fast. Take a couple runs to learn the course, and you'll naturally speed up as you figure out the moves you need to get between the cameras. Point Launches are definitely your friend.

Ink Dagger: I think I know the one you mean. Try getting up to the highest level and working your way down. Stealth loves the high ground, and if you're perched above enemies on the lower levels, enemies on higher levels are still level with you and can spot you. What you're mainly looking for is Perch Takedowns, and Web Zip Takedowns. You pretty much don't want to use gadgets at all, with the exception of the trip mines if someone is out of the way. Learn enemy placements, make a plan, and work to execute it quickly. Stealth missions do have a combo bonus, so you want to maintain it as much as possible (though it doesn't need to be perfect).

There's a suit mod that lets you permanently see whether an enemy is safe to take out or not once they've been scanned. Use it. Try to find the ones who are, and work backwards from them. If there's three guys on a level, and one of them is safe to take out, it's surprisingly simple to get all three in about two seconds, since taking out one makes the next one safe, etc. and you can just web zip between them.

EDIT: Oh! And for all challenges, don’t underestimate psychology. Wear the Noir or Big Time suit for stealth challenges. Wear one of the Spider Armors for combat. Wear a sleek one for drone and bomb challenges. It helps.

If Spider-Man doesn't web throw an enemy into the wall, you can just follow up with a few quick web shots on the downed enemy and they'll get webbed to the floor instead.

Or if you web them up, do a combo, and launch them, they web up when they hit a wall. Personally I do that one just because it keeps me able to dodge better.

I got it shortly after I posted this morning. I’ve done all of the side content available right now. I think I still have 3-4 different types of side content to unlock though? And a new form of base is definitely one of them because I’m short TONS of tokens from them.

I have a little over 70% completion, so that’s a decent chunk of game left.
