I definitely am anticipating next week's ep. If you thought ep 15 destroyed the internet, episode 17 is gonna rip the internet asunder.

I like how episode 16 completely spits in the face of Protagonist-Centered Morality; thought Subaru's actions in the previous episodes were just gonna be forgotten by people simply because he's gone through hard times?

The ways Crusch and Priscilla called Subaru out this episode was really good for that. Even the way Anastasia took advantage of Subaru's desperation was great.

Next epsiode The White Whale makes it's first appearance. And Oh boy, its ability is where the series really starts to have shit hit the fan.

Anyone else other then me think's that Tappei Nagatsuki is gonna be the next Hideaki Anno in terms of popular Writer's/ Directors in the Japanese media industry that will become very well known for ho when ripped a part a genre that desperately needed it to be by the time the first anime season ends?

He's already considered the Japanese George RR Martin anyhow, as one of the Most Sadistic people in the industry, above even Gen the Urobutcher himself..

With only Re:Zero under his belt I think it's too early to praise the entire thing to high heavens. While I agree that the show will be considered a standout for a long time to come, I doubt it'd have the same impact as, say, Madoka Magica.

If the review I read is to be believed, then Madoka will have lots of follow-the-leader shows, but never be a genre-defining classic like Evangelion. I don't read reviews from that site anymore.

The light novels just barely finished the third arc recently.

There are six arcs of over 420 chapters of the original webnovel, and its barely halfway done.

Did you expect anything but suffering where this franchise is involved?

I do hope Subaru digests what the royal candidates called him out on. Not sure if it would actually help, though. Life seems determined to screw him over.

x7 Akiyuki Shinbo is still the top director IMO, the stuff he makes is just gold and weird, including Madoka .

That episode though......

Hmm, I think this is where Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy starts to set in for me. Episode 15 left me aghast, this one didn't. If you're going to break a character, you need to rebuild them afterwards before you can do it again with the same power. Most important for me is a reason to like Subaru again.

Who's Rem? :^) Seriously, this episode is like a serious gut punch to the feels....

From the LN, I do know that the stuff they cover next ep is Subaru building back up.

Don't expect him to not suffer more after. This ain't that kind of feel good show.
