I'm just going to go ahead and post the first part of my signup for critique, since all the rest of it is going to borrow heavily from descriptions in the Main Character section anyway. If anyone in my other RP sees this and is wondering: yes, writing this is indeed what I have been doing for the past several days rather than posting. Sorry for the delay!

Chunkless Faction: SEES and the Velvet Room

Main Character

  • Name: Minako Arisato
  • Age: 17
  • Appearance: "I believe so strongly / that tomorrow never falls away~ ♪"
  • Personality: A cheerful, energetic, and kind young lady who finds it easy to bond with others. She is both an excellent listener and highly perceptive, navigating conversations easily and displaying a quick wit tempered by wisdom far beyond her years. Having taken on the burden of protecting the world in secret from the entities called "Shadows", she bears its heavy weight with a smile and a song, and tries hard not to let any anxiety it might cause her show.
  • Powers:
    • Persona (The Fool, Wildcard): The manifestation of one's psyche, a Persona is a person's inner power given physical form and controlled by one's willpower, summoned by means of an Evoker. Each Persona possesses a specific set of abilities as well as a set of weaknesses and/or resistances to certain forms of attack and a general theme, such as physical attacks, a certain element of magical attacks, or healing. They are up to three times the size of an adult human, and although they are themselves more or less superhumanly strong, quick and durable - these attributes depending on the specific Persona - damaging the Persona causes sympathetic pain of equal severity in the same spot on the Persona user. Physical special attacks used by a Persona drain the user's stamina, and use of its magic spells causes mental fatigue. As for the latter, Minako is only capable of using twenty weak spells, ten middling spells, or five powerful spells (or a combination thereof) before becoming so tired that using another requires a rest period of twelve hours. If she had 20 MP, a weak spell would cost 1 MP, a middling spell 2 MP, and a powerful spell 4 MP.
      • Minako's personal Arcana is The Fool and her basic Persona is Orpheus, but due to her mysterious Wildcard trait, she is able to make use of virtually any Persona cataloged by the Velvet Room staff and can switch between those she has with her on the fly, although she can only carry twelve in her mind at any one time. Making use of the Velvet Room's services allows her to swap Personas out while there. For his own reasons, the Cure has also disabled the use of any so-called "light" and "dark" Persona skills, reduced the resistance properties of any given Persona to "damage halved" at most, and likewise nerfed anything else I forgot about that would be overpowered.
      • Buffs: For specific effects of buffs, see this post. Minako herself is capable of using every different buff, although generally no individual Persona of hers has more than one or two buff abilities.
    • Skills and Talents: Cooking (esp. pastries and sweets), first aid, leadership in general, music (composition and vocal performance), use of polearms (esp. naginatas), small team tactics, tennis, and knowledge of various subjects approaching college level.
    • Social Links: When beginning to bond with another person, and typically when physically touching them, Minako might form a Social Link, which represents the strength of said bond. For Minako, the creation of a new Social Link manifests as a brief flash of light and a voice announcing such in her head, but it manifests for the other party - and not for anyone else - as an extremely brief aura of bright blue surrounding the young woman. As her bond with a person so linked grows, so too will the power of any of her Personas from the Major Arcana tarot most closely associated with that person's psyche (up to the discretion of whoever controls that character).
  • Equipment:
    • Evoker: A handgun-shaped device utilized to summon one's Persona by holding the barrel to one's head and pulling the trigger. Supposedly, self-preservation instincts and basic fear response are the key to accessing a Persona through this method, although Minako doesn't seem to have any difficulty using it. As seen in Appearance, she caries it holstered around her waist.
    • Headphones (and music player): An old but perfectly functional memento that Minako wears around her neck at practically all times.
    • Polearm Collection: A collection of her specialty weapons, currently housed in the Velvet Room. By far her favorite and most effective is the colorful Vel Vel Muruga, which she suddenly found laying around with the rest of her bladed stick stockpile one day without explanation or apparent origin.
    • Spoils of (Shadow) War: Yen and various items picked up by SEES in the tower Tartarus during their investigations, ranging from assorted precious gems to what might charitably be called "useless trinkets". Aside from what small amount she carries on her person, the rest is stored in the Velvet Room.
  • Backstory: Left orphaned as a child by a car accident, Minako spent nine years of her life being shuffled to and fro in the poorly-run Japanese orphanage system. Eventually, she was transferred to attend high school on the artificial Tatsumi Port Island, the very place where her family had perished. Rather than simply entering a new school year as she stepped off the train, however, she was greeted by a strange contract and a web of supernatural mystery. Having leadership thrust upon her due to a combination of circumstances and her unique power to summon multiple Personas, she quickly proved herself and became both a central fixture and the permanent head of SEES (the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad). Together with her new friends, she fought back against the beings known as "Shadows" that were leaving innocent people as walking husks and investigated the ominous tower of Tartarus that loomed over the city during the "Dark Hour", a secret 25th hour hidden between 24:00 and 00:00.

Other Teammates

  • Name: Mitsuru Kirijo
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: I musn't falter.
  • Personality: Projecting a reserved image of elegant and aloof confidence at all times, Mitsuru takes her responsibilities as a senior member of SEES, as a mentor to her younger comrades, and as heir to her family's company and fortune with deadly seriousness. Though content to pass on team leadership to Minako, who seemed more suited to the task, she is powerfully driven to wipe out the Shadow menace and harbors a deep complex of guilt about her family's role in releasing the Dark Hour and all its horrors upon the world. Due to her extremely sheltered upbringing, she is also remarkably naive about some things common among the masses that she has only an intellectual understanding of.
  • Powers:
    • Persona (The Empress): See Minako: Powers for a description of Personas in general. Mitsuru's Persona is Penthesilea, which focuses on healing and magical attacks at the expense of defense and speed. It is resistant to ice and weak to fire. In a similar manner to Minako, she is capable of using twelve weak spells, six middling spells, or three powerful spells (or a combination thereof) before becoming so tired that using another requires a rest period of twelve hours.
      • Buffs: Able to use Mind Charge (next spell doubled; single).
    • Skills and Talents: Business acumen, high society etiquette, fencing, motorcycle riding, politics and public speaking, small team tactics (having led SEES before Minako), and a college level (but largely academic) understanding of various subjects.
  • Equipment:
    • Evoker: See Minako: Equipment for a description of Evokers.
    • Rapier Collection: A collection of her specialty weapons, currently housed in the Velvet Room.
  • Backstory: Awakening to her Persona as a young child out of a desire to protect her father, Mitsuru was the very first member of SEES, and has been fighting the Shadows in secret for the majority of her life. In middle school, she recruited Akihiko and one other individual, but the latter resigned from the group out of guilt after a tragic accident. Having passed on her prior role as leader to Minako, Mitsuru now serves as SEES' de facto second-in-command.

  • Name: Akihiko Sanada
  • Age: 17
  • Appearance: I've been waiting for this!
  • Personality: A serious and determined young man with a competitive streak a mile wide. He is extremely eager to fight against the supernatural menace SEES faces, to the point that his longtime comrade Mitsuru sometimes chides him to control himself. Having known Mitsuru the longest out of the entire team, he is quite scared of evoking her anger, although they are good friends. He thinks of Minako like a little sister, and is increasingly concerned that the burden of leadership may be causing her to suffer in silence too much. Although his relatively aloof nature, reputation as an ace student, and famed athleticism make him a favorite target of lovestruck girls at his school, he continues to remain largely oblivious to their attempts to get his attention, having bigger fish to fry in the form of saving the world from Shadows and finding the gaggle of fangirls that follows him around during the day to be both strange and annoying.
  • Powers:
    • Persona (The Emperor): See Minako: Powers for a description of Personas in general. Akihiko's Persona is Polydeuces, which focuses on physical strength and speed at the expense of defense. It is resistant to electricity and weak to ice. In a similar manner to Minako, he is capable of using twelve weak spells, six middling spells, or three powerful spells (or a combination thereof) before becoming so tired that using another requires a rest period of twelve hours.
    • Skills and Talents: Championship-level boxing, good study habits, peak physical fitness, training regimen design.
  • Equipment:
    • Evoker: See Minako: Equipment for a description of Evokers. Akihiko carries his in his coat pocket - a safe move, unlike with regular guns, as Evokers will not eject anything except blue mist when triggered.
    • Glove Collection: A collection of his specialty weapons (boxing gloves, and various other fist weaponry), currently housed in the Velvet Room.
  • Backstory: Growing up in an orphanage that later burned down with his little sister, Miki, inside, Akihiko was unable to forgive himself and vowed to become stronger. Thus, he took up boxing, and his skills in combination with his latent Persona summoning ability caused him to catch Mitsuru's eye in middle school. Recruited into SEES alongside his best friend from childhood, he was once again wracked by guilt after yet another tragic accident caused that friend to quit the team indefinitely. Incapable of coming to terms with his past and throwing himself obsessively into fighting Shadows, he welcomed Minako's arrival to the group and easily accepted her as the new leader, especially since he himself was injured and unable to return to combat at that time. Later on, however, he began to develop reservations about pushing the role on to her, that act becoming one more thing he feels guilty about.

  • Name: Junpei Iori
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Yo, what's up?
  • Personality: Junpei is generally a laid-back, fun-loving, and good-natured sort of guy. He has been best friends with Yukari since elementary school, in spite of her frequent verbal takedowns. Although he enjoys the idea of being a hero and once longed to be leader of the team, he recently realized he wasn't cut out for that job and got over feelings of jealousy he had been harboring for Minako's role, instead deciding to lend her his support as a close confidant and good friend. Although lacking in book learnin', Junpei is street smart and often the team's voice of common sense.
  • Powers:
    • Persona (The Magician): See Minako: Powers for a description of Personas in general. Junpei's Persona is Hermes, which focuses on physical and magical attacks at the expense of defense and speed. It is resistant to fire and weak to wind. In a similar manner to Minako, he is capable of using twelve weak spells, six middling spells, or three powerful spells (or a combination thereof) before becoming so tired that using another requires a rest period of twelve hours.
      • Buffs: Able to use Rakukaja (defense up; single) and Marakukaja (defense up; party).
    • Skills and Talents: Aside from video gaming experience, handiness with swords, and basic life skills, Junpei has no talents to speak of.
  • Equipment:
    • Evoker: See Minako: Equipment for a description of Evokers. Like Akihiko, Junpei carries his in a coat pocket.
    • Two-Handed Sword Collection: A collection of his specialty weapons, currently housed in the Velvet Room.
  • Backstory: Estranged from his alcoholic father, Junpei had been living apart from his family for a few years before discovering his innate abilities as a Persona user and joining up with SEES. As an ordinary but underachieving high school student with no real life goals, the secret war against the Shadows provided him with a purpose and direction.

  • Name: Aigis
  • Age: 9 Robot Years
  • Appearance: Initiating summon sequence.
  • Personality: Although she is a wholly mechanical living weapon, Aigis occasionally displays flashes of personality and ego outside of her usual robotic behavior and monotone speech. That being said, she does not fully understand or pick up on all social cues, this deficit partly manifesting as blunt honesty. She has a particular attachment to Minako for reasons she is unable to remember or rationalize, and considers it a prime directive to protect her at all costs. As a tool designed to fight Shadows, she takes to that objective wholeheartedly and with impressive efficiency, but she also considers all of Minako's suggestions to be akin to commands, which she gladly obeys. She is excellent at coolly and rationally analyzing virtually any situation that doesn't directly involve Minako's safety, and she is relatively fatalistic about her artificial, robotic existence.
  • Powers:
    • Living Weapon: As a robot constructed solely to fight supernatural threats, Aigis is a finely-tuned fighting machine. Aside from strength, endurance, and dexterity distinctly a magnitude greater than that of a human, she can flip back the tips of her fingers to fire bullets from her hands (although they must be reloaded after a point), and can swap out specialized weapons in the form of alternate arms as easily as changing clothes. She is also able to sense Shadows at close range and determine whether one of them is relatively weaker or stronger than herself. Lastly, she can, upon command or her own determination, temporarily overclock her system to greatly enhance her strength and speed. This enhancement, called Orgia Mode, lasts for three minutes but causes her to become unresponsive to commands, and after time is up, Aigis is rendered utterly immobile while she cools down.
    • Persona (The Chariot): See Minako: Powers for a description of Personas in general. Aigis' Persona is Palladion, which focuses on defense and physical attacks at the expense of speed. It is resistant to piercing attacks and weak to electricity. In a similar manner to Minako, she is capable of using twelve weak spells, six middling spells, or three powerful spells (or a combination thereof) before becoming so tired that using another requires a rest period of twelve hours. Unlike other members of SEES, Aigis does not require an Evoker to summon her Persona.
      • Buffs: Able to use Sukukaja (hit/evade up; single), Masukukaja (hit/evade up; party), Rakukaja (defense up; single), Marakukaja (defense up; party), Tarukaja (attack up; single), Matarukaja (attack up; party).
    • Skills and Talents: Accurate communication with animals, efficient energy use, firearms, following orders and routines, learning, Shadow extermination. Aigis is capable of absorbing and processing information at an astonishing speed, and her memory is near-perfect (except for those bits that were damaged or wiped, of course).
  • Equipment: Various munitions for her ranged weaponry, as well as a number of different modified robot arms, all of which happen to be variations on a cannon of some kind. She does not tend to carry these things with her, however; they are currently stored somewhere in the Velvet Room.
  • Backstory: Aigis is a 7th generation Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon developed by the Kirijo Group (which is SEES' origin and financial backer). After breaking out of the island storage facility where she had been held in stasis, she encountered Minako and the rest of SEES on the beach where they had been vacationing. For reasons that neither she nor Minako were able to explain or remember, Aigis had determined that her prime directive was to protect the latter at all costs, an impulse which had driven her to escape storage and seek her out upon sensing her presence remotely. Although a combination of damage from the battle that had put her out of commission in the first place, prior database scrubbing, and general neglect had left her memories and some of her core combat routines in a state of disarray, the Kirijo Group patched her up a little and assigned her to live in the same dormitory as the rest of SEES, since she was still a capable fighter and had shown such an unusually keen interest in Minako's welfare. It has been only a few weeks since Aigis joined the team.

  • Name: Yukari Takeba
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Gotta be brave...
  • Personality: Yukari is a volatile, stubborn, and rude young lady prone to mood swings and vitriolic words, although she does care for her teammates deep down. She has been friends with Junpei since childhood, and often uses her nickname for him, "Stupei" (Stupid + Junpei). Yukari is extremely terrified of ghosts, a fact which Junpei and Akihiko delight in teasing her about whenever the subject arises.
  • Powers:
    • Persona (The Lovers): See Minako: Powers for a description of Personas in general. Yukari's Persona is Io, which focuses on healing and magical attacks at the expense of endurance. It is resistant to wind attacks and weak to electricity. In a similar manner to Minako, she is capable of using twelve weak spells, six middling spells, or three powerful spells (or a combination thereof) before becoming so tired that using another requires a rest period of twelve hours.
    • Skills and Talents: Archery, acting, disproportionate retribution.
  • Equipment:
    • Evoker: See Minako: Equipment for a description of Evokers.
    • Bow-and-Arrow Collection: A collection of her specialty weapons, currently housed in the Velvet Room.
  • Backstory: Yukari's father died when she was young while working for the Kirijo Group, perishing in a series of explosions that destroyed Kirijo Labs on Tatsumi Port Island. For various reasons, this ruined her family relationships and caused her to develop into the charming young woman she is today. Thus, when Mitsuru approached her about her latent potential as a Persona user, Yukari jumped at the chance, although she hid her true motive of learning more about the circumstances around her father's death from the rest of the group. Only a few weeks ago, however, she learned that her father had in fact been personally responsible for the creation of the Dark Hour itself, a revelation that left her devastated and caused her to begin to distance herself from the rest of SEES.

  • Name: Velvet Room Staff
  • Age: Ages unknown, but the order of seniority is Igor > Margaret > Elizabeth > Theodore
  • Appearance: Igor, Margaret, Elizabeth, Theodore. Example of one version of the Room itself (practically every surface is blue and usually covered in velvet).
  • Personality: Igor is utterly loyal to his Master, Philemon, and is a very courteous and gracious host in spite of his off-putting appearance and voice. He is quite wise in matters concerning the big picture of life and is glad to explain his role and to offer his services and advice to any guests, though it seems he is practically incapable of speaking in a manner that isn't cryptic. Margaret is the most mature and professional of the Room's attendants aside from Igor. Theodore tries to imitate her out of respect for his elder sister and Elizabeth is rather whimsical by contrast, the both of them very curious about the outside world that they cannot visit.
  • Powers:
    • Contracting: It is said that only those who have "signed a contract" may enter and thus be guests of the Velvet Room. What this actually means is not terribly clear to anyone except Igor, but nobody who hasn't "signed a contract" can make the Room's apparently invulnerable door budge from the outside even a little bit. Even if the door was open, they would still only be able to peer inside and would not be able to cross the threshold without "signing a contract". On a related note, the Room is capable of producing paper and ink for other kinds of contracts out of nothing.
    • Hosting: The staff are hosts first and foremost, and possess all the mundane skills required to make sure their guests' stay is comfortable.
    • Persona Management: Igor is able to make use of his skills to fuse Personas Minako has equipped into a new, different one via means of various Tarot spreads. A Persona so fused may inherit some of its predecessors' abilities, and is powered up upon its creation according to the strength of Minako's Social Links in the corresponding Arcana. In addition, Elizabeth maintains a Compendium containing all of Minako's Personas from which the SEES leader can choose while in the Room, although none of the Velvet Room staff actually have Personas of their own. Bringing forth Personas from the Compendium would normally incur a proportional charge in Japanese Yen, but the staff have declared those fees waived.
    • Phone Calls: Velvet Room staff are able to make a phone call (or corresponding communication, depending on the device in question) to anyone who is considered a guest of the Room. It is impossible to use this as a method for tracking anyone, however, and the phone number being called is unknown even to the staff. The caller ID shows up as "VELVET ROOM" for the recipient, and the Room's number cannot be redialed. You don't call the Room; the Room calls you.
    • Tarot Reading: By making use of his deck of Tarot cards, Igor is able to make divinations about a person who asks him to. This can provide a commentary or insight to said person's character, the status of their relationships, or their trajectory as an individual, and although it could also be used to tell the future previously, those predictions might not be effective on Battleworld and could instead reflect the asker's future as it would have been in their home universe.
  • Equipment: The Velvet Room can be seen in many different forms over time, and the reasons for its changing in shape and size are unclear. In this instance, it has been greatly expanded into a two-story establishment. The first floor contains a plush, comfortable lounge at the entrance which serves as the main reception area, as well as a large storage room off to the side, a high-end kitchen fully stocked with all kinds of implements and ingredients, and a respectably sized dining area that can comfortably seat twelve people. The second floor has a balcony with a couple chairs and a hallway leading to bathrooms and personal bedrooms for the members of SEES.
  • Backstory: Igor, the Master and Head Host of the Velvet Room, calls himself a servant of a being named "Philemon" and has apparently been the Room's steward for as long as it has existed. He created several attendants in order to help with the duties associated with the Room, including the three that have come along to Battleworld with him.

Okay, here we go. Please suggest things I can improve upon or things that I should nerf below, and I will do my best to accommodate.

Chunkless - Samus Aran

  • Appearance: MISSION COMPLETE

  • Age: Late-20s to early-30s

  • Personality: Samus Aran is an efficient, self-reliant bounty-hunter who prefers to work alone. Toward others who have not earned her trust, she is cold and closed-off; if she disagrees with them, she will tell them. In some ways that’s a strength and a flaw; it keeps her on her toes, but she can easily break alliances if she doesn’t control herself. Toward her targets, it’s only business as to who she hunts or intends to extract information from; toward her enemies, she is ruthless almost to the point of questionable actions. She is loyal to the friends she does have, and if one does her a favor, she will not forget it, even if she doesn’t follow up on it.

  • Powers:
    • Morph Ball: Allows Samus to transform into a sphere that’s a meter in diameter, which allows her to fit into crevices a human wouldn’t normally fit into. Can use bombs in this form, which has a blast radius of a few meters or so. Those at short ranges (ie right on top of the bomb) will be badly injured, others may receive minor injuries or just be thrown by the shockwave. For the purposes of this RP, Samus will not use Power Bombs.
      • Boost Ball: Allows Samus to gain a short boost in speed.
    • Arm Cannon: Can be used to launch projectiles such as
      • Power Beam: A condensed form of light and heat. Can be fired the fastest and can be charged by Samus.
      • Wave Beam: Uses electricity. Slow to fire and cannot be charged, but may paralyze enemies for a short period of time (a post or two).
      • Grapple Beam: Essentially an electric lasso. Used to reach objects that cannot be reached normally. She can use this as a method to traverse areas of the map if the situation allows for it. She can also use it to bring enemies closer, but it is not used as a weapon.
      • Missiles: Strongest of the projectiles she has, but can only be fired one at a time at a slower rate than the Plasma Beam. In addition, she has a limited supply at a given moment.
    • Superhuman speed and agility when not in her Varia Suit

  • Equipment:
    • Paralyzer: Only used when in the Zero Suit. Can stun enemies for a short period of time, but it is only useful at point-blank ranges.
    • Varia Suit: Protects her from super-heated and overly acidic areas. The suit is modified to house
      • Space Jump Module: Allows Samus to jump higher and farther than an average human.
      • Speed Booster: Allows Samus to run at speeds comparable to an F1 racing vehicle. She can only activate this after running for a period of time, and it is temporary, seeing as this drains energy from her suit.
    • Zero Suit: Her attire under the Varia Suit. She has no way to use the Arm Cannon, Morph Ball, or other abilities in this suit, but she can run faster and jump higher in it. She may use the Paralyzer in this suit, as it is her only form of defense.

  • Backstory: After her family was killed during a raid of the colony K-2L by the Space Pirates, Samus was taken in by the Chozo alien race, who combined their DNA with her human DNA, resulting in a sort-of superhuman who surpassed a regular human in every physical way. After years of physical training, she left the Chozo to join the Galactic Federation. She became rebellious, almost compromising missions in order to achieve the goals of the Federation (and sometimes her own). After years in the Federation, she left out of shame after a particularly disastrous mission killed off all but two of her ten person regiment. She now works as a freelance bounty hunter, specializing in the Space Pirates.

[up]Any other characters? From what I've seen you need at least three people to be classified as a chunkless.

[up][up]Ok, so first off, welcome to Battleworld! Now, I have said that I was willing to allow solo chunkless groups, and I still am. I do encourage you to see if you can think of anyone that might fit a supporting cast role to join her. If not, no big deal.

Now then, as for the signup itself, I only have one issue, and that is the ship. I am allowing another player to sign up with a ship, but his is explicitly a chunk signup based around said ship and a forward operating base on the Battleworld. If said ship was a more important part of her character (Say, the games were based around ship fighting) I would be more willing to allow it. However, she will not need it for transportation, as there's a portal system she'll be able to use to get wherever she wants to go. Additionally, she'll be provided a room with both a resupply point and a repair station, so she won't need that. Thus, I'm going to say no for the moment to the ship. You are free to give me a counterargument if you feel the ship should be let in.

Rest of it looks fine, however.

Here comes my replacement sign-up. This one is, in fact, chunkless.

  • Main Characer
    • Name: Sol Badguy
    • Age: Nearly two-hundred years
    • Appearance: Keep yourself alive / Keep yourself alive / It'll take you all your time an' your money / Honey you'll survive
    • Personality: Rough around the edges, a tough nail to crack, an asshole, you get the drift. Sol Badguy's close to living out his second century of life, and the many, many years have been tiring him out, making him irritable in regards to almost everything. You'd be hard pressed to get Sol to be passionate about anything. Heck, in most of the fights he gets into, he cares so little that he only uses a fraction of his latent power. However, the few goals Sol strives towards, he puts his heart and soul into. The man (or Gear) hides a good amount of determination, one of the last remaining vestiges of his humanity.
    • Powers:
      • Gear Cells: Sol is the Prototype Gear, an experimental biological weapon that preceded a line of similar, more refined weapons. The Gear Cells in his body mean that he easily regenerates from conventional injuries, and is generally resistant to disease. He is highly resilient, but sufficient damage, magical or physical, can certainly be enough to kill him.
      • Magic: His Gear Cells also mean that Sol is highly tuned to the act of manipulating the Backyard, or 'Magic'. Sol's preferred Magic is of the Fire variety, creating flames to add destructive power to his regular attacks, or as makeshift projectiles.
      • Dragon Install: AKA Sol starting to give a shit. When he releases the limiter in his headband, Sol unleashes his true form and his power reaches terrifying new heights, able to easily raze cities to the ground if he felt like it. It's just a shame that The Cure wants a fair fight, so this technique will be unavailable to Sol. With that said, if The Cure ever felt like using that power for his own ends...wink wink nudge nudge. (P.S., in other words, Sol, as controlled by me, will be regularly unable to release his limiters, but I am making the GM aware of them should he ever feel like taking advantage of them) (P.P.S., yes, he is this powerful in canon)
      • Intellect: Sol brings with his brute strength vast Magical knowledge and engineering skill, often designing his own weapons.
    • Equipment:
      • Junkyard Dog Mk-III: Sol's weapon. A heavy, blunt weapon that's meant to be held with one hand, the Junkyard Dog heavily resembles a cigarette lighter, and fittingly so, is used as a medium for Sol's Fire Magic, utilising a hammer mechanism and firing bullet casings of Sol's own design to kickstart bursts of Fire Magic. The weapon can also open itself up, revealing itself as a casing to another weapon (the Fireseal, a sword designed to amplify Fire Magic) to increase power output.
      • 'Rock You' Headband: Sol's headband, a limiter that keeps his true form under wraps. In Battleworld, this will basically be for show, as Sol will be kept in his limited form at all times.
      • Sheer Heart Attack Album: A vinyl record; Sol's treasured piece of oldies rock music, that he listens to with the help of a portable gramophone spell. Touch it, you die.
      • Firewheel Mk.II: A motorcycle of Sol's design that uses a Magic engine. For all intents and purposes, a regular motorcycle, with the durability and speed you'd expect from one. However, Sol has the ability to use his magic to summon it to his present location. The kicker being that he only gets one in Battleworld. If it gets blown up or otherwise dismantled, he has to build it from scratch again.
    • Backstory:
    • When he was a man, Sol was a scientist who worked on the Gear Project, working towards a future of no human illness or injury. An accident caused his mysterious disappearance, and when he re-emerged, he began working against the Project, sabotaging it at every turn. Despite his efforts, the Project eventually churned out its ultimate creation, Justice, who then proceeded to rebel, lead an army of Gears and cause a hundred year war that nearly drove humanity to extinction. Great job, Gear Project!
    • Bearing heavy guilt over initially helping the project that almost destroyed the world, Sol worked towards ending Justice and her legions. Once that was done, Sol shifted targets to That Man, the man who spearheaded the Gear Project, and formerly one of Sol's best friends. He took a profession as a bounty hunter to hunt down That Man, and still searches for him to this day.

  • Other Teammates
    • Name: Sin Kiske
    • Age: Less than a decade
    • Appearance: Heaven can wait another day / Cuz there ain't no reason to leave / The world is a stage where we all can play / Another fine reason to live / And heaven can wait~
    • Personality: Sin could easily be called the picture-perfect definition of optimism, rarely dwelling on anything depressing. In fact, his cheer is so strong that he can seem like a bit of a man child at times, dismissing things that confuse him too much. However, with his simple-minded way of thinking comes a heart that's willing to accept anyone as a friend, whatever insecurities or annoyances they may have. He's been in a place where he couldn't be accepted by society, he knows how it feels. Of course, being simple-minded still comes with its faults, he can be stubborn, and a little too overconfident or cocky for his own good. However, he claims he will overcome his own flaws one step at a time. Any day now, Sin!
    • Powers:
      • Gear Cells: Similarly to Sol, Sin's Gear Cells make him resilient to magical and physical damage, able to heal injuries quickly. However, with enough magical power or physical prowess, Sin is perfectly killable.
      • Lightning Magic: Sin's preferred Magic takes the form of Lightning and electricity. Unlike Sol, who uses a few techniques to streamline and refine his Magic use, Sin brute forces it entirely, manifesting his Magic purely as projectiles and through his weapons.
    • Equipment:
      • War Flag: Sin's weapon. A flag that Sin took up in a misguided attempt to appear flashy in fights. Thankfully, lately he's been rolling up the flag for fights, increasing its practicality as a striking staff. Sin often channels his Lightning Magic through this War Flag.
    • Backstory: Born through the union of a human, the Illyrian High King Ky Kiske, and a Gear, the dreaded Maiden of the Grove, or known by her less threatening name, Dizzy, Sin is technically a prince. Sin loved his mother to death (seeing as she was one of the only people he had regular contact with as a child) but grew to hate his father (who spent hardly any time with him or his mother, being extremely busy as a King). For fear of what might happen to him should his identity as a Gear be exposed to the Illyrian public (Gears aren't exactly popular, I'm sure you can guess why), Sin's parents gave him to Sol Badguy to raise as his protege. Sin's been with him ever since, learning the ways of the bounty hunter.

  • Other Teammates
    • Name: Ramlethal Valentine
    • Age: Like, what, a year?
    • Appearance: Master of puppets I'm pulling your strings / Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams / Blinded by me you can't see a thing / Just call my name coz I'll hear you scream / Master / MASTER
    • Personality: Ramlethal's...still getting used to the whole 'having a personality' thing. When she was created by the supernatural entity known as the Universal Will (or as she calls it, 'Mother'), she knew only fulfilling her mission of helping to destroy the world. Once her role was finished, she was captured by the heroes, and had resigned herself to her fate, having completed her mission. Sin, however, managed to notice a smidgen of emotion in her speech, and through constant pestering, finally discovered her true self; a lonely young girl who followed her Mother's whims in a simple plea for approval. Once Sin made it clear to her that it was okay to have an opinion, Ramlethal, though retaining her cold, logical and near monotone demeanor, revealed a sensitive side to the little joys of life, particularly cute animals, good food and greater friends.
    • Powers:
      • As a Valentine: Valentines possess a variety of powers, including flight, a variety of Magics, as well as controlling familiars. Valentines are also linked to each other, being able to suppress each other's powers. Seeing as there are no other Valentines in Battleworld, that probably won't come into play.
      • Magic: Ramlethal possesses Magic similar to Sol and Sin, though not limited to any element. Her abilities manifest as a murky, green energy, that she can use to form a small barrier, or to fire as a projectile (sometimes in strange arcs), or to cover herself as she barrages a target head on.
      • Self-Destruct: Another common feature of Valentines, Ramlethal, if she so chooses to, can essentially turn herself into a live, devastating magical bomb, with all the power and radius of a good few tons of powerful explosives. But of course, it comes with the unfortunate side effect of turning dead, so this is unlikely to come into play.
      • Familiars: Ramlethal's familiars take the form of the white and black balloons with wings and teeth that float beside her when she needs them. Their main purpose is to store and carry her swords, as well as to combine into a larger familiar, 'Lucifero', who can join in tandem with her swords to fire a large beam known as the 'Calvados'. This beam is, at best, structure destroying level, and will adopt a cooldown time as determined by the GM (perhaps a few or more posts). These familiars can also teleport short distances.
    • Equipment:
      • Great Swords: Ramlethal's weapons, swords that dwarf even a regular human being. She is unable to carry them on her own, but her familiars are capable of clasping them in their jaws and swinging them as such on her command. They are, of course, predictably slow, which is why Ramlethal prefers to attack alongside her familiars.
      • Shapeshifting Cloak: Ramlethal's cloak is susceptible to her Magic, and capable of changing length and size. If you'll notice, her cloak possesses blades at its hem, which can soften or sharpen to her needs. She uses this cloak as another of her weapons.
    • Backstory: Created as part of a plot by the Universal Will, Ramlethal was meant to work in tandem with her sister Elphelt to bring about a coming apocalypse. Elphelt, however, defected, resulting in Ramlethal doing her part alone. Once it was done, she had attempted to self-destruct to take Sol Badguy down with her, but she was stopped by Elphelt and captured by the heroes. Abandoned by her Mother, Ramlethal's loyalties eventually changed to the heroes, a loyalty which only grew stronger when Elphelt was later forcibly brought under Mother's will against her own. Ramlethal now accompanies Sol and Sin in their travels, hoping to one day free Elphelt from Mother's machinations. To her, Battleworld is simply a brief detour.

  • Other Teammates
    • Name: Elphelt Valentine
    • Age: About a year or less
    • Appearance: You could be mine / But you're way out of line / With your bitch-slap rappin' and your cocaine tongue / You get nothing done / I said you could be mine~
    • Personality: In stark contrast with her nearly emotionally numb sister, Elphelt is brimming with personality. She always tries her best to keep up her standards as a proper lady, but is sometimes overly excitable when it comes to the topic of romance. She cares deeply for her sister and wants only the best for her, and though she may have been born slightly after Ram, El is essentially the big sister in the relationship, at least mentally. Elphelt is also physically unable to fall in love, a rule set by Mother and the reason she goes ga-ga over the mere topic of love.
    • Powers:
      • As a Valentine: Valentines possess a variety of powers, including flight, a variety of Magics, as well as controlling familiars. Valentines are also linked to each other, being able to suppress each other's powers. Now that there are two Valentines in Battleworld, this may actually come into play.
      • Magic: Elphelt possesses Magic not unlike her sister, though it manifests in pink instead of green. She is capable of projecting barriers, dash and fly at high speeds, and generate and retrieve her weapons from seemingly out of nowhere.
      • Self-Destruct: Another common feature of Valentines, Elphelt, if she so chooses to, can essentially turn herself into a live, devastating magical bomb, with all the power and radius of a good few tons of powerful explosives. But of course, it comes with the unfortunate side effect of turning dead, so this is unlikely to come into play.
    • Equipment:
      • Cyprus Pistol: A pistol of an incredibly odd design originating from the Cyprus Project. It serves as El's primary form of attack, and is capable of rapid fire. She doesn't ever seem to reload it, probably part of her Magic.
      • Miss Travailler: A shotgun also originating from the Cyprus Project. It is capable of firing a close-range, powerful burst, like all shotguns. This one, unlike her pistol, has to be reloaded.
      • Miss Confire: A rifle also originating from the Cyprus Project. It is Elphelt's main sniping tool. It needs to be reloaded.
      • Bouqet: A weaponized bouqet of giant roses that Elphelt swings with impressive force. These hurt more than you'd think.
      • The Magnum Wedding: A bullet that Elphelt saves for special occasions. When generated, loaded into Miss Confire and fired, the bullet will do no physical harm at all, but will pierce a target right in the metaphorical heart, causing them to fall in love with Elphelt for a very short amount of time. This I'm putting more for amusement than anything, and am willing to remove it if necesarry. Or at least, make it useless in actual combat.
      • Marriage Certificate': A marriage certificate that Elphelt keeps around just in case the man (or woman) of her dreams happens to drop in on her life one day.
    • Backstory: Created as part of a plot by the Universal Will, Elphelt was meant to work in tandem with Ramlethal to bring about a Merciless Apocalypse. She betrayed her Mother to help Ky Kiske, and thus Ramlethal was left to do her work alone. When Ram was captured, El tried her very best to convince her sister how awful it'd be to destroy the world, and help her realize her emotions, and for the most part, it worked. But as it turns out, Elphelt had never left Mother's side, even unknowingly. She was meant to be a spy that would monitor Sol Badguy and ensure the Universal Will's more insidious plans would go smoothly. After that revelation, she is taken away by Mother, and not seen again.

ok I think I have everything down and I tried to include drawbacks on most characters if I felt they were too broken. also these various machines are gonna be around the size of the hulk buster so 10 to 12 feet tall I think. If there's anything else you want to nerf or the descriptions don’t have enough info in them let me know. I included a few videos for some of the machines I felt my descriptions weren't really good enough for.

Main Character

  • Name: Hbiki Kamishiro
  • Age: 17-18
  • Appearance: [1]
  • Personality: calm and stoic, Hibiki usually tries to seal away his emotions so that they don't distract him from his mission leading to him having issues with forming attachments to anyone. He still cares deeply for his comrades and is willing to put himself in harms way to help others but it’s difficult to tell what he is thinking most of the time.
  • Powers: no personal powers to speak of
  • Equipment:
    • The Genion which comes equipped with two glaives that can also have their handles shorten down to swords and can be converted to a rifle mode, the ability to discharge energy from it's palms, two shell firing weapons mounted in it's shoulders, two back mounted beam cannons and two small beam daggers. Also has an energy barrier, not a strong one but enough to keep him from dying to a single hit most of the time.
    • Genion Gai it's not a separate machine but like a super mode for the genion, it's weapons are converted into either extra weapons or thrusters as it becomes capable of firing energy blasts from its hands or chests along with access to a heavy weapons platform. However it's extremely taxing on the generator so it can only be used for about 30 to 60 seconds once every 24 hours. here's a video showing the bifrost weapons system
      • as a final side note: if Hibiki attempts to use the power of the Genion too much it can put him into a coma by causing his sense of self to collapse inwards.
  • Backstory: He's a former 'beast hunter', who alongside his father, used to hunt down monsters from parallel worlds. However upon his family being wiped out, He agreed to pilot the Genion in order to get a shot at revenge against the people he holds responsible for the deaths of his family.

Other Teammates
  • Name: Rand Travis (No, not the singer)
  • Age: 27
  • Appearance: [2]
  • Personality: he's experienced, he’s seen his fair share of horror but he still
  • Powers: none so to speak
  • Equipment: Gunleon. The Gunleon is actually supposed to be a repair machine meaning it's outfitted with chainsaws, wrenches (both that huge one and a set of spanner wrench nunchucks), and nail guns. however it's got a secondary form known as Gunleon Magna that basically provides your standard power up (increased speed, strength, etc) however Magna mode is powered by pain, meaning that it inflicts physical pain on Rand the longer he uses it to the point he can withstand about 1 to 2 minutes of it before passing out rendering him vulnerable. video of magna mode in action
  • Backstory: Rand's a 27 year old mechanic and part of a repair group known as 'Beater Services'. He's known as 'The Crusher' due to the fact that he usually breaks more things than he fixes and the name pisses him off to no end. He's on the look out for his missing business partner who just up and disappeared one day, leaving Rand to take care of the guy’s daughter. Taking care of her is the primary reason that Rand usually takes high risk repair jobs since they pay so much

  • Name: Setsuko Ohara
  • Age: 17-18
  • Appearance: [3]
  • Personality: a quiet and kind girl, she is easily able to empathize with others. However she has a strong will and is not as soft as her outer appearance suggests.
  • Powers: none
  • Equipment: Virgola Glory S. It comes equipped with the Nautilus carver, a unique weapon designed to function in multiple situations. The gunnery carver can generate a sword, function as a powerful beam cannon, fire missiles and create a beam bayonet under the barrel. however the carver is it's only weapon so if that is lost the Virgola Glory S is completely unarmed. Controlling this machine also slowly drains Setsuko of her senses.
  • Backstory: as a child she lost both her parents during a colony drop by zeon remnants. She later joined the military and was member of a titan (yes, the zeta gundam bad guys) unit referred to as 'team glory story' who's job was to test out special machines such as the Virgola. She ended up defecting and has reformed the glory star team with alternate universe versions of her old team mates later down the line.

  • Name: Crowe Brust
  • Age: around early 20s, older than Hibiki but younger than Rand
  • Appearance: [4]
  • Personality: He's a pretty laid back guy, usually calm and collected as befitting of his combat style. However he’s got a bit of a cynical side to him thanks to his team in a black ops unit. He also never really shuts up about money.
  • Powers: none
  • Equipment: Li Brasta T. It uses the AX-99 RAPTOR rifle combined with a spigot system, think of the spigots as like attack drones or options from gradius, to basically beam spam. The rifle can also generate a beam bayonet from the tip. It's capable of using a larger set of spigots mounted on it's knees to basically hurl itself forward at incredible speeds. However, like with the Virgola, the RAPTOR rifle is pretty much the Li Brasta T's only weapon so losing it leaves the machine with only a shield for defense. The other issue is that by piloting it, Crowe is either locked into a single train of thought so that he can only focus on a single target or he has to sacrifice his money to snap out of it. So it's either tunnel vision or debt.
  • Backstory: He's a former member of a Britannian black ops unit known as 'The Firebug squad' who's purpose was to go into areas and stir up violence so that Britannia had a pretense to invade. Crowe eventually defected after an incident that he felt crossed the line and ended up a test pilot where he eventually ended up in the cockpit of the Li Brasta T. Another thing to note is that he's constantly trying to pay off a million dollar debt, but he never manages to because he has extraordinarily bad luck when it comes to money.

  • Name:Advent
  • Age: unknown over 120 million years
  • Appearance: [5]
  • Personality: a rather warm and friendly person, he's always got a kind smile on his face and a disposition that tends to put others at ease. However he's also a master manipulator and somewhat arrogant in combat which has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.
  • Powers: none that I want to include for this RP
  • Equipment: The Asclepius, a machine designed for high speed combat it's fingers, elbows, feet, legs, and knees are all sharpened to a point. It also packs beam cannons and the ability to summon a large cannon called the liberator. video of it in action. It's armor is pretty thin though so Advent could find himself in trouble if he doesn't dodge.
  • Backstory: Advent is the leader of a mysterious group called Chrono that had the job to watch over Earth and keep humanity from evolving. From time to time he showed up to help Hibiki and the others, but eventually he betrayed them. He's also responsible for the destruction of a race of people known as the 'geminiedes' (likely along with many more that were not mentioned) and he killed Hibiki's mom.

  • Name: Gadlight Meonsam
  • Age: thirties to forties most likely
  • Appearance: [6]
  • Personality: Angry drunk hobo, that is literally the best summary for this man. He’s pissed off at the world/universe because he feels it’s given him no chance to be happy and has repeatedly screwed with him for no reason.
  • Powers: well his skin is made of metal if that counts.
  • Equipment: Geminia. A robot designed by the Geminiedes, of which Gadlight is one of the surviving ones. It's designed to have only minimum amount of weaponry so that it can still have good mobility. Because of this it has only two weapons, the light particle blast where it expels energy from it's hands and the Light broken swords where it forms blades of hard light. It also has a energy barrier, similar to the one used by the Genion, in order to help it survive attacks.
  • Backstory: Gadlight is former military officer and a surviving Geminiede who was jealous over the fact that the earth was being protected from a certain galactic threat while his home was destroyed so he decided to destroy the earth himself, or at least wipe out humanity. This did not end well for him. He's also responsible for the deaths of Hibiki's Father and Younger Sister.

[up]Ok, understand that with the size nerf also comes an appropriate reduction in the destructive power of the robots, since some of those attacks looked way to frigging powerful in the normal sized robots. Also, anything with Ao E (those spread shots, for instance) will be noticeably less powerful then a single focused shot would be. Normal balance stuff, in other words.

So, with that in mind, you are accepted

of course, Thank you for allowing me in.

and don't worry, that rule about spread shots being weaker than normal attacks already applies in the videogames so I was gonna go by that logic.

Azure Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Fist from The World Since: Nov, 2012 Relationship Status: We finish each other's sandwiches
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Fist
#168: Sep 7th 2015 at 11:15:53 AM

Main Character

  • Name: Hibiki Tachibana
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Normal Transformed. Ignite Module
  • Personality: Hibiki is a very sweet girl who can easily make freinds with anyone, at least anyone that's willing. She always hesitates to harm another person, insisting they can talk it out, but will do so if it means protecting the people important to her. Despite her sweet nature she has a tendency to bottle up her troubles, which manifest instead as violent outbursts. And god help you if you're the actual target of her rage, rather than some internal strife.
  • Powers:
    • Normal: She has been trained in various forms of martial arts, and has speed and stamina above that of an average human.
    • Transformed:She's also Attuned which means she can use Phonic Gain, energy produced by singing, to activate and bond with a Relic becoming a Symphogear. As a Symphogear she produces a field that shields her body from harm though its not perfect. A good amount of force can still hurt her. The Symphogear form also greatly increases her physical abilities, to the point that her punches create localized schockwaves, thought its possible only Hibki gets this much of a boost. There are also rockets positioned on several parts of her body allowing her a burst of speed, this is true for all Symphogears.
    • Armed Gear:Normally a Symphogear is capable of producing an Armed Gear, a weapon specialized for their use. Hibiki however has no such thing at first glance. Her "Armed Gear" could be said to be her hands themselves. Aside from them being weapons themselves, when Hibiki holds hands with other Symphogear she's capable of amplifying the Phonic Gain produced by each of them for devastating attacks.
    • Ignite Module: A second transformation that increases a Symphogear's Phonic Gain tremendously. However, it can be dangerous as it tests the Symphogear mentally. A failed transformation can result in either taking a lot of damage or entering a berserker like state where they begin to fight more like an angry animal.
    • Swan Song:A very last resort attack that all Symphogear posses. It produces massive amounts of Phonic gain, for an equally massive attack. The drawback being that it causes internal organ damage and can kill the user.
    • Equipment:She always wears her relic, Gungnir, in the form of a necklace with a pink crystal attached.
  • Background: Hibiki and her best friend Miku being huge fans of the Idols and singing group, Zwei Wing, went to see them preform one day. But the show quickly turned into a bloodbath as monsters called Noise appeared and attacked the audience. It was then that Zwei Wing revealed themselves to be Symphogear, among them the previous user of Gungnir: Kanade Amou, and attempted to defend the citizens. Hibiki was caught up in the battle and had a pieces of shrapnel from Kanade's Gungnir lodged in her heart. Hibiki survived but Gungnir had fused with her heart allowing her to transform with just the fragments, at the cost of slowly killing her. She was taken in by the Mobile Defense force, now called S.O.N.G. and helped fight off several threats to the world, having had her ideals tested each time. Eventually Gungnir was removed and she was given an intact version that's not fused to her heart.

Supporting Cast

  • Name:Tsubasa Kazanari
  • Age: 19
  • Appearance: Normal Transformed Ignite Module
  • Personality: Tsubasa is the very serious, yet cool headed type most of the time. It can be said that she's sometimes the voice of reason among the current Symphogears. While she can seem aloof, in truth she has a habit of clinging to those that accept her. She is constantly trying to prove her own worth to others and to herself, which means that at times she's a little too willing to sacrifice herself.
  • Powers:
    • Normal: Tsubasa actually has a bit of training in the art of ninjutsu. Which in Symphogear world means she's capable of moving very quickly and silently. Though she's far from a master of it.
    • Transformed:Tsubasa doesn't gain as much of a massive boost as Hibiki but she does have the same shielding. She has an Ignite Module and a Swan Song as well.
    • Armed Gear: Her Armed Gear takes the form of a sword who's shape she can manipulate. It can go from being normal sized to Fuckhuge, and capable of firing sword beams. She can also fight with the blades on her legs, summon a rain of energy swords, and create a sword as large as a building which she drives at the opponent with a Ride Kick style technique.
  • Equipment: Her Relic, Ame no Habakiri, worn just like Hibiki's
  • Backstory: As the other half of Zwei Wing Kanade's death impacted her quite a bit, causing her to withdraw more into her she off aloofness, and to actually hate Hibiki at first. Though over time and through several hardships she was able to open up, even a little, to her new friends. She continued her career as an Idol as well as fulfilling her duties as a Symphogear.

  • Name: Chris Yukine.
  • Age: 17
  • Appearance: Normal Transformed Ignite Module
  • Personality:Chris is rather outgoing, and cheerful a lot of the time. Though this is honestly out of a need to show that she's someone people can depend upon rather than the other way around. This isn't out of malice or a sense that she's better than other people, but rather a desire to have people around her. She's even capable of mediating fights between her friends out of the need to keep them together. Her insecurities however can cause her to lose her head at times, mostly when she's frustrated.
  • Powers: Her Symphogear has the same shielding and boosts as Tsubasa's.
    • Armed Gear: Chris' is a set of gauntlets and the plates covering her hips. The gauntlets are capable of taking the form of crossbows that can shoot energy arrows, Submachine guns, and a pair of double barreled mini-guns's which she's able to wield easily. The plates contain a large amount of small rockets as well as two very big missiles.
  • Equipment: Like the others, her relic Ichival.
  • Backstory: She was orphan who was taken in by the United States Government. They didn't however hand her over to an orphanage. Instead they gave her to the mysterious woman known as Fine(Fee-nay). Fine performed many experiments on her in order to make her more compatible with relics. Anesthesia was also apparently something Fine didn't believe in. She intitially appeared as an enemy to Tsubasa and hibiki but after her defeat and several interactions with Genjuro Kazanari, the man who'd become her father figure, she decided to join them.

  • Name: Kirika Akatsuki
  • Age:16
  • Appearance: Normal Transformed. Ignite Module(guess which one she is.)
  • Personality: Kirika's almost like Hibiki 2.0. She's a sweet girl who's only wish is to protect her friends, though its more focused on her partner Shirabe, and less about everyone. Kirika would rather forge ahead, and think about the consequences later, something that would get her introuble more often were it not for Shirabe reeling her in when she goes too far.
  • Powers:
    • Normal: She doesn't have much training fighting outside of her Symphogear form. She has a limitation though in that without Li NKER, a drug that increases Phonic Gain, she can't sustain her transformation for very long. Overdosing on Li NKER can increase her Phonic Gain beyond normal capacity but it causes damage to her body.
    • Transformed: Second verse same as the first.
    • Armed Gear: Kirika uses a scythe and like the others is capable of manipulating its shape. She can spawn aditional scythe blades, to use like boomerangs, bind her enemy with chains, make the scythe into a Guillotine, and even summon mutiple scythes which are then held by extra arms that are created from her armor. She also has a combination attack with Kirika in which they combine their Armed Gear's ablities foe maximum effect.
  • Equipment: Her Relic, Igalima.
  • Background: Like Chris she was an orphan that was put through experiments in order to make her compatible with a Relic. She was part of a large group, but she felt alone until she met Shirabe. The two promised to never separate, and to get through the experimentation together. They of course did, and were taken in by Professor Natassaja who acted as a mother figure for them. It wasn't sunshine and rainbows though as they were to be used in a plan by the evil Dr. Ver to revive several ancient weapons. She was the first to reject this plan, and defect to the heroes' side, and has since served along side the other Symphogears.

  • Name Shirabe Tsukuyomi
  • Age: 15
  • Apperance: Normal Transformed
  • Personality: Shirabe prefers to think about her actions before she takes them. Almost too much. She's very shy and hesitates to do anything, often finding herself being dragged along by Kirika. Its not as if she minds though. Its often Kirika that gives her the confidence to actually do the things she thinks about.
  • Powers:
    • Normal: Same as Kirika
    • Transformed: Also the same, though it has one unique function in that incorporates a pair of skates that give her great mobility.
    • Armed Gear: Shirabe's takes the form of the mechanical pig tails on her hair, and a yo-yo. The yo-yo can increase in size and become a buzzsaw like weapon for Shirabe to swing at opponents. The pig tails can open up and reveal many small buzz saws that she can fire off at will, fold outward into long arms that end in very large buzzsaws which she can use as a shield, swing or launch. They can also be used to make a large wheel that encircles Shirabe, allowing her to ram into enemies or move quickly or can be repositioned into helicopter blades for flight. Her wheel form can also be used in conjunction with Kirika's Guillotine attack for a pincer strike.
  • Equipment: The Relic, Shul Shugana.
  • Background: Shirabe was right there with Kirika during the experimentation. Whenever she thought she couldn't take anymore she would find Kirika right by her side. Like Kirika she made it out and into the care of Natassaja. She didn't agree with Kirika that defecting was the right thing to do, and though they fought she eventually relented and joined Kirika and the othes.

  • Name: Maria Cadenzavna Eve.
  • Age: 21
  • Appearance: Normal. Transformed. Black Gungnir. Ignite Module
  • Personality: Maria can seem very cold to someone that doesn't know her. She is the type of person that can put their emotions aside and do whatever's nessecary to protect people or get a leg up on her enemies. That said, her limit comes at harming innocents, she refuses to do so. When she's not in her cold warrior state though she's somewhat motherly, always encouraging or comforting her friends. She also won't hesitate to defend them if she thinks someone's doing them wrong.
  • Powers:
    • Normal: Maria is highly trained in hand to hand combat, as well as fighting with a sword. Though she doesn't seem to exhibit superhuman abilities, she does seem to have an unmatched bravery.
    • Transformed: Same as usual for the most part. The only difference being that she can actually wield Gungnir.
    • Armed Gear: Her usual weapon takes the form of her dagger. She can, you guessed it, manipulate its size, shape and number. She can summon multiple copies of her armed gear which can float around her, before firing at the enemy, Convert the dagger into a whip-sword, or make it into a full sword for an especially powerful hit.
    • Gungnir: In this form she actually has access to its Armed Gear, a very large spear that functions almost identically to her normal Armed Gear. With the whip-sword variant being replaced by a drill. Her cape can also be used as a shield.
  • Equipment: The Relic, Airgetlam.
  • Background: Maria was another of the group being experimented on to test compatibility with Relics. During that time her younger sister, Serena, was all she had. Unfortunately Serena was lost when she had to use her swan song to stop a rampaging ancient, living weapon. Like Shirabe and Kirika she was taken in by Professor Natassaja, but unlike them she willingly participated in Dr. Ver's plan. This included her becoming a world famous singer, and wielding the Black Gungnir. Like the others she defected to the heroes' side once she realized Dr. Ver was batshit. She gave up her Gungnir to Hibiki and and instead now weilds her sister's Relic. She's also currently a member of Zwei Wing being the one to succeed Kanade in that regard.

  • Name: Elfnien
  • Age: Possibly Thousands.
  • Appearance: Bloop.
  • Personality: Elfnien is a shy cowardly person, preferring to avoid conflict most of the time. But she is capabable of acts of bravery. When around those she trusts, she acts very sweet towards them. She also has an almost unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
  • Powers: Elfnien has no combat capabilities. What she does have is the memories of the daughter, of the greatest alchemist in the world. And in Symphogear land that means that she's capable of breaking down, analyzing and reconstructing almost any substance. She can use this ability to create almost seemingly magical items, depending on what materials she has at her disposal. It was her that created the Ignite Modules.
  • Equipment: A small mysterious box that possibly contained the ancient weapon, Dainslief as well as the tools of her craft.
  • Background: She is a Homunculus created by the alchemist Carol and given Carol's childhood memories, as well as knowledge on the world around her. Until recently she had acted as Carol's asistant, but a sever disagreement caused her to steal Dainslief and run way to S.O.N.G.

Chunk

  • Name of the world: S.O.N.G(Squad of Nexus Gaurdians) HQ
  • Description: S.O.N.G. HQ is a very large futuristic office building. . Its capable of comfortably accomodating at least 3000 residents, though there aren't nearly that many people in S.O.N.G. The inside is mostly metal with a very futurist aesthtic.
  • Contents: S.O.N.G. HQ may look an feel luxirious in some ways but its still a military base. Along with rooms for everyone, its got an armory, various containment facilities, an infirmary manned by very capable doctors, and it has a command center capable of monitoring the activity of the Symphogears as well as enemies for miles. It also has several entertainment and training facilities.
  • Specialties: In the world S.O.N.G. comes from, singing produces a an energy that can be harvested to power machines capable of supernatural feats. Additionally should a human train themselves enough they seem to be able to actually replicate insane feats like something you'd seen in a kung-fu movie. The prime example of this would be Genjuro Kazanari, Tsubasa's uncle and the strongest fighter in S.O.N.G. He does however leave things to the Symphogears as he is still a human and without armor that can withstand supernatural threats he's at a massive disadvantage. Besides “The kids need the experience.”
  • Population: S.O.N.G HQ houses around 300 agents at any given time, most of them working as cooks, janitors, and maintenance specialist, as well a group dedicated to communication. Meanwhile others provide support for the Symphogear and still others as combat and reconnaissance agents.

[up]Interesting signup, not seen the like before for sure. Anyway, I'm ok with most of this. While I got a chuckle out of "Fuckhuge" we need to define a maximum length for it. I am unsure how large it is in the source material, but my thinking is no more then 10-15 feet (if you've ever seen Sepheroth's large ass sword, that's what I'm thinking as max). I, again, may be convinced to go higher if you feel it should be longer then that.

As for the chunk, we begin to stretch the definition of what makes up a chunk at this point. I allowed the incoming Halo ship signup because he's going to have a forward operating base on the Battleworld he would also be responsible for. This does not appear to be the case here. Does this sub have some main base it docks at? Or does this group have any kind of non-mobile headquarters it can use?

Yes, I am double posting, kill me now.

Anyway, important announcement, new signups are now closed. I may see about opening them back up if I feel we can handle new players once I get the latest ones slotted in, but we're at 20 already, so....ya. The player currently in PM talks with me will be the only other person who's not already announced intent to signup to submit a signup.

Here's a picture.

Also they don't really go into detail about this but I'm fairly certain they have a land base with the same function as the submarine, but most of the time their shown operating out the submarine.

[up]Perfectly fine

[up][up][up]Ok, that size looks ok to me. And if you don't mind terribly, I'd prefer you use the land base for this.
