Rean flinched a bit at Caboose casually talking about getting beheaded yesterday.
"Yeah, uh...things are a bit strange here. Two’s doing fine, though." A certain level of fine, but fine nonetheless.
Just then, a young girl’s voice came out of Rean’s tablet. "We’re back!~"
Rean quickly took the tablet out from under its spot tucked under his arm, just as a blue haired girl.png){kind=small}
◊ came into view. Following behind her was a tall dark-skinned boy,.png){kind=small}
◊ and Alisa.
"Speaking of calling people...Everyone, meet Millium and Gaius." Rean said, holding up the tablet.
"Nice to meet you all." Gaius said.
Millium, meanwhile leaned closer to the ‘screen.’ "Jeez, Rean, when I said you found some girl from another world to hang out with, I didn’t mean ones that are still in another world." she said, a smug smile on her face. "That blonde girl’s got a nice outfit though!"
Rean quickly took his hand out of Two’s to hold the other side of the tablet. (or maybe it was more than that?)
"Those are Two’s sisters and they’re all accounted for. I think. And Two and I are just friends."
They all had companions like Two had Cent, right? And if their relationship was anything like those two’s there was no need for anyone else.
"My what?... oh yeah, no" It was a small miracle that Makoto asked about the challenge because Rex was struggling with casually bringing it up "I wanted to talk about that, actually"
Now, how to explain that he had lied? In any other circumstance, Rex would have probably gone ahead with it regardless of how it negatively affected him but with both of them involved in this, the only way to solve it was with a heart-to-heart.
"I think—the thing is I may have changed my mind but I-I obviously want to hear what you think first" he took a deep breath "Ok, just... if I accepted, would you be okay with it?"

Two, Library
"Your friends? That sounds nice." Truly, Three didn't even pay attention to anything else - nor anyone else - but Caboose at the moment, idly playing with her 'boose doll. She acknowledged the presence of new people on Rean's side with a brief hum before going back to the ex-Blue. "Do they wear armors like you too? Are they like you, actually? Tell me more about the beheading too. Or is that just the city thing?"
"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you~" Five's enthusiasm was unwavering, it seemed, much to Dito's groaning displeasure. "I'm glad you like it, cutie. It's not a proper outfit if it doesn't highlight the goods, no?" The blonde giggled, which did things to her chest. "Oh, and you needn't worry about such silly things with me. Dito" Here she pulled the unwilling Disciple more into view. "might be my favorite, but the spot for seconds and thirds is very fluid~"
"Leggo already, you crazy-"
"Isn't he adorable?~"
"It's nice to meet you, Millium, Gaius." Two greeted Rean's friends with a smile and a wave. "Rean's just a friend, don't worry."
"It's nice to meet you indeed." Cent, meanwhile, greeted the two from the other screen. It seemed he wasn't much concerned about neither the handholding nor Millium's smug comment. "Though I'm not Lady Two's sister myself, I am quite close to her, if I may say so."
"Ehehe, he's the closest, I'd say." The bluenette giggled sheepishly, growing red again. "This is Five and this is Three. One and Four left a moment ago, but I hope they'll come back soon enough. Um, and thank you for being there for Rean. He's a good friend, so I'm happy that he has good friends on the other side too. Although..." Here she looked at Millium with minor confusion. "I thought you're his classmates, but you look quite younger than him or Alisa or Gaius...?

"Yeah I'm up for some good right now." He then said as he started moving away from the library in search of somewhere to eat.

Cole looked thoughtful again, but reached up to take hold of Arcade's hand, looking towards the tablet again, before pulling at his arm again, almost looking and sounding a bit frantic. "...Grandma Daisy, are there any more funny stories about when Arcade was young?"

For the Horde!
Ben followed Hercules and started to look around for a place where he could eat. He turned back towards Cole and snickered a little bit when Cole asked about funny stories.
"Oh, this'll be good," Ben laughed, looking up at the doctor impishly. All the while he continued to look around for a good place.
There were so many dance clubs and bars and roller rinks and the like that it was difficult finding a good place to actually eat. There had to be a good restaurant or something, right?
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
Library Lobby
"Oh, so...you wanted to try it?" Makoto asked. Had he wanted to try and ensure they met again? It was flattering, but also made her nervous about the logistics of making it work once their worlds were connected. "I...I'd be okay if you really wanted to. I'd try as hard as I could to see you again once things are settled at home, but I'd still rather be the one to give something up, not you. It's only fair since I asked."
Arcade— still not the best at reading people— seemed oblivious to Cole's mental state. He rolled his eyes at Ben's impish grin and groaned slightly. "I can't believe no one informed me that today is officially 'embarrass the hell out of Arcade until he drops dead from sheer humiliation' day."
Daisy, however, squinted her eyes thoughtfully at Cole. "Is something wrong, sweetie?" she asked, "you seem upset about something."
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."
Rex set Doug on the floor, taking his time before standing up again and conveniently creating some distance between himself and Makoto. He needed some before telling her everything he had in mind.
"I talked with one of their assistants and this is the only way we'll ever see each other again. There's nothing we can do about it from our universes" the truth was on the table now, and it felt strangely freeing to finally share it. Maybe despite all the setbacks, this could actually work. "But i-it's not completely awful, it wouldn't be a full reboot. I would still be me! And I wouldn't remember the bad stuff. I wouldn't remember kissing the shapeshifter. I wouldn't remember that Anat tried to kill me or that you think I should lift more... I wouldn't remember that I'm terrified right now"
Once she explained she would be more comfortable being the one sacrificing something, Rex simply answered by hugging her. That just couldn't be an option.
"No, no, please! He threatened to take away your memories instead. I can't ask you that"

Cole looked away at Daisy's question, eyes darting around slightly, biting his lip. "I...I-I think maybe I'd like to go back to the library, b-but I can take the tablet and you can go get breakfast if you like, Arcade! I-I'm not hungry just yet, but...but I could get something later...I promise I really would!"
Library Lobby
Oh, so it was...impossible for them to meet without cutting a deal. This was their only option. He had to lose his memories or give up.
"Rex..." she said, before he tried to convince her that it was fine. Did he really want to forget those things so badly? Did they hurt him that much? She didn't want to cause him pain. Maybe...it would be kinder to him. The next part shocked her enough to not react as Rex hugged her. She hugged him back, hiding her face in his jacket as she thought. That was another option, taking away her memories instead. A part of her didn't like that either, but wouldn't that be much easier to handle?
"...I'd do it for you," she mumbled, before looking up at him. "I'm sorry that...I made you upset, but...I don't want you to have to forget everything either. I think you could convince me to be with you again, if we have to start over. I-I think I'd still love you, even if it took longer."
Something cracked inside Rex once Makoto answered she would be willing to give up her own memories if it meant Rex wouldn't have to go through that again for their sake. She was also under the impression she had actually upset him with her past actions.
"No no, you didn't do anything wrong. I was just joking. You are amazing"
His voice cracked while saying the last word, and he couldn't take it anymore. The tears he had been holding back for a solid minute came rushing down as he hugged Makoto tighter. Maybe he could explain it away as dust or... whatever. That wasn't important.
"You said I was your first and I don't want you to forget that. You deserve to be loved. And to know that you are not a mess"
THE SLORG!
It was mainly bars and nightclubs around, but there was a 'bar and grill' not far away down one street, and down an other way was the arcade; it seemed that for the day the arcade had been greatly expanded and was now a combination arcade, dance club, and diner.
With Makoto and Rex seeming to be done, Valentina turned to the mirror and gave one more quick bow as her hand glowed and the mirror's surface rippled, before the whole mirror blurred and vanished.
"Well, you seem to be in some trouble" Valentina then commented, speaking towards Sir Tristen as the whole party began to turn to leave.
"Why would the king give that command to me when you were the one who led the attack on their village?" Sir Tristen asked as he followed.
"Exactly" Valentina responded simply.
Silanea watched the party start to leave with a slightly confused look, before glancing to Makoto and Rex. At first the lamia was clearly feeling a bit awkward, but then a look of simple determination set over her, and she turned away. Silanea still remained there, but was now defensively watching for anyone who might approach to interrupt the conversation.

"...It'll be okay," Makoto said, recovering from Rex squeezing her harder. She pulled away from him and grabbed his hands instead. "I don't want to forget either but...it'll work out. I know it will. That... Hearing that means a lot to me though." She looked away, tearing up as well but trying a little harder to hold it back. "You said that we shouldn't spend the rest of the day sad about how it's going to end, so... let's make a decision now. It's either me or you, Rex." They had to be somewhat logical about this.
"And...and in my world I'm just a teenager that doesn't even have powers most of the time. I'm a fugitive from the law right now, so I can't stand out too much or there'll be consequences. You have a whole government organization to work with. I think you have the greater chance of finding me again than I would have at finding you. We should remove my memories." Makoto took a deep breath and let go of Rex, walking over to the suggestion box. "Um, if you're still there Developer...could you take my memories instead? Would that still work?"

Around Makoto there was the sound of a dice roll, and video game beeps, before Makoto alone saw a text box appear again.
"Your memories?" Miss Tairee #2 wondered with a look of half concern, having heard what Makoto said and knowing she got a response, but not what.

Ben raised an eyebrow, wondering what had gotten into Cole. However he also knew that it was really hard to tell what the boy was thinking, especially since he had such different kinds of thoughts than Ben did.
"Well maybe we can just spend time together," he told Cole. "Y'know? After we eat we can get back to the library and do whatever you wanna do. Maybe you wanna read some more?" he asked Cole. As he continued to walk, he kept looking around.
Ben's eyes widened when he saw how much the arcade had changed. It had expanded, to accommodate a huge and well-stocked diner.
"Hey, guys, check out the arcade! It's huge now!" Ben exclaimed, pointing the group in the direction of the place. "And it looks like it has a restaurant built in! Let's go eat there! Last one there's a rotten egg!" he laughed, starting to run over towards the entrance of the arcade.

"Wait, is something wrong?" Arcade asked, finally realizing what Daisy had picked up on immediately.
Ignoring his input, Daisy focused on Cole. "Is there something you don't want me to see, dear?" she asked, gently, "I'm not as delicate as I look, I think I'll be able to handle it."
Both Daisy and Arcade swung their heads over to Ben in confusion, though Arcade seemed to realize what was actually going on faster. Ben had already started running before he could speak up, so he instead turned back to Cole, "are you sure you'd rather not eat with us?"
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."
Rex tried to find a flaw in Makoto's reasoning—there had to be one. But she was determined to see this through and her logic was infallible, as usual. Rex was simply much more versatile than Makoto and for all the stuff he had to deal with back home, being put in jail wasn't one of his worries. It simply made more sense if he were the one responsible for making the both of them meet up after this. He said nothing as she left to discuss the details with the Developer.
But he had to.
"I'm not going to let you down, I promise! I'll go find you as soon as I can and I'll try to win you over, no matter how long it takes... you are worth it"
Library Lobby
Makoto nodded slightly at the Developer's answer. They had to both agree to it then. She glanced at Miss Tairee when she spoke up, realizing that she'd been heard. It didn't matter though, Makoto was going to go through with it.
"I want to stay with Rex, no matter the price," she said as an explanation, before turning her attention back to the suggestions box. Rex promised to find her again, and she believed in him. "We'll do it. I accept your deal."

Rean's call, which had been fairly quiet compared to Two's, suddenly got a bit louder due to the introduction of two participants. "He doesn't just hang out with girls, actually," Caboose helpfully corrected Millium. "Rean and me also are friends! And he also likes Hercules. And probably some other people!" He completely failed to acknowledge Gaius.
More important to the soldier, though, was addressing Three's questions. Not only was she interested in what he had to say, but she was even playing with the doll of him while asking! "Oh, well we all wear sort of the same armor. But there's a few different types. Mine is the oldest type and totally the best," he claimed, telling a lie that he believed. "And our colors are all different, which is how we tell each other apart. We wouldn't be called the Reds and Blues without colors."
"And I guess we are all pretty different... about as different as you and all of your sisters are," Caboose continued, his voice filled with a happiness beyond the normal cheer that permeated everything he said. The reds and blues really meant a lot to him, after all. "It would be nice to have someone a lot like me around, but I would not want to trade my teammates for that. Even Tucker. And if something happened to any of them, I would make them again." Even if his optimism about "making" his friends was based on a flawed understanding of death, the thought was a good one.
Regarding the second topic he was asked about, the soldier could give a more clear answer. "Well, it was in the city so it was a city thing," he confirmed. "It was a really long challenge, and the second part was killing Darth Vader more times than even Church died. The person to kill him the final time would get to wish for anything. So I tried fighting him and he cut my hand off which hurt a lot, and then he cut my head off. That didn't hurt as much. And then I was alive again somewhere else." He pointed at Rean for a second. "He won a few seconds later, and we wanted the same thing, so it all worked out."
Diverting his focus to Rean for a moment caused him to notice Two commenting on Millium's comparatively young age. That was a valid question, probably. And Caboose had a theory. "Is she an AI?" he asked, sounding pretty confident. "Or a robot!" This made perfect sense to him. The youngest members of the reds and blues weren't humans either, they were made!

Cole watched Ben go, then looked up at Arcade and at the tablet at Daisy again, grimacing and fidgeting a little, looking down at his feet. "...I promise I'll get something back at the library," he finally said, before reaching out as though to take the tablet again. "And I'll stay there."
Arcade seemed hesitant, until Daisy spoke up. "If that's what you want, dear," she said, "don't worry, Arcade, I'll make sure he eats like he's supposed to."
With a sigh, Arcade finally relented the tablet. "I'll head back to the library before going anywhere else," he said, "in case you need me, or if Eve shows up and asks."

Getting closer and seeing in the windows, it was clear the new arcade was already bustling; not overly crowded, but there were plenty of people there. Especially the Fanboys, who were grouping up at multiplayer arcade games or hanging out at booth tables to have various food... Well actually, mostly pizza and sodas, though a few of them were having different food, and some were having beers or mixing beers with soda. They were busy enough that nobody was really paying attention to Ben or the others arriving yet.
"Well... As long as you know what you're getting into" Miss Tairee #2 said, before turning her attention more towards other work. There was shortly the dice roll and video game like beeps heard around Makoto, and she saw another text box.

Arcade didn't even hide his sigh of relief when the conversation switched from the Enclave to food. "Yeah, I'd love to have... breakfast? Is it still morning?" He glanced up at the sky for a bit before shrugging and holding his hand out for Cole to hang onto while they walked.
