Miss Seiga told me to leave the pesky intruder alone, to avoid drawing attention to ourselves. So...with caution...I withdrew my magic, letting the oversized rodent be on her way.
It took a few moments more for her to recompose herself, rather ashamed of her shame, as though it weren't a natural reaction to being caught in the middle of an intimate act by a complete stranger.
"I thought you looked cute," I muttered half to her and half to myself, unsure whether to say it more directly out of uncertainty on whether it would help.
But to the point...
"What kind of friends?" I asked, intrigued and beaming at the idea of getting to know more friends of hers, more people to turn to, leaning in closer as if that would let me find out sooner.

Arcade watched the rest of the bickering feeling a little overwhelmed. What was there for him to even add? He'd made his position clear and then Marcus was telling Eve about some kind of ritual.
He did wonder what the hell happened to get Ben so pissed off at everything. That train of thought was derailed when Kelsey was knocked out and Marcus jumped closer to the door. With a start, Arcade pulled his gun, keeping it lowered but still ready to get Marcus's attention if he tried to attack anyone innocent.

Upgrade glared at Marcus as he leapt over their heads, and Upgrade squished down, then stretched his body out to try and leap up and snatch Marcus out of the air using his stretchy body. He would then attempt to merge with Marcus' armor and weapon again to immobilize him, as well as possibly try to disable his chainsword and gun.
"I said, be patient! We'll get Kelsey out. You know she's in there now. Someone go check on her and bring her out here. Just don't let anyone else get hurt!" Upgrade insisted, trying to hold Marcus down as best he could.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
As Kelsey was being escorted out, Plague Knight went to the front door first and went outside briefly. "Hold your weapons, Kelsey will be out short - " he began to call out, before the suddenly screaming and phaser fire ran out. The alchemist immediately ran back inside, finding the woman in question unconscious on the floor with her hand mangled.
"REX, YOU COLOSSAL DIM-WITTED, IGNORAMUS, SON OF A BRAIN DAMAGED ASS!!" the knight yelled at the teen completely unsympathetically, more concerned with the Khorn worshipper. He pulled out a healing potion first and gently guided the healing fluid into her mouth, hoping fixing some of the damage in her hand. And then he pulled out a bit of those smelling salts he made the day previously and carefully waved it under the woman's nose.
If it worked, Kelsey's nose would be assaulted by a powerful sulphurous smell that would sting the back of it and had hints of rotting pig flesh and manure mixed in. The knight was also ready to jump backwards to avoid any attacks the woman would make upon waking up.

As soon as Lu introduced herself as a 'demon lord', Seirwuosuhr let out a frightened yelp and scrambled away from Lu, quickly moving over to Miss Tairee to hide behind her legs. "See?" Tommy asked, very perplexed by this. "Is what she is scary? She doesn't look scary" the young boy continued, looking back at Lu and scrunching his face a bit as he thought as deeply as a toddler could.
"... At church, they say demons are bad things. But you don't look bad. Are you bad?" Tommy asked Lu.
"Children please, calm down. You know I won't let anyone fight in here" the Miss Tairee there said gently, as Seirwuosuhr leaned over slightly to peek around the librarian's legs at Lu.
Meanwhile, the Miss Tairee Cole was speaking to looked surprised when he hugged her, then smiled and hugged him back. "We can read whatever story you want to read, Cole" Miss Tairee said after the hug was let go, then watched as he left. Once he was gone out of the library, she looked back at the central desks with a slight frown. She promptly marched over and sat down to start typing on the computer, still frowning ever so slightly.

9S then stopped. In a way, humans were xenophobic- the aliens and the machine lifeforms were the reason YoRHa was born. Although, it would be rather wrong to call humans xenophobic, regardless, he thought to himself. after all, the aliens attacked first- so why are they calling humans xenophobic?
Then the fact that there were other humans who weren't under terror by alien invasion were also in the city. 9S felt foolish, spouting out a remark that didn't make sense. He cleared his throat, saying, "Anyway, thanks for the information. This is going to be useful.''

The little confrontation with Kelsey ended as well as expected: She was disarmed—almost in both senses of the word—and knocked out by the militia. Rex was still a little dizzy and tired after getting shot himself twice in the chest but slightly blurry vision wasn't something he wasn't used to. Chise, meanwhile, wondered just what the hell Rex was thinking of while pulling that stunt. That made two of them.
"I'm not sure"
Elias wasn't sure what to do now since Kelsey was knocked out and in no condition to fight.
"Well, teleporting everyone out of here is still on the table but I guess I gotta improvise"
Plague Knight much like Chise was shocked by Rex's attitude and started insulting him, apparently being genuinely worried about Kelsey's well-being. Rex didn't answer back because, yeah, this was getting more and more difficult to justify. But being part of an execution carried out by a massive blue hypocrite and one of the biggest threats in the city wasn't an option either. If only everything played out correctly... which speaking of, right now the last thing Kelsey needed was waking up.
"No! I need her knocked out" Rex said, lifting Kelsey away from Plague Knight before he could put the smelling salts near her nose.
Oh and the ticking clock got closer to the hospital now, great. For someone that claimed to be unwilling to harm innocent people, Marcus sure seemed determined to be a threat.
"I'm running on five hours of sleep and a bucket of popcorn so if you want Kelsey so badly, back off and give me some room!"

Ciri - Outside the Hospital
"With the strength of eight men behind each swing, the question isn't if you can harm him with your axe," Ciri replied to Yoshika. "The matter at hand is how many blows it can sustain before you splinter it. The librarian did not seem to have the finest materials and methods available to her."She looked curiously at the knight, who seemed to prefer flying around rather than making any sort of attack.
"For now, stay close to me. This is not our fight, but if it concerns our allies we may be needed. If it seems as though you are in danger, I can take us elsewhere. In the event one of us is killed, make sure to regroup at the library."
"Y-you know, *urp* , have- have any of us considered just - just leaving or something?" asked Rick to the assembled group. "I mean - I'm pretty sure - it's debated by the *urp* paleontological community but dinosaurs are probably attracted to t-t-the the smell of the weak, sick, dying, the kind of smells you get in shitty jungle hospitals filled with malaria and shit... and I'm not really interested in proving them right." Roger blinked and stared blearily up at the hospital tree as the sounds of chaos and violence and death intensified.
"Oh jeez. I mean - oh." Morty turned white and tried to ignore those same sounds. "Guess - guess it's probably a good thing that I didn't go in there, huh?"
"You really dodged a bullet, yeah, Morty." Rick reached down and playfully tousled his grandson's hair.

Brother Marcus landed right in front of the doorway heavily as Upgrade merged into his armor; immediately this time, Upgrade could feel the presence of the suit's machine spirit trying to force him out. It remembered this foul xenos incursion, and it was no less angered by it this time than it was the first time.
Upgrade's attempt to interfere was making the space marine's movements sluggish, but just like before, it was not stopping him, as he could still overpower the suit. The chainsword, Upgrade would quickly find, was already non-functional- though that didn't stop its own machine spirit from being equally infuriated with his arrival. The bolt pistol was still in operation, but trying to sabotage it was not going anywhere just yet, especially not with his focus split on also trying to stop Brother Marcus from moving.
"Were you not listening, stupid boy? I do not intend to harm any more people than necessary; your tricks are only making it harder for me to do as you're asking!" Brother Marcus told Ben. Well, at least with his movements sluggish, he wasn't going to actually enter the room any time soon. He didn't even seem to be trying to, just leaning forward instead of actually trying to walk-
The jump pack flared again, sending Brother Marcus straight through the door and into the room, nearly decking Chise flat out as he came in and couldn't quite bring himself to a proper stop due to Upgrade's influence.
In the time right up to that, Plague Knight's potion had seemingly mended Kelsey's hand, but Rex yanked her up out of reach before the smelling salts even had a chance to take effect. "What are you idiots doing?! If we're giving her up then just give her the fuck up to the damned space marine already!" Phillip yelled at the two.
It was then that Brother Marcus came into the room and halted on the floor not far from Rex. "GIVE ME THE HERETIC, NOW!" Brother Marcus yelled at them.
"Sure thing" was the only warning Rex got before Dave, who had just walked up to the Evo from another angle, socked the goggled teen square in the side of the head with his troll strength. Dave then tried to take a hold of the unconscious Kelsey, and if able would then just throw her bodily at the space marine.
"Is that, Ben?" Thomas asked, somewhat confused as he pointed his wand at the space marine. Louie tossed a couple of his pokeballs right in front of himself, bringing forth Ace the blaziken and Pecha the trapinch.
"Nah, it's got the voice of the mean guy! Let's get him!" Louie said.
"Stop! That is Ben! He merged into the armor!" Silanea yelled from the doorway.
"Let me through, lady!" Fastanook complained from just behind Silanea, as he tried to make his way around her coiling tail to get into the room.

So, the hospital had descended into an utter clusterfuck. Arcade wasn't sure what he expected, but he was still disappointed in almost everyone. He was glad Dave was trying to get Kelsey out and decided to just let him handle that. Clearly he was strong enough to get right in the middle of things.

Before I knew it, Marcus rushed inside, almost running me over as he made his entrance. I could see a expression of fear in Elias' face, it was clear that both of us had our heart stop at this moment. I was so shocked I could barely move, but I made sure to stay out of Marcus' way while looking at what the others were doing.
Elias looked relieved that I was still in one piece, but he soon directed his attention to Rex, who had just been punched away by the head doctor to make him let go of the unconscious woman. I saw him sink into the shadows and saw him heading towards Rex, merging with the teen's shadow and then I could see him trying to take control of him through it, the shadow working his way through his body to the point one could see his neck turn into a pitch-black color and even some of his face was starting to become affected.
If this was anything like last time, then he was probably trying to use it to restrain Rex so he wouldn't do anything else, using the stagger from the punch to give him a better chance of controlling him. I wondered if Rex would be able to resist it, however, seeing as he was much more strong-willed than I was.

Kamina was able to move him and Simon out of the way of the marine's jump pack pounce. It took both of them a bit to get their bearings together but by then Marcus was inside. Damn it! Kamina had to stop him! From what Rex told him Marcus WAS doing some kind of stupid crap and the mighty Kamina couldn't just let that happen lying down!
Kamina and Simon both got up and Kamina was ready to charge in but Simon grabbed his arm as he was doing so and Kamina looked back at Simon when he did that. Bro, we can't fight that guy. We will be squashed! We can get out of here and be safe. He doesn't feel the need to fight." said Simon to Kamina, his eyes wide and face in fear. He couldn't believe that Kamina was just going to throw himself at such a force. What could they do?
Kamina turned around and said to his bro with a calm but confidante tone "Simon, in our home we fought against guys like this. Brutes who think that they can push around everyone and set them down a path they didn't pick. Bastards that need to be taught that they can't use their power to just rough up others for their own benefit." and Kamina turned back around, back facing Simon. "Simon, believe in the me that believes in you! Your drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!"
With that said Kamina ran off into the tree. Simon was left standing there, knowing that his bro was running off into danger. He believed in Simon....and he was right. Beastman or big blue guy, Marcus was acting like a brute. If Kamina believed that fighting him was worth it, well..........he would help his big bro.
Simon ran in after Kamina, who gave him a smile and a nod as he joined side to side with him. "Simon! HIT IT!" yelled out Kamina and Simon followed his commanded, Gurren and Lagann forming around the duo with bright green flashes of light! "Now, it's time for the you-know-what!" said Kamina as Gurren lifted up Lagann and slammed the round mecha onto it's top. When Lagann and Gurren made contact in that way, a even brighter green flash of light bursted out of the two!
For a few moments the light consumed the two but then a valiant yell came out. "SUPER ULTRA COMBINATION, GURRENNN LAGANNNN!!" and that light cleared up, revealing Gurren Lagann. The powerful red mecha crossed it's arms. "Hey, hey, hey! Before you can do anything else you bastard, try beating THIS!" said Kamina to Marcus

Upgrade tried with all his might to not only immobilize Brother Marcus' suit movements, but actively fight against them. At the same time, he listened to Thomas and Louie shouting about him. Upgrade poked his head out of the suit.
"Guys, it's Ben! Hold it for a moment! Just... keep people safe!" Upgrade shouted, still trying to keep Marcus from going in. He heard two voices shouting something he didn't understand, then he looked as Simon and Kamina, the two boys who had met with him in the library, seemingly fused together to form a big robot body. Upgrade stared in awe and disbelief, before a shout caught Ben's attention. He saw a horned man toss the unconscious Kelsey towards Marcus, and Upgrade detatched from the armor to catch her.
He then turned towards Marcus. "If Kelsey goes outside with you... do you promise not to hurt anyone else here?" Upgrade finally asked.

Lu was not surprised to see the frightened See hide behind the librarian. Considering the standard demon interaction with the average human, moderate amounts of panic and fear were completely understandable. But Tommy, in the meantime, did not seem all that fazed by her, which was... slightly more unexpected, but judging by what he said he didn't really know what demons actually were. And that was not all that unusual either.
"You have nothing to worry about!" she tried to reassure the children with a wide smile. "I know we demons have a bit of a reputation, what with all the invasions and the killing and the corruption of innocent people, and other those other uncivilized practices, but I've personally always been against all that stuff. It's just unsightly."
"Hmmm... so that would be thirteen days," Ciel muttered to himself. "Thirteen days in which we are meant to interact with other people... Lu isn't going to like this. She tends to-"
Whatever the blue-haired bodyguard was going to say became lost the moment he turned to look at the demon girl and spotted her among all the children, talking and smiling as if she'd actually fit in. Once again he started to feel the urge to head there, pick all the children up in his arms and hug them to no end, specially the one that... seemed to be... very afraid of... oh no.
Oh no.
"Thank you fo your help, please excuse me," Ciel replied in a haste, picking up the tea and cups and heading straight towards Lu while he poured it.
"I mean, I'm not a saint or anything. I've had to fight myself out of some nasty stuff, and I've had to wipe blood off my hands a lot of times, but even then all the absurd, wanton murder is just-huh?"
Lu stared at the recipient that had suddenly been placed in her hand as if it was the strangest object she'd ever seen in her life. The very primitive-looking cup was full of a curious liquid, familiar enough to be recognized.
"Ooooh! My tea is here~!" she exclaimed in joy, sitting down and taking the first few sips. "Uhuhu~! That was very quick, Ciel! I'm impressed!"
"It was almost finished by the time I got it," Ciel responded with a relieved sigh. "I only tried it and added a thing or two to improve the taste."
"Hmmm... it does taste a bit strange, but I think it's acceptable," her master stated, taking another sip before she looked back towards the children. "Oh, would you like some? I wouldn't mind sharing my tea time with all of you. Ah, maybe with some cookies! Ciel can make some very delicious cookies."

Marcus entered the place and kept advancing with not even Ben being able to stop his movement that much, even coming close to hitting Chise. He then demanded Rex hand over Kelsey which wasn't gonna happen in a million years.
"What I'm going to give you i..."
Rex couldn't even finish the sentence before getting punched in the face by the head doctor. As he fell to the floor, he was still in shock over what had just happened. He didn't really think getting sucker-punched by a doctor was a possibility in this whole situation.
"Ok, now I'm pissed!"
The good news were that Kamina and Simon were there to distract Marcus for a bit while Rex recovered. And it actually seemed like they had a chance with their robot thing since it was actually bigger than Marcus.
"Whoa, those guys aren't full of—what?"
Too bad something was keeping Rex from actually getting up. As much as he pulled, he was stuck to the floor. And his nanites were spread so thin trying to repair his body that when he tried to build his sword, it simply fell apart after a few seconds.
"¡Qué mala onda!"Transl. he said, repeatedly trying—and failing—to build something.

Lu's talk was... Far from reassuring, even with the bribe of tea and cookies; Seirwuosuhr went back to completely hiding behind Miss Tairee's legs again- or at least, trying to. Tommy still looked confused, and also now a little concerned. "That all sounds like bad stuff... But you say we shouldn't worry?" Tommy muttered, trying to work it out in his head.
"M-mommy told me, the demon lords, they're not... She said they're selfish for power and hate humans" Seirwuosuhr quietly said towards Tommy from her hiding place. "She said you can't trust them..." she added.
"Please, children. It is doubtful that she is from your universe, much less the type of demon you're thinking of" Miss Tairee reminded them, then looked down at Lu. "If I may, Luciela, the details of yourself you are alluding to seem quite jarring with your current young appearance. Would you care to elaborate on my curiosity?" the librarian asked of Lu.
With his own speed, Brother Marcus was already upon Upgrade as soon as he'd turned around with Kelsey in hand; the space marine promptly made a grab for Kelsey and tried to take her away from Upgrade. "I will make no such promise, boy. Not as long as anyone here could potentially be a heretic just as her; nor would I make a promise that could be used against me to be unable to defend myself" Brother Marcus pointed out to Upgrade angrily. "Now let go of the heretic before I make you suffer punishment for attempting to obstruct the will of the Emperor!" the space marine added. Towards Kamina and Simon and their flashy transformation, Brother Marcus turned his helmet towards them briefly, then just ignored them.
"For goodness' sakes, why are you people making this so difficult? Just let the big guy take the crazy lady!" Dave insisted, stepping over the fallen Rex to now make a grab at Upgrade and yank him away from Marcus and Kelsey. "I thought you idiots were trying to make my hospital safe, not keep bitching and moaning!" the doctor added in high frustration.
"He's uh... He's kinda got a point" Nails commented, though looked pretty nervous and unsure if he should intervene yet in any way. Phillip was scowling with a slight disappointed/confused expression mixed in.
"Hey! Leave Ben alone you bullies!" Louie yelled from the sidelines.
"Louie, don't!" Thomas tried to object, putting his wand down and grabbing Louie's arm.
"Letting bad people get their way isn't our style, Tommy" Louie said to him with a bit of bitterness.
Thomas looked almost surprised for a brief moment, then scowled. "Endangering innocent people when we don't need to isn't our style either, Louis" Thomas said with an equal bitterness.
"P-p-please, we can stop this without any more fighting!" Silanea desperately tried to plead from the doorway to everyone, starting to hyperventilate a bit and looked panicked, clearly uncertain as to what to do. In particular she eyed Gurren Lagann for a moment, then Brother Marcus, then started to eye Kelsey as thoughts seemed to race through her mind sporadically.
Fastanook entered the room and moved himself behind Gurren Lagann, his eyes glancing between everyone else and, from his slightly confused and concerned expression, was still just trying to piece together what was even happening- let alone how or if he should intervene.

Eve had had about enough. This room was a mess. Rex was unconscious? or unable to move, and there was something up with his nanomachines, Ben was losing his battle with Brother Marcus' armour (there’s a rare sentence), and Thomas and Louie were arguing. She grabbed out her phone, and turning it to the City Knights channel. She shouted into both it and the room.
"ENOUGH!" She yelled. "This is achieving nothing! Brother Marcus, you said purification was possible. Again, what does that entail? Getting Kelsey onto the 'path of the Empreror', what does that require?"
Then she looked at Thomas and Louie . "You two, knock it off. Now is neither the time or place. Do it later, when we’re not in the middle of a tense situation."

I was completely useless in this situation. Things were escalating, people were yelling at each other, Kamina's appearance only made things even more complicated as it became more and more likely that a fight would break out, even though it looked like Elias was being successful in keeping Rex in place and somehow preventing him from using his powers.
Marcus didn't seem to care about Kamina's presence, so that made it clear that he wasn't the one who was going to initiate the fight. Seeing that, I decided to put myself between the two, although closer to Marcus, trying to make it so that if Kamina tried to attack him, he would risk hitting me as well. I could only hope that he cared enough about my well-being to not attack.
"Please don't get in the way and just let him go, if you start fighting here, you're going to bring the whole place down," I said to the big robot Kamina and his partner had turned into, trying to keep myself firm even though I was putting myself in a lot of risk at the moment.
Trying to hold Rex in place was working, but other people who could end up starting a conflict showed up. I made Rex's body begin standing up, as it would be much easier to get him away from a potential attack if he was standing instead of lying down, but for now I tried to keep him in place like a statue. He didn't seem to realize what was going on, so I decided to take advantage of that fact by staying silent and let him think there was just some strange force controlling him.

Arcade continued to watch the scene unfolding with an odd sense of detachment. His emotions had been so all-over the place that day that he was completely drained. That was, until Eve yelled at everyone.
Fumbling slightly with his gun, Arcade stared at her as she tried to get everyone's attention. In this situation, that was dangerous. Arcade positioned himself to be in between Eve and Marcus enough that his protection of her was clear. He silently glared Marcus as Eve spoke to him.

Upgrade glared at Brother Marcus, who predictably immediately tried to grab Kelsey as soon as Ben let go of his armor. Upgrade, who really didn't want to cause an incident in the hospital, let her go, his gelatinous form molding out of Dave's grip when Dave tried to grab hold of him. He then shot a look at Thomas and Louie silently, before looking back at Brother Marcus.
"Well what do you know? Who isn't a heretic here? I'm guessing it's 'anyone who does exactly what you say'. You're such a brat. So you got what you wanted. So just... go. Now. You wanna prove your good will? Get far away from the hospital, and get far away from us. And don't come back unless you want to play nice! You want to do some good in the City? Then do it and stop acting like a jerk to everyone you meet!" Upgrade stood his ground angrily, looking up at Brother Marcus.

Plague Knight nearly spilled the smelling as Rex yanked Kelsey away, the alchemist grabbing the container in midair after it flipped through the air bit. Only a few of the crystals fell to the ground, most of the concoction thankfully still in the cup. He pocketed it in time to jump out of the way as Marcus literally shot through the door into the building. He got back up to see that Ben has transformed into that strange slime like creature from the first day and melded with Marcus's suit in effort to restrain him while a massive robot, almost equaling in size to Tinker Knight's own Tinker Tank, stood in the room as well.
Ben unmelded when someone literally tossed Kelsey towards Marcus, the young hero catching her for the Space Marine. Luckily something managed to restrain Rex before he could make the situation even worse.
There was still all the arguing that broke out, and Plague Knight pulled out a bomb just in case. Then Eve suddenly yelled out. Hopefully the sound of a young girl asking everyone for silence would be enough to quell the tension. Still, he moved besides Arcade, ready to protect the girl if needed. His attention then turned to Rex who was still struggling.
"Please, for our sakes and your dignity, just stop," the alchemist flat out told the Evo.

"I'm not stopping any time soon" Rex told Plague Knight, still struggling to get up from the floor. Surprisingly, he was able to do so with little effort after a bit... Only to be forced to walk away from the scene by some mysterious "Wh-what's happening? Who is doing this?" Rex's powers still weren't working and he just futilely tried to fight back against whatever was keeping him in place.
With Chise and Silanea joining the not-quite battle, things were starting look grim. Again. Rex would have punched Marcus in the face right then and there... if it weren't for him noticing just how tired he was.
It was getting hard to concentrate on... anything, really.
"Is it just me or are things starting to get a little... blurry?" Rex said to no one in particular, putting a hand on his forehead and not looking particularly lucid.
"So... uh... sh-should we intervene? Or something?" asked Morty. "I mean it - it sounds... oh jeez, Rick, it sounds like something horrible's going on up there." Morty winced at the sound of more fighting and screaming inside.
"Nah." Rick leaned back in Roger's saddle for a moment before something caught his eye. "H-here- I learned this a few years ago..." Rick stepped off and plucked a heavy seedpod off a nearby tree and a large, flat rock. After fiddling with his laser gun for a few seconds, producing a low but steady beam of heat that started roasting the nuts within. Morty hesitantly grabbed one of the treats between two fingers before popping it into his mouth.
"Good, huh?" Morty nodded assent. "When you've been *urp* stranded in dimensions where people eat solid *urp* where people eat solid metal, Morty, you pick up a few tricks."
Roger grunted to himself as his mighty digestive tract kicked into high gear, drowsing in the hot sun and ignoring the ruckus a few yards away.

Though, Lewis seemed more interested in it than she did. Seiga cleared up enough of her residual embarrassment to look him in the eye once again, as he silently asked what should be done with it. She considered it for a moment, looking in the direction it walked off in, and said "Oh, let it go. It's doing us no harm as is, and the less we stand out, the better."
Shaking her head, the hermit said "I'm sorry, Lewis. That was unbecoming of me. But...let's try and move past it, yes?" She looked back at Ghostfreak and rhetorically asked him "Yes, Mr. Z'Skayr? Yes, of course."
"Now, then. We have one more thing to do, Lewis, and then we can try and help rescue this city ourselves. It's simple...I just want you to meet some very helpful friends of mine."
