The Marineford arc was good entertainment - wise but holy fuck was it's writing bad. Characters that previously didn't mean shit in terms of strength suddenly did and knew things they didn't before, other characters jumped out of nowhere with no foreshadowing.

So it's confirmed that the Word Soul Devil's name is Zagred.
He was also a Devil on the level of the ones possessing the Dark Triad.

In before it turns out the devil possessing Asta is the king of them all.
I'm not sure about that. They say he was 'high-ranking', but apparently the ones possessing the Dark Triad are 'the highest-ranking'.
Glad I'm not the only one who's a bit too happy at the prospect of Gauche dying.

In most cases Asta would have already been worfed to the ground by now.

Well, I think "unleash your super-powered evil side out of anger after your friend was kiled" is the one shonen cliché BC hadn't used yet?
One of the interesting things is that it looks like the Devils ruling Spade don't know that Zagred was defeated. Would not be surprised if they thought he had taken over Clover.
I feel bad for Grey, though. Now that she finally was becoming close friends with someone.
Also the elf-arc could get tiring due to how overtly drawn-out it was.
Here's hoping there's some breaks in between with this one.
