Firing a firearm into someone's face is a good strategy for human bosses that start off just standing there while waiting for you to approach. Also a good way to blow off steam for some of the more difficult bosses.
I just try to imagine what exactly Nobunaga and Tokichiro are thinking watching Hide fire a cannon right in Yasuke's face while Yasuke just takes it.
Tokichiro: ...So you're actually okay with this?
Nobunaga: Eh, in my domain the rules for duels are that there are no rules. Yasuke knows the score.
Yasuke: ...Meh, still better than slavery.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI want you to remember what you wrote as Nobunaga's reaction to Hide's "open the fight by shooting someone in the head," because a certain submission will probably be a lot funnier with that in mind.
Alright, I lost count of how many times I fought Yasuke, but I finally got both his Spirit Storm and the Smithing Text for the Starcutter Sword. I got the Obsidian Set and Gozutenno's Axe Smithing Texts earlier, so that's all of the stuff I wanted from Yasuke.
I'm thinking maybe I'll hold off on farming Brothers' Blades until I get all of the Kodamas from this region.
Disgusted, but not surprisedYeah, sometimes the droprate feels too low. Word of warning, though, there's a few sets where the smithing text is a reward for clearing in Way of the Strong instead.
Avatar SourceIt'll be a while before I can wear the Obsidian Set anyway — it apparently takes at least 85 Stamina to get the encumbrance % down to Green. I'll get there eventually, but not for a while.
For now I guess I'll stick with the Demon Horde Set — my Stamina is high enough already that encumbrance is Green.
Disgusted, but not surprisedMore to stop you from trying to farm Nobunaga's set; you get that another way. At least the second one, I remember that for certain.

Avatar SourceFigures if anyone in this game had more than one set associated with them it'd be Nobunaga.
He's extra like that.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAnd because Nioh 1 showed a different armour set.
Avatar SourceAlso, kind of disappointed that I can't get the First Samurai set on the PC version. It looks pretty cool.
Disgusted, but not surprisedOof, hit a bit of a wall with the sub-mission pitting me against Saito Toshimitsu (the guy who uses magic and an odachi). Yasuke and Honda Tadakatsu were pushovers compared to him.
Still, I eventually beat him and the other submissions available so far. I can finally get back to the main missions.
Disgusted, but not surprisedToshimitsu was a major wall for me as well. Glad to hear that you got past him.
Also, you probably know this already, but some side missions have different ways to end. Completing those side missions a certain way is needed to fully unlock some of the character profiles.
The Online Missions (Chinese Bellflower is one of them) are technically unnecessary; they don't contribute to any sort of completion percentage IIRC and they're usually harder than the rest of their area, sometimes significantly.
Thank god they nerfed Toshimitsu.
Avatar SourceToshimitsu is bad enough on the Base difficulty, but from Dream of the Demon onwards, he's fucking vicious.
Watch SymphogearAre you talking about that one mission where you have to side with one guy over the other?
Guess I need to replay that one then. I went with the third option of siding with neither of them.
Disgusted, but not surprisedYes. You havbe to side with both of them one at a time to unlock certain side quests later on.
Watch SymphogearThere's that, but there are a few others as well. Some of them you'll be able to identify because the mission end text will have a character wondering if there was more going on than they realized.
Guess I'll hold off on main missions for a bit longer to replay stuff.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm currently in the middle of the last mision in the second region. Was that elevator section a bit confusing to anyone else?
A little bit. Took me a little while to realize I had to get off on the second highest floor to progress. Though you want to explore every floor to get all the loot, including a Kodama.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAlright, finished Bird in the Cage. Dodging the cannons wasn't fun, but firing them at watchtowers? That was pretty cathartic.
Also, I shot Oda Nobunaga in the face.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI don't think you actually have to stay in the field of fire of the cannons, basically all of them have paths that go round it.
Avatar SourceI love how chill he is about taking an arrow/bullet/cannonball to the face.
I'll probably get back to playing Nioh 2 some time soon; I had finished the first few levels of Dream of the Wise, but then Monster Hunter: Rise came out and I've mostly been playing that game.

Gyuki sucks. It's the first boss where I had to summon an actual player.
On a more positive note, the Odachi feels a lot better now that I've got Moonlit Snow and Moonlit Snow Redux. Those two moves are pretty amazing.
Disgusted, but not surprised
I was wondering why there's a Dark Realm that isn't actually in the way of the path to the boss.
Edit:
On a side note, it's kind of hilarious cheesing Yasuke by starting out the duel by firing my Hand Cannon right into his face and stabbing him while he's down. All while Nobunaga and Tokichiro are watching.
