The mermaids in my country are called Mami-water (which may or may not be pidgin for ocean mother) and are generally tied to stories of seducing men and killing them.
Honestly I feel mermaids or mermaid like beings in a lot of stories tend to be bad news(tm)

I'm willing to bet most mermeid stories are about them seducing and killing men before they were toned down in modern times.

Okay, I admit, she is better than Summer Fran in terms of being a support-saber with the stars provided by her first skill and if using her NP first in an NP-chain, leaves the opponent basically open with gaps in their defenses for the real damage dealer to deliver the hurt towards them.
I would not recommend her being the "main" damage dealer though, in that regard, Saber Fran would be the better option.
