Just a teaser at the moment. But creating the thread just in case.

From Otherside Studios The guys who did the kickstarter for Underworld Ascendant. The team itself is made up of Ex Looking Glass Devs who've worked on the System Shock series.

Didn't Night Dive acquire the rights to System Shock recently? They're already developing a remake for the first one.

That's the part that's confusing people. Right now we have little to go on.

Otherside has released a countdown and the font looks very similar to the teaser above.

EDIT: Ok i think i know what happened. The teaser in the OP was found by someone cheating the countdown that was posted in this post. (The NEOGAF OP Gave credit to someone on another sire ( but didn't link it))

It may just be System Shock 2 Remastered.

So you're saying the link in the OP is a hoax? Because the link in the OP leads to a page that very clearly says Shock 3.

It's a little weird that the only company listed in the copyright isn't the company that owns the rights to the series.

System Shock 3 confirmed.

Said confirmation being entirely based on the pictures linked above.

But having looked up this other studio (they're tiny), I think I'll withdraw some of my optimism pending a statement from Night Dive (the ones who hold the IP).

Er, the developer is founded by System Shock's creator.

And they don't own the rights. Night Dive Studios does.

Until Night Dive says something nothing can be confirmed, for all we know the S from the actual teaser by Otherside could be Saxophone Simulator 3000.

I mean, Night Dive has mentioned that they aren't quite equipped to make a new game from scratch.

It's not their core business. They don't have the staff or resources.

The idea of them working with a third-party to outsource development on a new installment would make sense.

But they own the System Shock IP, and the brand, and the name. They own SHODAN.

And the fact that Night Dive aren't listed in the copyright on that page. Worries me. Worries me a lot, actually.

For the most part Night Dive specializes in making old games work on newer PC hardware, getting the rights to those games and putting them up on digital distribution things.

Like, a lot of their "work" for the GOG and Steam editions of System Shock 2 comes from Fan Patches.

They worked with the community a lot for System Shock Enhanced.

And the upcoming System Shock Remake is being made in Unity.

I'm not saying that they don't have any talent, but. Making games wholesale from scratch isn't exactly a thing they've done. Ever.

But still. Again. They own the rights. I don't know many other ways to say that.

...I don't think she's a union voice actor, but.

The countdowns been progressing over the past few days. They've even incorporated the hack into it by adding SHODAN like phrases ("Your interference was a part of my Design""You pathectic creature of meat and bone." etc)

Well it ends today so we'll hopefully finally know whats going on.

Well, it's been sixteen years, and the heart does tend to wander...

I wonder if that's going to be her new look.

Anyway, the page does have Night Dive's name on it (and I checked to confirm that they are indeed a LLC), but still no word on their side yet.

Edit: Filled out the survey they created. The only question of any significance was asking about VR interest (I put the lowest rating, because I'm not honestly a fan of the idea). The rest is just getting my info.

SS 2 is one of my all time favorite games, so I'm eager to see how this one fares.
