[up][up] Congrats on passing that, I had a good time with her myself when it was my turn back then...(Nightingale, Mash and Support Merlin. It took a while, but if it is the waiting game, I hardly lose...)

You're making good progress to the point where the welfare-rider in the near future will become available for yousmile

...

Okay, this might sound odd...

But have any of you had these weird dreams?

Like "Dreams that are so real that you have no idea that you're dreaming until you actually wake up and realize that then?"

I did, and it was not fun...not at all.

Especially when the dream in question involved certain amounts of self-awareness as well...

...and 3-rolls.

...And a certain "summoning".

Then waking up.

(Maybe it is the event that is just getting on my mind more than I thought.)

Anyone else that have gone through this?

Or is it just me?

no, i've definitely done that....

i dream of rolling characters i want in gacha all the time, waking up all excited to build them, and then remembering it was a dream.

... except last time, i actually did roll the character i wanted

I had a dream that involved Sieg once.

Well, in my case, I was really, really mad when I woke up after that dream.

Why?

I had rolled Merlin.

And then I remembered that he's not showing up in a free gacha until next year.

(Cue me groaning into my pillow)

I have FGO dreams once in a while but I forget what exactly I'm rolling for like five minutes after I wake up.

A good thing tbh because otherwise they'd bug me all the time

When else will I get the servants I like but in my dreams.

Though the last time I dreamt about anything FGO related it was around new years when my account got stolen and the dream was support telling me that they'd gotten my account back. So you can imagine my disappointment when the e-mail I had gotten overnight was quite contrary to that.

I never had a dream involving this franchise.

Because dreams only happen when you have a good sleeping schedule and I can't remember a time in my life my sleeping habits could be described as anything other than "fucked".

Not this franchise, no, mostly because my only exposure to it is this game and the first few minutes of FSN's first episode.

Final Fantasy is a different story, but that's neither here nor there.

Actually I just remembered: I once dreamed, a real long time ago, that I was in a FPS fighting a giant mechanical spider on the surface of Mars.

I used to watch my cousins play Doom for fun back then which I guess explains that.

[up][up]You should try out Fate/Zero, it's the usual Gateway Series around these parts.

I've honestly never finished fate/zero. Its on Netflix so I have no excuses but I just lose interest after an episode, not helped by the fact that I already know everything that's going to happen and it has one of my least favoured ensemble casts next to extra (apocrypha's servants save it but most of the masters suck)

Fate/Zero has the issue where the first couple episodes are just exposition-filled set up, and I can totally understand why you'd lose interest quickly.

Fortunately (?) everything past that is honestly some of the best writing Fate has ever had in terms of pacing, themes, and character development. And while it could be criticized for being at-odds in tone when compared to most other Fate works, i actually find that it being a tragedy sets up very well for the happier ending of the Unlimited Blade Works anime, and the two act as a sort of foil for each other in many regards.

Helps that the work it is adapted from is a singular narrative so it doesn't suffer from several of the problems that plague adaptations of the original Visual Novel.

True, even Unlimited Blade Works, which was one of the best adaptations, had to add stuff from other routes in a low key manner, use some Adaptation Expansion and overall felt like it was retooled as a sequel to Zero.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.

Someone broke down the general difficulties with thatvwork, so let me repost it here:

The above-mentioned Fate/stay night is an interesting case in this regard, due to the fact its story branches have to be played in a certain order. The first route, Fate, take the time to put all its cards on the table for the player's sake, and demonstrates how the central conflict is intended to play out. This makes it pretty straightforward to adapt since all the exposition is already there— in fact the first anime adaption came just two years after release, with the only major deviation being the removal of the porn scenes. The second route, Unlimited Blade Works, has a clear point of divergence that allows the story to focus on certain characters and events that were glossed over or even Killed Offscreen the first time around, but this point is before more of the exposition happens. Shirou actually complains several times that he has to play catch-up with all the magi-babble Tohsaka spits out, but the game knows the player's already familiar with these concepts. This all makes UBW very difficult to adapt to another medium without destroying the pacing with tons of additional exposition, and even the best-regarded attempts are admitted to have some Continuity Lockout. The third route, Heaven's Feel, was long consider completely un-adaptable. Put simply, the plot is driven by an In-Universe case of Off the Rails and without understanding how things are supposed to go (which is completely skipped, as the player's been show twice by now), it's next to impossible to see where things go wrong, let alone understand the characters' reactions. Additionally, a third subset of characters are focused on, and take full advantage of two whole routes worth of Foreshadowing; without it, most of their development teeters back and forth between Diabolus ex Machina, Shocking Swerve and Ass Pull.

Edit: Someone tell me this is for realsies.

So I just rolled Achilles after my eighth ticket on the Okita banner.

I'm not sure whether to be happy or mad, given how badly I want NP 2 Okita. But I'm also torn over saving for the summer Servants and Chokita.

Common error to watch Fate/Zero because it's a prequel.

Speaking of the original VN, here's a song that doesn't seem to get much love nowadays:

It'd be cool if this was Muramasa's NP theme.

I think the world has had enough EMIYA remixes.

It's notveven that good of a song in the first place.

Yeah, people like EMIYA less because it's a banger and more because it tends to coincide with all of Archer's and Shirou's big moments.

Sword of Promised Victory and all of its remixes are far more interesting pieces, as is stuff like Mighty Wind, Magus Killer, and The Lancer.

Emiya is paced out very well throughout the VN

I can see why on its own, it’s not the most accomplished composition

But it is irreplaceable due to evoking strong emotional connections to the scenes it stars

The first time you hear Emiya is during the climax of Fate route: Shirou against Kotomine, Saber against Gilgamesh. It starts exactly when Shirou is able to free himself against All Evils of the World and rush down Kotomine with the Azoth dagger; Saber successfully ruses Gil with Avalon and strikes him down

Had me chilled to the bone when it happened
