"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI am already avoiding gameplay videos, but just from the name I'm guessing the blue estus flask just restores MP a limited number of times? It is a very obvious solution, really.
Yep. Restored at bonfires and all. There seem to be 'low-mana' spells though, like Soul Darts - which are extremely fast-firing soul arrows that can be comboed like normal attacks.
Also, I call it Ashtus. Or Baja Blast to go with the Sunny D.
Personally, I'd love to see the wand-type catalysts from Demon's Souls make a return as a weak AR but very high casting speed alternative to the stronger, slower staves.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. That would be interesting. Like daggers vs. greatswords, but for spells. Was cast speed ever linked to the catalyst used?
In Dark Souls II all spell tools have an innate casting speed.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Cool. I've never made any meaningful attempt at a caster build. In Dark Souls I didn't feel like it was truly viable due to limited charges, and I started one in Dark Souls II but didn't play it a lot.
Strength and Faith is where it's at. Equal parts greatsword and lightning bolts.
Or where it was rather. Sunlight spear nerf kinda made that less awesome.
Oh really when?Unfortunately, faith made it really easy to just breeze through DS2. For whatever reason, Fromsoft made almost everything weak to lightning.
Even worse; in the DLCs everything is ridiculously resistant to magic, so that awesome Throne Watcher Greatsword with its boner-inducing speed and moveset is suddenly nigh-worthless.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Well, the DLC increases the resistance to elements across the board - but not enough that I felt legitimately useless. It just took far more spells to kill things, which I compensated for by carrying more spell-recharging items. :V At least my pyromancer - not sure for the rest.
It is borderline impossible to kill stuff in the Ivory King DLC efficiently as a magic-focused character. Emphasis on "efficiently". It simply feels like you're wasting your power.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Ahh. Well, at least for Ivory King - their entire society was based on the power of Sorcery, stemming from the Ivory Ore. So it figures they'd be pretty resistant to sorcery.
Dunno about the rest. Pyromancy worked just fine, at least.
So, here's some detail VaatiVidya took away from playtesting the TGS build. Almost sounds like FROM are taking some inspiration from Dragons Dogma.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Since it's October, I've just set up the nightmare fuel page for this new installment. I trust that it will become quite robust in the near future.

From what I heard in the Beta test, You can now only be invaded while you have phantoms with you.
That would make sense, since I think that's how it happens in Bloodborne. In Bloodborne, if I understand right, invaders can only be drawn in by the bell of the Sinister Bell-ringing Woman, and she only appears if you summon a friendly phantom. Invasions can be prevented by killing her.
As someone who doesn't care for PVP, I like this method, but I suspect PV Pers don't like it, since if they want to get invaded for some one-on-one dueling, they need to summon another player who may not necessarily want to PVP, and if they want to invade they're probably going to end up against someone who has help.
I'm probably not in possession of all the facts though, and I wouldn't be surprised if they changed things for Dark Souls III.
I'm quite sure that there will be enough options through convenants.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Hooray for no more backstab-fishing.
The feeling is so bloody Demon's Souls. Can't wait to see more of the game.
Also, they apparently changed the city's name from "Lodeleth" to "Lothric". Which is good. There are way too many things in modern fantasy settings that end with "th", and it sounds just stupid as fuck.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Bumppotron.
Apparently embers now are the new humanity. So, rather than reverting from hollow to human form, you're carrying what seems to be essentially a portable first flame, and resurrection means setting yourself on fire (your character is literally smouldering from the inside while in human form). Which makes me all the more eager to see where and when exactly Dark Souls III is gonna take place. Or if it maybe even presents as an alternative to DS II, based on the "link the fire" ending, rather than the "Dark Lord" ending of the first Dark Souls.

New Vaatividya talks about PVP, new functions for catalysts and talismans as well as backstabs.
The Collector's Editions (yes, plural, there's two of them) have apparently been leaked by our Arab friends, they basically range from "expensive" to "hella expensive".
Also they seem to suggest the release date might be April 12th.

He should just bring back Marvelous Chester or something like him then... I was kinda bummed he was not given a slight shout-out at all in Bloodborne.
