The woman was surprised Mira had heard her thanks when she gave back the written statement. This place is very weird, she thought, Everyone seems to have such acute senses.
Finishing her soup, she put her hands together over the bowl and bowed slightly, whispering another weak thank you. She pushed the bowl towards Mira and looked around the tavern. Quite a number of people for such a small town. She then stood up and walked towards the stairs leading to the rooms above.
Actually, call me Dem or Dem Kimos I hope they add a name change soon...
"My name is Yukimura Yuzuki" the woman said with a slight bow, quickly elevating herself back up "It is a pleasure to meet you Ambroos, you said your a merchant?"
SONO CHI NO SONOME!
"I will all that no, I'm merchants!" Ambroos replied to Yuzuki with a smart grin and a nod. "I offer as an accountant for his brother. Informally, as well, as a bodyguard, though I only have by my family's tacit approval." He flexed his arms and growled dramatically. He was about to make a crack, I come from a family of monsters, you see! My mother was a troll, too! But again, humor was lost in translation.
Which reminded him, he ought to be checking out everyone he saw with his fey eyes. This land was strange and dangerous, no telling when you would get jumped by a strange monster. Like now, as Ambroos spotted a pair of ears and a fluffy tail coming out of her! He yelped in excitement and jumped in the air a bit. He hadn't seen any monsters like him in ages!
"Oh! Oh! You are..." He wasn't going to fuck this one up! He picked up the pace a bit and wiggled a finger at the top of his head for a moment, where his own fox ears would be. "You are a creature, similar to me! I feel good about that, because I feel alone at a lot of times in my life!"
…A creature?
Unknown to Ambroos, someone had been listening to his conversation with the kitsune. Namely, the biwa player that the changeling walked past, who had stopped playing his song after Yuzuki mentioned the term “Merchant.” And while he quickly figured that Ambroos wasn’t working for Takahashi, this latest bit of information had caught his interest.
That could explain why he’s so large, Hikaru thought. Is he some sort of oni? I’m sure most are at least more articulate than that, but then again, he mentioned he came far away from here.
He let out a sigh. Either way, if he and his brother truly are merchants, they may end up running into him at some point. Might as well keep track of them…

Tarou looks up and over at Yamada as he speaks. "In...a manner of speaking." he answers before reaching into the his robes and pulling out a small flask. "Are you out here for a similar reason?"

"Something to that extent, yes. Never really been one for crowds of strangers," Yamada says, looking out to the steadily soaking village.

Yuzuki began to dance around her self when Ambroos spoke, trying to get a good look behind herself to see if her tail was exposed. "Wait wha, how did you", she replied not really pausing her movements.

"I've known a hundred men with your mindset over the years," says Yamada, holding up a hand to decline the offer graciously, "And dug half as many graves for the one's that couldn't back up their bravado." Yamada eyes Rentarou seriously for a moment.
"You seem like the former type."

"I already told you of the fair folk I!" Ambroos said with a smile. "Even when fairy leave a person, at least is fluent in magical deception. You would wipe the window as I destroy the strongest fantasy." He tilted his head towards her. He might not be able to make jokes, but maybe he could try for flirtation! Ambroos put up his most smouldering gaze and declared, "Without obstruction I was replacing my own beauty to see the beauty of the world around me."
Sonome Tavern
Sasuke smirks toward Kotone, lightly patting her on the back, "Bit too strong?"He then stretches feeling rather tired, "Still got an available room up there?"
Nairube's Home
Kotone grins, almost skipping backwards out of the house ahead of Nairube, "I have a good feeling about this one, Ube, I think you're gonna finally snag the big one." If I have to say anything about it at least... "I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."

Mira takes the money and paper, before waving to Suitsuki as she climbs the stairs.
"Well, surprisingly after the influx of new tenants, we do~" She says to Sasuke. "Just pay me and sign the thing like the others did."

The rain poured heavier for one last time before it grew weaker and eventually stopped. The dark clouds that covered the village drifted lazily away, bored of the wet town.
A woman in a white kimono sat on the edge of her bed, looking wistfully outside the window. In past times, she could always look out and see the sun and the warmth it brought. Now, however, she only saw it through the filter of a window. The woman was not quite normal. For one, their were ears on top of her head and second, a tail drooped from behind her. Her name was Suitsuki Tsugi.
Having nothing to do, she threw herself onto the bed, bouncing a little as she did so. ''I should have brought something with me to this village," she grumbled and sighed in boredom.

"I'm fine, what are you talking about?" asks Koneko, somewhat indignantly. It seems her small size outweighs her spiritual nature, and a rose tint has come to her small cheeks.

Yamada smirks, "I suppose I'll have to take your word for it. Unless you've a mind to prove it." The offer is meant as something friendly, though Yamada's tone is still somewhat neutral.

"Well, we can only hope can't we?" he says, tossing a piece of salted fish over his shoulder in the hopes that Kotone will catch it. Outside the sun is shining brightly and a stiff breeze comes in from over the sea.
Sonome Tavern
Sasuke ruffles Koneko's hair, smiling "Sure you are, kitten."Sasuke smirks and takes the piece of paper, teasing, "Lucky me! I've gotten a bit tired of sleeping in stables."
As he heads upstairs, he slides the bottle of sake over to Koneko, and dumps a pile of gold coin on the bar, "That should cover everyone, I think."
He heads upstairs, and ducks into a room at random, he shrugs as he sees it's filled with samurai gear, and climbs in the bed anyway.
Chikiyumi Village - Shore
Kotone lunges for the fish, snagging it with their hands. It's gone within a few instants, "Thanks young one! Taking a moment to down the shot, he returns it and the sake to the pocket in his robe. With calm determination, he grabs the hilt of his blade, pulling it from his sheathe before pointing it at Yamada. "I pray you know what you are asking, friend." he says, smirking just a little bit.

Yamada stands slowly. Calmly, even, and looks over to Rentarou. He might notice a pressure coming from him, and his own blade comes unsheathed.
"Don't mistake me for a wanderer, friend," he says with a smirk. He steps out from under the awning and away from the tavern, letting his sword rest on his shoulder as he does.
"I would prefer we each keep our limbs, but by all means don't hold back. It's less fun that way," he finishes, stopping a good distance away and showing no signs of turning to face his temporary foe. He seems to be giving Rentarou the first strike.
Tavern Interior
Koneko takes the bottle with a sly smile and attempts to hide it from Mira's gaze, pouring a little into her bowl.
Chikiyumi Village
Nairube does not enter the water, but instead starts pushing a small boat out to the water.
"Of course, but I'm only a man. If this is going to be a legendary catch I'll need every handicap I can get," he says with a small smile.

A chill runs down Ren's spine as he gets up from the stool with his small drink and goes over towards the door to look outside of the tavern at what is going on. A disapproving look at seeing the conflict about to start but he wasn't going to intervene directly.
Mana who was sitting besides Koneko looks over to Ren getting up and frowns. "Hey whats-..." Seeing him look outside, she does go over to see what he is looking at.

"Some of them very well may be, my dear brother! More dangerous are simply the ones who eat humans!" Ambroos let forth a hearty laugh and gave Hans the thumbs up, then turned back to Yukimura. "This is my cousin, Hans. Don't worry, he recognizes the world hidden behind the worldly, very friendly!

Waving groggily to Yukimura, Hans slurred "Well met! I eagerly look forward to us getting to know each other."
Turning to Ambroos again, Hans asked "How are our Rum rations? I my skin is running empty and I'd like to have it stay full for the duration of our stay in this place"

Yamada observes, sitting against the wall of the tavern, for just a few moments before speaking.
"Too many souls for you?" he asks blandly. If he senses anything odd about Rentarou, he doesn't voice it.
Tavern Interior
Koneko at first seems somewhat dejected at Mira's denial of her beverage. Though she acts silly, she understands that her appearance makes her seem incredibly young, so she isn't too hurt about it. When Sasuke offers her some of his own she beams at him and drains it, immediately getting hit with the burn and shaking her head quickly.
Chikiyumi Village
Nairube's Home
"I haven't, but that can wait till we get out there, can't it?" the older looking gentleman says as he works his way to his feet and begins gathering supplies. When he is finished, he will head toward the door, grabbing a couple of pieces of salted fish on the way.
