Bending World Interest/Signups

Let us look upon ourselves in a world where the art of bending actually exists, and still does. The current Avatar, Avatar Riacho, from the Earth Kingdom has opened an academy where all benders can come and learn to control their special talent. Not that it isn't open to non-benders, as there is a wing for each, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and even None, as sometimes the best warriors and scholars are not even benders at all. Along with regular classes, each student will be assigned to a five man squad consisting of one from each element and a non-bender, a leader will be decided on based on entrance scores and scores on the first exam, the exam will also decide the teams.

Name: Sauroben (Sauro to his friends.)

Age: 17

Bio: Growing up, Sauroben had pretty much anything and everything he wanted. He never lacked, his parents were there, he was allowed to do pretty much whatever, but one day that all changed. When Sauro was twelve, his mother was killed in an accident down by the mines. After that, Sauro's father shut himself in and never really did much, leaving Sauro to fend for himself and his family, his younger sister, at the age of seven was also doing everything she could to help, cleaning, cooking, paying bills. Then he got the letter, inviting him to Bending International, excited he sent a letter back relaying the problems he had with going, which were quickly taken care of.

Having never really focused on his fire bending until he joined up with some underground tournaments, he only knows his own form of bending, and didn't really focus on much else, though he always excelled in his studies. After a few monthes in the arena, he became known as the Dragon of the South.

Appearance: Very sleek with a taller build, standing around six foot, pure blue eyes and black hair. He wears several types of clothing, but tends to wear a button up and tie with shorts, no overcoat, he can warm himself.

Personality: Rather friendly, he can come out a little sarcastic at times, but he cares about the people around him. He has a tendency to speak his mind but is open to opinions that conflict with his.

Element: Fire

Et Cetera: Can lightning bend, his fire is red, and his favorite hobby is tinkering with electronics.

• Name: Rigor

• Age: 19

• Bio: Rigor's parents had always been ambitious people. So one day they moved to the Earth Kingdom, hoping to achieve a better life by setting up a seafood store there. Using their Waterbending skills to fish, they were relatively successful. Wishing for their son to live an even better life, they often made him study and practice his bending until he came of age. Now that the time has come, they sent him to the university with high expectations.

• Appearance: Image incoming.◊

• Personality: So silent that some believe for him to be mute, he actually just is afraid of saying something wrong. Rigor tends to focus on his studies, but does care for his friends even if he isn't the best at showing it.

• Element/No bending: Water

• Et Cetera: Due to growing up among Earthbenders Rigor tends to use his Waterbending in a style more reminiscent of Earthbenders, shooting blocks of ice at opponents and such.

Name: Harun al-Rashid.

Age: 18.

Bio: Born to two Sandbender parents, Harun and his family moved away from the desert to Omashu when he was 13, to find a better life for the three of them. Harun hated it. He was "the weird Sandbender kid" for most of his years there, not least because he was never seen in anything but his Sandbender rags and would blow sand and dust at anyone who annoyed him. His massive sulk lasted until he was 16, when he finally would start talking to people and not just grunt. One day, one of his newfound friends said that with his skill, he should try competing in the amateur bending league that had been set up there, and he figured he'd give it a try. He went straight to the top after a few months, and after he won the championship match there, the letter came for him. After clearing it with his parents, and apologizing to his friends for leaving for such a long time, Harun set out to the academy.

Appearance: Tall, skinny, and brown-skinned, with dark brown eyes and messy hair to match. Prefers to dress in the Sandbender Tribes' usual rags, but can be made to wear something else if pressured/needed.

Personality: Grumpy and taciturn, but not actually a dick, and will gradually warm up to people given time and a decent reason.

Element/No bending: Earthbender, though he specializes in sandbending.

Et Cetera: Harun can use a certain skill that isn't rare so much as underused; he can manipulate the tiny particles of earth in the air into various implements, up to and including a boomerang, a small shield, and a dagger. He can also use them as a smokescreen.

Much rock, such yes, very accepted!

• Name: Satoru

• Age: 18

• Bio: Satoru comes from a family with numerous Bending children, which only made it more jarring for his parents when Satoru was born without bending. He's lived with this over his shoulder, and has tried to distance himself from them. Satoru, ever since his young adolescence, found his place with a group of fellow non-Benders. He seems to have found interest in machines, enjoying fixing and creating different machines to "decrease the disparity between me and benders." He was signed up by his parents for the Academy, to get him away from "bad influences."

• Appearance: Satoru is a rather skinny though well toned young man with rather disheveled black hair, grey eyes, and a slightly pale appearance. He is tall, and seems to have a broody look. He usually keeps a bag at his side with a number of technological pieces inside. He wears a black sleeveless shirt and dark blue pants, and boots.

• Personality: Satoru is mostly a quiet type, disliking making readily apparent shows of emotion, though when he gets fired up enough it overrides this. He has an internalized inferiority complex in regards to benders, due to his siblings achieving great, noticeable things, while he silently worked on machines. He has a wanting to do great things, to prove himself, and show that you don't need powers to be considered a great. Despite his quietness, he does show care for others and a want to help others, but a corresponding fear of being looked down on or overshadowed.

• Element/No bending: Non-bender. He's learning chi-blocking.

• Name: Hyana
• Age:17
• Bio: Hyana didn't have the happiest early life. She was abandoned by her parents, (At least she thinks this is what happened) and had to fend for herself most of her life. This made her very good at using her bending for violence, and she grew to become a pretty good fighter. When she was about 12, however, she met Neha. Neha owned a cafe, and one day noticed Hyana outside. Realizing she was homeless (and hungry), Neha took her inside and gave her some food. This continued, and eventually she took Hyana in permanently. Hyana enrolled in the academy at Neha's urging, Neha believing she would be able to do better with her skills.
• Appearance:5'1" and a little bit pudgy. This pudge hides the fact that she has a rather thick layer of muscle, and she usually surprises people with how strong she is. She's kind of tan, and has black hair and brown eyes. She usually wears her hair tied at the ends. She wears a knee length blue dress and boots, with some kind of purse containing money or something on her shoulder.
• Personality: Gruff, but good natured. She has a tendency to be pretty blunt, and can come off as rude sometimes. Mostly, though, she is spirited and cheerful. She's not very book smart, but when it comes to practical application and improvising, she's hard to beat. If you anger her too much, she'll probably show you how she earned her street nickname.
• Element/No bending: Water. She's not too good with healing though.
• Et Cetera: She's really good at making small snacks and hot beverages, as a result of living/working in a cafe for five ish years. Also, mention her name or 'The Icy Demoness' around some street rats and you might provoke fear.

• Name: Heide
• Age: 32
• Bio: No one knows where Heide came from, hell, no one knows if Heide's his real name, all that we have to go on is his own backstories, and he seems to take joy in making up new ones every day. However, what we do know is that he tends to work for hired muscle, and when he doesn't, he seems to enjoy rampaging through the city,
• Appearance: Heide is a tall slender man, though well built. He wears a wife beater, and jeans with red cloth wrapped around his instep. He has necklength scruffy blonde hair.
• Personality: Heide, is brutal, sadistic and greedy. He despises the law, and really, everything else, enjoying combat. However, he does have some sort of perverse spiritual belief system that seems to view his kills as returning his victims to the earth, something that to him, is a proper death. However, his hedonism has a side effect of making him a loose canon.
• Element/No bending: Earth Bending
• Et Cetera: While he is not exactly a mental mastermind, Heide is extremely skilled in close combat too, making him dangerous even without his bending abilities, on top of having an immensely high pain threshold.

I only have one question. Will we ever actually learn his story? regardless, accepted, pick a door.

I'm assuming there's still room to join, so here's my character.

Name:Jai

Age:16

Bio: Jai was just a patriotic fire nation child. He was proud to be part of the fire nation. He wanted desperately be a fire bender, but that all changed when he found out about his "gift". He was an airbender and after being offered a place to train in the temple he said no instantly. Although he wanted to say no to the bender academy, his parents forced him into going.

Appearance: Short brown hair that is spiked up in the front. He is quite tall and is sometimes even mistaken as an adult because of it.

Personality: Despite his refusal to join the airbenders, he is still cares about helping others, he just prefers not to have people ordering him around. He also refused the offer to train at the air temples because he's not real into the airbender life style, especially the part about being a vegetarian.

Element/Non-bending: Air

Other facts: His airbending style is similar to that of firebenders, so learning to work a glider, or creating an air scooter might be very difficult to him.

Name: Unknown (Called "The warlock")

Age: 16

Bio: All he has ever told people is that he was born a nobleman in the water kingdom. He always thought that light alone was useless, and that darkness was not always evil. Then, he discovered something... from before both. No one knows what it is... he calls it "Kukazi". He is no avatar, but he serves it's needs as well as one could. In return, he was granted great powers over bloodbending.

Appearance: None of his body can be seen under his robes. His black robes part at the front, revealing he wears silver armor. His mask is platinum, striped with black and is made to resemble a mass of tentacles. He is 6 feet tall, and is very thin.

Personality: Calm, calculating, patient, intelligent. And snarky. Don't forget snarky.

Element/No bending: Bloodbending

Et Cetera: Despite his dark abilities and terrifying master, he is quite noble. He often uses his Bloodbending in unique (and deadly) ways, such as by impaling his enemies from the inside out.
